Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Week #2 edition of the NFL on Fox: Field Pass! Thank you so much for reading this week’s edition. We will prepare for Week 2 NFL on Fox action this Sunday, as Fox prepares to televise an NFL doubleheader for the second consecutive week.

A busy week for Fox, as the network will televise seven NFL games across two time slots. In the early window (1:00 PM ET), we have Eagles vs. Titans in Nashville, Vikings vs. Bears in Chicago, Packers vs. Jets in East Rutherford, and Panthers vs. Falcons in Atlanta. Later, America’s Game of the Week (4:25 PM ET) will regionalize three game matchups — Commanders vs. Cowboys, Dolphins vs. 49ers, and Seahawks vs. Cardinals. Four divisional showdowns, teams trying to make early statements, and the final Sunday of summer serve as the backdrop for this week’s NFL on Fox Sunday slate.

To efficiently preview this week’s Fox schedule, I have prepared a weekly cheat sheet that includes an overview of the broadcast schedule and brief game capsules for each matchup. I hope you enjoy this feature, and let’s get into it, shall we?

And now, stay tuned for a preview of this week’s NFL on Fox schedule for this Fox NFL Sunday doubleheader:

🞼 Doubleheader, Game 1 — Eagles at Titans, Vikings at Bears, Packers at Jets or Panthers at Falcons — 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT):
Once pregame ends, live game coverage begins at 1:00 PM ET with the first half of the NFL on Fox doubleheader. Four games will be part of this window. A pair of 1-0 teams face off from the Windy City as Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings take on Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. Also, can Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles improve to 2-0 against Carnell Tate and the Tennessee Titans? Plus, you have Packers-Jets and Panthers-Falcons as early game options. Read on for game capsules.

► Eagles (1-0) vs. Titans (0-1) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT on Fox & Fox One:
Jermaine Johnson and the Tennessee Titans (0-1) host Marcus Epps and the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT, live on Fox & Fox One. The Titans try to bounce back after last week’s 23-10 loss to the Jets. The Eagles edged NFC East foe the Commanders, 24-22, last Sunday and demolished the Titans, 35-10, in their previous meeting in 2022.

Sunday’s Eagles-Titans broadcast team on Fox features play-by-play commentator Adam Amin, analyst and Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Brees, & sideline reporter Kristina Pink.

► Vikings (1-0) vs. Bears (1-0) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT on Fox & Fox One:
Aaron Jones Sr. and the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) compete against D’Andre Swift and the Chicago Bears (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT on Fox & Fox One. This will be the 131st meeting between these two NFC North teams.

Joe Davis (play-by-play), three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen (analyst) & Pam Oliver (reporter) will be on-site at Soldier Field in Chicago to narrate the Vikings-Bears in-game action.

Last week, the Vikings came from behind to defeat the Packers 39-22, with Vikings starting QB Kyler Murray departing and being replaced by veteran QB Carson Wentz. Vikings WR Justin Jefferson led his team with eight receptions for 92 yards and 2 TD’s vs. the Packers in Week #1. Vikings S Josh Metellus has registered at least 10 tackles in 2 of his past 3 games vs. the Bears. Vikings CB James Pierre had an interception & two pass deflections last week vs. the Packers. Vikings RB Aaron Jones Sr. had a rushing touchdown in Week 1 vs. Green Bay.

A historic Week 1 dub for the Bears as they dropped 59 points (!!) in Charlotte against the Panthers. Chicago set a record for most points in a season opener with their 59-point outing vs. the Panthers last week. Bears RB D’Andre Swift ran for 124 yards and three scores on 18 carries in the Bears’ historic Week 1 victory over the Panthers. Bears LB Devin Bush amassed 6 tackles & forced a fumble in Week 1 vs. the Panthers. Bears DL Montez Sweat picked up his first sack of the season last week.

► Packers (0-1) vs. Jets (1-0) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET on Fox & Fox One:
Isaiah McDuffie and the Green Bay Packers (0-1) face off against Breece Hall and the New York Jets (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox & Fox One.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play) — now in his 33rd season as an NFL on Fox play-by-play commentator — calls the action for Packers-Jets, alongside Super Bowl champion Jonathan Vilma and sideline reporter Jen Hale.

Last week, Green Bay blew a double-digit lead and lost 39-22 to the Vikings in Minneapolis. Green Bay heads on the road again this week to face a Jets squad beaming with confidence. Can the Green Bay Packers play solid football for four quarters, unlike last week in Minneapolis? Packers QB Jordan Love tossed for 387 yards in Week 1 against the Vikings. Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper recorded two tackles for loss in Week 1 on the road vs. Minnesota. For the first time since 2023, Green Bay starts with two consecutive road contests. The Packers have NEVER lost to the Jets at MetLife Stadium since the stadium opened in 2010.

In the Week 1 game vs. the Titans, the Jets came away with a nice victory, winning 23-10 on the road in Nashville. Braelon Allen and the New York Jets now focus on their home opener vs. Xavier McKinney and the Green Bay Packers. The Jets are in search of their first 2-0 start since the 2015 season. Jets QB Geno Smith threw for 215 yards last week against the Titans, despite throwing no touchdowns. Jets superstar wideout Garrett Wilson led his club with 79 receiving yards on seven targets in Week 1. The Jets defense was dialed in vs. the Titans in Week 1, holding Tennessee to 10 points all afternoon at Nissan Stadium.

► Panthers (0-1) vs. Falcons (0-1) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET on Fox & Fox One:
Derrick Brown and the Carolina Panthers (0-1) challenge Jessie Bates III and the Atlanta Falcons (0-1) in an NFC South confrontation on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox & Fox One.

The Panthers were crushed 59-37 by the Bears in Week #1. Carolina opens up their NFC South schedule with a Week 2 road game against the Falcons. The Panthers have won three consecutive matchups vs. Atlanta, dating back to the 2024 season. Panthers QB Bryce Young passed for 361 yards and three touchdowns last week vs. the Bears. Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard totaled 87 scrimmage yards (49 rushing, 38 receiving) and two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in last week’s matchup against the Bears.

The Falcons lost 20-13 to the Steelers in the season opener one week ago. Of course, Atlanta’s offense was pretty abhorrent throughout their Week 1 contest with Pittsburgh. Atlanta’s offense only mustered 13 points, went just 2-for-12 on third down, and averaged just 4.2 yards per play. Falcons QB Cooper Rush was pretty ineffective in Week 1, posting a subpar 51.9 QB rating, throwing for just 143 yards, and getting intercepted twice. Despite receiving plenty of attention, Falcons RB Bijan Robinson did a decent job running the football last week, receiving 21 carries for 83 yards. Atlanta’s pass rush picked up two sacks of Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers in Week 1.

Veteran sportscaster Tim Brando leads Sunday’s Panthers-Falcons game broadcast, alongside four-time Super Bowl champion Matt Millen (analyst) and Sarah Kustok (reporter).

🞼 Doubleheader, Game 2 (America’s Game of the Week) — Commanders at Cowboys, Dolphins at 49ers or Seahawks at Cardinals — 4:25 PM ET (3:25 PM CT):
The Week #2 NFL on Fox doubleheader continues at 4:25 PM ET with America’s Game of the Week. Fox will regionally televise three games to stations across the country. Most of the country will watch Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders visit CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys in an old-fashioned NFC East battle. Other matchups include Dolphins-49ers and Seahawks-Cardinals. Read on for game capsules.

► Commanders (0-1) vs. Cowboys (0-1) — Sunday, 4:25 PM ET/3:25 PM CT on Fox & Fox One:
Stefon Diggs and the Washington Commanders (0-1) enter combat against Cobie Durant and the Dallas Cowboys (0-1), with each team entering Week 2 with zero wins combined, on Sunday, September 20 at 4:25 PM ET/3:25 PM CT on Fox & Fox One. The Cowboys lost 28-20 to the Giants on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 1, while the Commanders fell in a tight battle, 24-22, to the Eagles in Philadelphia.

The lead NFL on Fox team of Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play), seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady (analyst), Erin Andrews (reporter) & Tom Rinaldi (reporter) will provide commentary on the Commanders-Cowboys game from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

► Dolphins (0-1) vs. 49ers (1-0) — Sunday, 4:25 PM ET/1:25 PM PT on Fox & Fox One:
Malik Willis and the winless Miami Dolphins (0-1) travel out West to contend against Fred Warner and the undefeated San Francisco 49ers (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 4:25 PM ET/1:25 PM PT on Fox & Fox One.

Calling Sunday’s Dolphins-49ers regional broadcast on Fox will be Kevin Kugler (play-by-play), three-time Super Bowl champion Daryl “Moose” Johnston (analyst) & Allison Williams (reporter).

The Dolphins continue their two-game West Coast swing with Sunday’s matchup vs. the 49ers, following a 27-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders last week. Sunday marks the 16th regular-season matchup between Miami and San Francisco, with Miami leading the all-time series 9-6. The Dolphins travel to Levi’s Stadium to play for the first time since the 2022 season. Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas (rookie) caught 5 passes for 94 yards in Miami’s season opener in Las Vegas. Dolphins LB Jacob Rodriguez totaled 14 tackles (five solo) in the Week 1 contest against the Raiders. One of the key leaders on defense, Dolphins LB Jordyn Brooks, signed a new contract extension in July that will keep him in Miami through the 2029 season.

The 49ers are coming off a dominant victory over the Rams in the season opener over in Australia by a final score of 27-7. San Francisco’s defense held LA’s offense to just six passing first downs in Week 1. San Francisco looks to begin 2-0 for the fifth time since the 2019 season. 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey carried the ball 10 times for 68 yards last week vs. the Rams. 49ers LB Fred Warner played well last week, notching 11 tackles, one pass defensed, and one forced fumble.

► Seahawks (1-0) vs. Cardinals (1-0) — Sunday, 4:25 PM ET/1:25 PM MST on Fox & Fox One:
NFC West rivals play each other from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, when Kendrick Bourne and the Arizona Cardinals (1-0) welcome reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the Seattle Seahawks (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 4:25 PM ET/1:25 PM MST on Fox & Fox One.

Play-by-play commentator Chris Myers joins three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth and reporter Megan Olivi for Sunday’s Seahawks-Cardinals game on Fox.

The Seahawks erased a 10-point deficit to knock out the defending AFC champion New England Patriots, 13-10, on Opening Night at Lumen Field. And now, Seattle goes on the road for the first time in 2026 to play their division rival Cardinals. Last week, the Seahawks somehow survived despite being heavily penalized, losing starting QB Sam Darnold, and being without their top two DBs. In Week 1, Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba was fantastic, hauling in eight passes for 122 yards and scoring a touchdown. Seahawks S Julian Love recorded six tackles, two tackles for loss, and an interception in Week 1 against the Patriots. Seahawks QB Drew Lock, filling in for the injured Sam Darnold, played well last week against New England, passing for 187 yards after entering the matchup.

Last week, Josh Sweat and the Arizona Cardinals delivered a STUNNING Week 1 upset, winning 26-14 over the host Los Angeles Chargers. Arizona has dropped nine consecutive regular-season games vs. the Seahawks heading into Sunday. The Cardinals scored 26 points in Week 1, racked up almost 400 yards of offense, and went 6-for-14 on third down. Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (rookie) rushed 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut last week. Cardinals S Budda Baker had five tackles and 0.5 sacks in Week 1 against the Chargers. Cardinals WR Michael Wilson caught five passes for 56 yards in Week 1.

► Steelers (1-0) vs. Patriots (0-1) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET on CBS & Paramount+:
Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) battle DeMario Douglas and the reigning AFC champion New England Patriots (0-1) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.

Jim Nantz (play-by-play) will call Steelers-Patriots alongside three-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter).

The Steelers are coming off a 20-13 victory over the Falcons last week. Pittsburgh begins life under head coach Mike McCarthy, taking over for Mike Tomlin after his 19 seasons as the head coach. Steelers LB T.J. Watt had a pick-six in the Week 1 win over the Falcons at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers have recorded 63 forced fumbles on defense since 2022, the most in the NFL during that span.

On Opening Night, the Patriots lost 13-10 to the Seahawks in a rematch of Super Bowl LX. Patriots QB Drake Maye went 23-for-33 for 178 yards, 1 TD, and 3 INT’s in Week 1 vs. the Seahawks on the road. Patriots LB Dre’Mont Jones picked up a sack against the Seahawks last week. Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez, who just signed a massive contract extension, looks to make his second consecutive Pro Bowl in 2026. Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 51 yards on 18 carries last week vs. the Seahawks.

► Bengals (1-0) vs. Texans (0-1) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT) on CBS & Paramount+:
David Montgomery and the Houston Texans (0-1) play host to Dexter Lawrence and the Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT on CBS and Paramount+.

Sunday’s Bengals-Texans game can be seen on CBS, with Kevin Harlan (play-by-play), Trent Green (analyst) & Melanie Collins (reporter) describing the action from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The Bengals opened the 2026 season with a 33-27 win over the Buccaneers at home last Sunday. The Bengals had four takeaways last week. Cincinnati has a chance to begin 2-0 for the first time in consecutive years since 2014-15. Bengals QB Joe Burrow completed 71.4% of his passes last week for 254 yards. Bengals K Evan McPherson converted all four of his field-goal attempts in Week 1 vs. the Buccaneers, including attempts from 55 and 58 yards in the second half.

The Texans fell short in a Week 1 heartbreaker, dropping that one 36-31 to the visiting Bills. Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 26 of 38 passes (68.4%) for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1 vs. the Bills. Texans RB David Montgomery scored two rushing touchdowns in the season opener last week. Texans DE Jadeveon Clowney, in his return to the team, recorded his 30th sack with the franchise last week against the Bills. After hitting a 58-yard field goal last week, Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn now has 52 kicks made from 50+ yards, the most since he entered the league in 2017.

► Saints (0-1) vs. Ravens (1-0) — Sunday, 1:00 PM ET on CBS & Paramount+:
Travis Etienne Jr. and the New Orleans Saints (0-1) clash with Lamar Jackson and the host Baltimore Ravens (1-0) on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS & Paramount+.

Spero Dedes will provide play-by-play commentary for Saints-Ravens, joined by analyst and former NFL safety Adam Archuleta. Aditi Kinkhabwala serves as the sideline reporter.

The Saints are fresh off a tough loss to the Lions last week, falling 31-30 in overtime despite trailing 21-0 at one point. Saints QB Tyler Shough went 35-for-56 for a career-high 410 yards, 3 TD’s and 2 INT’s in the Week 1 loss to the Lions. In his Saints debut, Saints RB Travis Etienne Jr. rushed nine times for 46 yards, albeit in a Week 1 loss. Saints S Justin Reid finished last week’s contest in Detroit with eight tackles. Hello, everyone! And welcome to this week’s edition of MLB on Fox: On Deck. We are winding down our MLB on Fox regular-season articles for 2026, as this article will serve as the penultimate edition before the final article is released next week for the final week of the regular season. I hope you have enjoyed these weekly articles. It has been an honor and a pleasure to work on these every week to help you get ready for MLB on Fox action.

This week, our friends over at Fox Sports will televise a special Thursday night edition of “Baseball Night in America”, with a pair of regionalized broadcasts on Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox and Fox One. This week’s game selections include Phillies-Mets from Citi Field in Flushing, NY or Royals-Astros from Daikin Park in Houston, TX. Which game will your local station televise and which announcer pairing will be assigned to your game? Continue reading for additional information.

► Phillies vs. Mets — Thursday, 7:00 PM ET on Fox & Fox One:
Trea Turner and the Philadelphia Phillies visit Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets as the two National League East clubs open a four-game series at Citi Field in Flushing, New York, on Thursday, September 17 at 7:15 PM ET on Fox and Fox One.

We have arrived at the final series between these foes in 2026. So far, Philadelphia holds a slim 5-4 series edge. By this stage of the year, this series has any meaning for only one of the teams involved.

The Phillies now find themselves in a dogfight as the team has basically no chance (barring a miracle) of claiming their third straight NL East title after going 3-4 vs. Atlanta in seven September head-to-head meetings. At this point, it’s safe to assume that it is Wild Card or bust for Philadelphia if they want to play October baseball for the fifth consecutive season. Following a miraculous NLCS run in 2024, New York has now missed the postseason in back-to-back years. Changes could be coming in New York come the offseason.

The home run king resides in Philadelphia! Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber leads the major leagues with 45 home runs this season, and He can add to that total this weekend while also helping his team in their quest to lock down a playoff spot.

► Royals vs. Astros — Thursday, 7:00 PM ET (6:00 PM CT) on Fox & Fox One:
Isaac Collins and the Kansas City Royals battle Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros in the rubber game of a three-game midweek series from Houston’s Daikin Park on Thursday, September 17 at 7:15 PM ET on Fox and Fox One.

Thursday will mark the end of the regular-season series between the Royals and Astros. Thus far, Houston is up 3-2 in the regular-season series. The Astros desperately need this one, as they are in a first-place tie with the Texas Rangers with the AL West title still up for grabs this deep into the regular season.

Yes, Kansas City has been eliminated from playoff contention. That doesn’t mean that the Royals want to end 2026 on a high note. The Royals are using this time to set a foundation for 2027 (assuming there is actually a season next year). With 10 games remaining, Christian Walker and the Astros MUST find a way to finish strong and hold off the challenging Texas Rangers as Houston seeks their eighth AL West crown since the start of the 2017 season (2020 and 2025 were the only times that Houston didn’t finish as AL West champions during this time period). Fortunately, Houston has a tiebreaker over Texas if the two teams finish tied at the end of the regular season.

The Triple Crown watch continues for Astros DH Yordan Alvarez. The 29-year-old is tied for fourth in home runs with the Braves’ Matt Olson (39), second in batting average (only behind Philadelphia’s Luis Arraez) (.310), and tied for sixth in runs batted in (alongside the Giants’ Rafael Devers) (98). Alvarez NEEDS to go crazy over the final 10 games to win the Triple Crown, given the competition around him.
