2014 MLB on Fox Schedule

Major League Baseball on Fox has returned for its 19th season, but will see a shorter season than what we have been used to in the past. As opposed to airing games throughout the entire season, which FOX previously did from 2007-13, they have opted for fewer regular season inventory. 

Their coverage will kick off in mid-May and then run through the All-Star Game in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 15, then will not return until September (starting on Saturday, September 6) and the run to the postseason. With the new television contract, Fox Sports 1 (FS1) will be carrying a number of games this season on Saturdays, including in doubleheaders with the Fox game. It represents a significant shift in the baseball TV landscape with less games on broadcast TV.

And some more big news is that the new lead Fox broadcast crew will be Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci in the wake of Tim McCarver's retirement. McCarver was the first and to this point only lead commentator Fox had from their debut in 1996.

2014 MLB on Fox Sports 1 Schedule

• A New Era: FOX Sports 1 (FS1) debuts their Major League Baseball package, beginning with the 2014 season.

One of the big positives when Fox announced the new Fox Sports 1 (later simply known as FS1; that channel debuted in August 2013) that would help the network in its early days was that it gained the rights to MLB games with the new TV contract signed in September 2012.

And now, we have the first-ever MLB schedule for Fox Sports 1, predominantly on Saturdays but with also games on some Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

FS1 will also have a nightly baseball highlights show called MLB Whiparound at 10:00 p.m. (ET)/7:00 p.m. (PT). 

And some more big news is that the new lead Fox broadcast crew will be Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci, replacing (Joe) Buck and Tim McCarver.
