Later on, the doubleheader continued at 4:25 PM ET, featuring two games: Steelers vs. Lions and Raiders vs. Texans. Which games will you be watching this Sunday on CBS, and which broadcast team will describe the action for you? Find out for yourself right now!
CBS kicks off its football Sundays with the iconic "The NFL Today powered by RAM Trucks" pregame show at 12:00 PM ET. Veteran studio host James Brown gets the honor of hosting this pregame staple with a cast of analysts that bring tons of experience to the table, including the 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Cowher, and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson. Additionally, lead NFL on CBS insider Jonathan Jones appears on the program to provide insight from around the National Football League.
Taron Johnson and the Buffalo Bills (10-4) ride a three-game win streak into Cleveland against Devin Bush and the Cleveland Browns (3-11) on Sunday, December 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle joining analyst and three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt and reporter Evan Washburn for the game call. The Bills trailed 21-0 before scoring a touchdown on five straight possessions en route to a 35-31 victory at AFC East-leading New England last week.
Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs, stunningly out of the playoff mix with three weeks left, visit Xavier Woods and the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan, analyst and two-time Pro Bowler Trent Green, and sideline reporter Melanie Collins take the call from Nissan Stadium from Nashville, Tennessee.
Jordan Battle and the Cincinnati Bengals (4-10) visit De'Von Achane and the Miami Dolphins (6-8) as both clubs shift their focus following their playoff eliminations on Sunday, December 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Spero Dedes calls play-by-play for #CINvsMIA with analyst and former NFL safety Adam Archuleta and sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala.
Chase Young and the New Orleans Saints (4-10) welcome Breece Hall and the New York Jets (3-11) to the Casears Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, December 21, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with this week's #NYJvsNO broadcast team consisting of play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy and analyst Ross Tucker in the booth, joined by reporter Tiffany Blackmon on the field delivering updates throughout the game.
Asante Samuel Jr. and the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6) visit D.J. Reed and the Detroit Lions (8-6) on Sunday, December 21, at 4:25 PM ET on CBS, with CBS's lead announcing team of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst), & Tracy Wolfson (sidelines) providing commentary. The Steelers kept their hold on first place in the AFC North with a 28-15 prime-time win over the Dolphins in Week 15. The Lions fell 41-34 to the NFC-leading Rams. Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has 11 touchdown receptions this season.
Brock Bowers and the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) line up against Derek Stingley Jr. and the sizzling Houston Texans (9-5) on Sunday, December 21, at 4:25 PM ET on CBS, featuring Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst), Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty (analyst), & AJ Ross (sidelines) on the broadcast. The Texans defeated the Cardinals 40-20 last week, thanks to a three-touchdown performance from Texans QB C.J. Stroud. Houston currently trails Jacksonville by one game for the AFC South lead. If Houston is able to qualify for the playoffs, they would become the fifth team since 1990 to begin 0-3 and still make the postseason in the same year. Texans QB C.J. Stroud has passed for 15 touchdowns so far this season. Texans DE Danielle Hunter leads the team with 12 sacks on the year.
