Sunday, May 11, 2025 (Happy Mothers' Day !!)

  • The "NFL on CBS" remains the principal AFC television partner, home of the superstar quarterbacks, and the highest viewed television window (Doubleheader - 4:25 PM ET).
  • Big games in 2025 include Chiefs vs. Bills in Week 9 & Chiefs vs. Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.
  • "The NFL on CBS" has more Sunday NFL games than any other network.

CBS Sports, who has the rights to the American Football Conference (AFC) package of games since 1998, has disclosed their 2025 NFL on CBS coverage, representing the network's 66th NFL season (1956-93, 1998-present). The 2025 schedule comprises over 100 regular season games, featuring more Sunday NFL contests than any other network. CBS Sports' postseason lineup has a AFC Wild Card Game (Jan. 10 or Jan. 11), an AFC Divisional Playoff Game (Jan. 17 or Jan. 18) & finally the AFC Championship Game (Jan. 25).

Noteworthy Matchups include Chiefs vs. Bills (Week 9), Lions vs. Packers (Week 1) & Ravens vs. Chiefs (Week 4) highlighting television's most-watched window (4:25 PM ET):

CBS Sports will have 10 national Sunday doubleheaders over the course of the 2025 season, beginning with Lions vs. Packers game in Week 1 (Sunday, September 7).

The 4:25 PM (ET) window also contains games of high significance to many football fans, including Ravens vs. Chiefs (Week 4), Bengals vs. Packers (Week 6), Chiefs vs. Bills (Week 9), & Bills vs. Steelers (Week 13). The NFL on CBS concludes 2025 regular season coverage with a national doubleheader in three of the final four weeks of the regular season (Weeks 15-18).

Stroud (Texans), 2025 NFL Draft No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward (Titans), Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins), among others.

  1. Which Weeks will Cbs have the doubleheader week? And in week 15. Will both Cbs and fox get the doubleheader week? Just like last year?

    1. yep you’re right CBS is expected to have the doubleheader

    2. Both networks have doubleheaders in Weeks 15 & 18. While GB DEN is the main 4:25 game, I actually see Nantz and Romo doing LAC KC at 1, similar to how in Week 18 a few years ago, they did NE BUF.

      Delete
    3. I think in my opinion that it would make sense for Nantz and Romo to announce the packers vs broncos game at 3:25 pm week 15. Also before that, on week 14, Packers vs. bears game at Lambeau, if both packers and bears playing good football in order to fight for playoff implications, I could see that matchup crossflexed to cbs and flex it to 3:25 pm game on cbs with Nantz and Romo announcing.

    4. For Week 14, I see Nantz and Romo doing Steelers-Ravens due to their rivalry and the potentially high stakes that come with it. That week, FOX is scheduled to air Bengals-Bills at 4:25 ET, but Bears-Packers can certainly be flexed or cross-flexed if necessary.

  2. CBS will air DET-GB at 4:25 on 9/7. It will be CBS’s first week 1 solo DH since 2015.
