This week's MLB on Fox: On Deck, highlights include:
- Fox regionally televises a pair of matchups on Saturday, July 12, live in primetime, on this week's edition of Baseball Night in America (7:30 PM ET): Rangers vs. Astros or Phillies vs. Padres. Check your local listings or the bottom of this article for additional information.
- Lone Star Showdown: The two MLB clubs that play in the state of Texas meet under the lights as Jake Burger and the Texas Rangers take on Mauricio Dubón and the Houston Astros on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 PM ET on Fox.
- Phillies-Padres: NL Contenders Clash in San Diego: Bryson Stott and the National League East-leading Philadelphia Phillies forge ahead with a week-long West Coast trip against Fernando TatÃs Jr. and the San Diego Padres on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 PM ET on Fox.
We have reached the final week of play before next week's MLB All-Star Game from Atlanta. Fox will televise their final "Baseball Night in America" before the Midsummer Classic this Saturday, July 12, at 7:30 PM ET. Saturday's coverage is pushed back a half-hour due to IndyCar airing on the network beforehand. Two games are set to be regionally televised on Fox. Your game choices are as follows: Wyatt Langford and the Texas Rangers visit Yainer Diaz and the Houston Astros, or a National League matchup from San Diego, as Edmundo Sosa and the Philadelphia Phillies take on Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres. Which game will you be receiving this Saturday and who will be on the call? Read on to find out the answers.
Two American League West rivals hit the field on "Baseball Night in America" as Adolis GarcÃa and the Texas Rangers battle Christian Walker and the Houston Astros in the "Lone Star Series" on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 PM ET on Fox. The Rangers & Astros are scheduled to meet 13 teams during the 2025 season, with the teams splitting a four-game set at Globe Life Field in May. Remember, Texas & Houston met in the 2023 ALCS, with the Rangers defeating the Astros in seven games. Obviously, the Astros aren't concerned about anyone else in their division, as they hold a seven-game lead in the division entering play this week. For the Rangers, they are looking to move up the American League standings. Texas finds themselves four games back of the final American League Wild Card spot. Rangers SP Jacob deGrom is healthy again and he is providing the Rangers with a great season on the mound. deGrom ranks third in the AL with a 2.13 ERA. Meanwhile, Astros manager Joe Espada is scheduled to give SP Framber Valdez the starting nod on Friday and SP Hunter Brown the starting nod on Saturday. 🎤 Adam Amin (play-by-play) calls Phillies-Padres live from San Diego's Petco Park alongside 2006 World Series Champion Adam Wainwright (analyst) and Emmy-Award winner Ken Rosenthal (reporter).
A couple of National League clubs currently in contention square off as Brandon Marsh and the Philadelphia Phillies clash with Luis Arraez and the San Diego Padres on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 PM ET on Fox. For the second straight week, Philadelphia & San Diego are facing off against each other in a head-to-head situation. Last week, the two clubs played a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, with Philadelphia grabbing two of the three games. As most of you know, the Phillies & Padres played in the 2022 NLCS, with the Phillies eliminating the Padres in five games (two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper had a little something to do with that 😉). Philadelphia is involved in a tight divisional battle with Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets over in the NL East, as the Phillies hold a slim game and a half lead as this week starts. As for the Padres, consistency is a key. The Padres have split their previous ten games (5-5), but is fresh off a series victory over the Rangers this past weekend. San Diego is currently tied with the Giants for the final NL Wild Card Spot. Pitching is a strength for the Phillies. Three of their pitchers, Ranger Suárez (1.99), Zack Wheeler (2.17) & Cristopher Sánchez (2.68), have a ERA under three. Padres RF and three-time All-Star Fernando Tatis Jr. leads his squad in home runs (15) and on-base percentage [OBP] (.355). 🎤 Experienced play-by-play commentator Jason Benetti joins analyst and former National League Rookie of the Year Eric Karros for Fox's live broadcast of Rangers-Astros from Daikin Park in Houston, Texas.
