The Mets are in this round for the first time since 2015, while the Dodgers are back in the LCS for the first time since 2021. Standing in their way? Star ⭐ third baseman José Ramírez and the #2 seed the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians hit the road for this Monday night ALCS contest, as they visit the Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. 🎙 Veteran Turner Sports play-by-play commentator Brian Anderson holds play-by-play duties for this series, alongside 12-year MLB veteran Jeff Francoeur and 1986 World Series Champion, All-Star and Gold Glover Ron Darling. Lauren Jbara, in her first postseason with Turner, will report from the field during the series.

Sunday, October 6, 2024

  • For the first time in three weeks, FOX Sports will have a doubleheader for football fans. On Sunday, October 13, FOX has the following matchups for Week 6 of the NFL season: Browns vs. Eagles, Buccaneers vs. Saints, Cardinals vs. Packers, Lions vs. Cowboys & Falcons vs. Panthers.
  • Players set to be featured on FOX this week include Jalen Hurts, Myles Garrett, Baker Mayfield, Tyrann Mathieu, Kirk Cousins, Dionate Johnson, Amon Ra-St. Brown, Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, Xavier McKinney and more!
  • FOX provides two hours of pregame coverage prior to the Sunday Week 6 doubleheader - "FOX NFL Kickoff" at 11:00 AM (ET) followed by "FOX NFL Sunday" at 12:00 PM (ET). "The OT" postgame show wraps up FOX's doubleheader coverage at 7:30 PM (ET).
  • Two teams firmly entrenched in the NFC South hunt square off in Week 6 as Jordan Whitehead, Mike Evans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) line up against Tyrann Mathieu, Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints (2-3). Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on FOX.
  • America's Game of the Week has Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions (3-1) invading AT&T Stadium for a Week 6 confrontation with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys (3-2). Sunday, October 13 at 4:25 PM (ET) on FOX.

It's time for us to jump into Week #6 of the 2024 NFL season. And this weekend (Sunday, October 13), FOX will have the doubleheader with the featured game being Lions at Cowboys (4:25 PM ET), featuring the network's top team of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews & Tom Rinaldi. In total, FOX will have five games during Week #6 including: Cardinals at Packers, Browns at Eagles, Cardinals at Packers, Lions at Cowboys (previously mentioned) & Falcons at Panthers. Further details regarding this week's NFL on FOX doubleheader coverage can be found in the paragraphs that come behind this one.

As per usual, FOX will supply hungry football fans two live hours of pregame content before the Week 6 doubleheader slate kicks off. First up, at 11:00 AM (ET), FOX airs "FOX NFL Kickoff", the first of two NFL on FOX pregame shows. "FOX NFL Kickoff" is hosted by Charissa Thompson. Thompson's analysts for the show include Hall of Famer Charles Woodson, three-time Super Bowl winner Julian Edelman, four-time Pro Bowler Michael Vick and analyst/insider Peter Schrager. To supplement the "FOX NFL Kickoff" cast, contributors Cooper Manning and Colin Cowherd add additional content.

Following "FOX NFL Kickoff", the iconic and transcendent pregame show "FOX NFL Sunday" hits the air on the national FOX airwaves at 12:00 PM (ET). "FOX NFL Sunday" is co-hosted by longtime FOX Sports host Curt Menefee and Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw. This week, Menefee and Bradshaw are joined by Hall of Famers Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long and Michael Strahan. To complete the "FOX NFL Sunday" cast, long-serving insider Jay Glazer shares news and information from across the National Football League.

FOX makes the transition from the studio to the gridiron for Game 1 of the Week 6 FOX doubleheader at 1:00 PM (ET). Three games will be regionally televised during this time, including Cardinals at Packers, Browns at Eagles and Buccaneers at Saints. Additional information will be dispensed regarding these three games.

Eric Stokes, Josh Jacobs, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers (3-2) welcome Kyler Murray, James Conner, Marvin Harrison Jr. and the Arizona Cardinals (2-3) to Lambeau Field in Green Bay on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on FOX. This is the 74th time that these teams will see each other during regular season play. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray went 19-for-30 for 195 yards and hurled one touchdown through the air as the Cardinals UPSET the 49ers last week in Santa Clara, 24-23. Cardinals LB Kyzir White had a critical interception of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy last week. Packers S Xavier McKinney is off to a strong straight, having grabbed an interception in each of the five games that McKinney has participated in (including one last week vs. the Rams, a 24-19 win for the Packers). The Packers are an exceptional 8-1 versus NFC West opponents since the 2019 season. 🎙 Kevin Kugler joins three-time Super Bowl champion Daryl "Moose" Johnston and reporter Laura Okmin for the broadcast of Cardinals-Packers.

David Njoku and the distasteful Cleveland Browns (1-4) find themselves away from home for third straight week as they go against Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2), fresh off a bye week, on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on FOX. These teams are meeting for the first time since the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, when the Browns bested the Eagles 22-17. Browns DE Myles Garrett leads the Browns with four sacks this season (that means Garrett has basically recorded one sack per game for the most part). Browns CB Denzel Ward leads the league with nine passes defended thus far in the 2024 campaign. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is leading the Eagles with 435 rushing yards (6.0 avg) and 5 TD's (four rushing, one receiving). A historic Week #6 for Eagles DE Brandon Graham (who is currently playing his 15th and final season in the NFL), as he will become the first Eagles player in franchise history to play in 200 games. 🎙 Sunday's Browns-Eagles game is nationally televised on FOX, with Kenny Albert on play-by-play, Super Bowl champion linebacker Jonathan Vilma on color commentary & Megan Olivi as the sideline reporter.

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2), currently tied for first place in the NFC South, enter hostile territory for a high-stakes Week 6 NFC South showdown vs. Tyrann Mathieu and the New Orleans Saints (2-3) on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on FOX. The Buccaneers look to move on following a crushing OT loss to the Falcons in Week 5, 36-30. Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield went 19-for-24 for 180 yards while rifling three touchdown passes through the air in the Week 5 loss to the Falcons. Buccaneers CB Jamel Dean recorded nine tackles in Week 5 vs. the Falcons. The Saints, unfortunately, have a short week following a Monday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Saints LB Demario Davis had five tackles in the Saints' Week 5 26-13 loss to the Chiefs. Saints DT Khalen Saunders had a CRAZY interception during the Chiefs game, that made the Internet go bananas! 🎙 Play-by-play commentator Adam Amin (fresh off his assignment of calling the Phillies-Mets NLDS) narrates the action from New Orleans, with analyst and three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen and reporter Pam Oliver.

The doubleheader continues on FOX at 4:25 PM (ET), with America's Game of the Week. Two games are set for a 4:25 PM (ET) kickoff on FOX this week - Lions at Cowboys and Falcons at Panthers. I strongly recommend you keep reading to acquire additional insight and perspective regarding these two late contests.

A pair of three-win clubs match up at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as Amon-Ra St. Brown, Aidan Hutchinson and the Detroit Lions (3-1) take on Dak Prescott, Jalen Tolbert, DeMarvion Overshown and the Dallas Cowboys (3-2) on Sunday, October 13 at 4:25 PM (ET) on FOX. The Lions enjoyed a bye week last week, while the Cowboys barely squeezed past the Steelers last week 20-17 thanks to a fourth down TD pass from QB Dak Prescott to WR Jalen Tolbert. Lions QB Jared Goff has completed 71% of his passes with over 1,000 passing yards through Week 4. Stud Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has 27 receptions for 252 yards, along with two touchdowns through four weeks of game action. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott passed for 352 yards and had two touchdown passes during the Cowboys' Week 5 over the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle had 20 attempts on the ground for 87 yards last week vs. the Steelers. 🎙 Sunday's Lions-Cowboys game will be seen on FOX, with the network's top NFL crew of Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play), Tom Brady (analyst), Erin Andrews (reporter) & Tom Rinaldi (reporter) calling it.

Jessie Bates III and the confident Atlanta Falcons (3-2) are scheduled to take on a NFC South division opponent in Week 6, as they face Chuba Hubbard and the woeful Carolina Panthers (1-4) on Sunday, October 13 at 4:25 PM (ET) on FOX. Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, of course, had a sterling and outstanding performance last week vs. the Buccaneers on "Thursday Night Football". Cousins went 42-for-58 for 509 yards and passed for four touchdowns as the Falcons toppled the Buccaneers 36-30 in overtime. Falcons WR Drake London had 12 receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown vs. the Buccaneers in Week 5. Panthers RB Miles Sanders and his team are coming off a brutal 36-10 loss to the Bears at Soldier Field last week. 🎙 Chris Myers calls play-by-play with analyst and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez. Kristina Pink works the sidelines.

Once the doubleheader is all set and done, FOX will summarize the day's events on "The OT" postgame show, starting at 7:30 PM (ET). Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson & Jay Glazer will serve as the studio team for the postgame.

NFL on CBS: Field Pass (2024 Regular Season) | Broadcast Schedule & Distribution Breakdown | Week 6 - Sunday, October 13, 2024 (Regional Coverage)

Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud (#7) prepares to clap his hands. (Chron)

Sunday, October 6, 2024

  • CBS returns to provide more coverage of the 2024 NFL season with a Week 6 singleheader on Sunday, October 13. Games on the CBS slate for this weekend include: Commanders at Ravens, Texans at Patriots, Colts at Titans, Steelers at Raiders & Chargers at Broncos.
  • "The NFL Today" gets everyone set for all of Sunday's Week 6 game action at 12:00 PM (ET) on CBS, with the studio team of James Brown (host), Nate Burleson (analyst), Matt Ryan (analyst), Bill Cowher (analyst) & Jonathan Jones (insider).
  • A exciting "Battle of Beltway" set to take place at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium as Jayden Daniels and the suddenly formidable Washington Commanders (4-1) take on the electrifying reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens (3-2). Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS
  • Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud (who this week's cover "athlete") and the Houston Texans look to continue their early season success against Jacoby Brissett and the New England Patriots (1-4). Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS.
  • Longtime bitter AFC rivals renew their rivalry as Justin Fields and the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) travel west to face Brock Bowers and the Las Vegas Raiders (2-3). Sunday, October 13 at 4:25 PM (ET) on CBS.

Welcome to Week #6 of the 2024 NFL season! CBS Sports returns with more NFL coverage this Sunday, October 13. For Week #6, CBS will have a singleheader for the first time in three weeks. Five games comprises CBS's Week #6 schedule, including Commanders at Ravens, Texans at Patriots, Colts at Titans, Steelers at Raiders and Broncos at Chargers. For more information about Sunday's NFL on CBS coverage, please read the following paragraphs.

Sunday's Week 6 NFL on CBS coverage kicks off at 12:00 PM (ET) with "The NFL Today". Veteran studio host James Brown hosts the one-hour program, with Hall of Fame head coach Bill Cowher, former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson & four-time Pro Bowler Matt Ryan. Insider Jonathan Jones joins the program to provide the latest news and information from around the league.

Following the conclusion of "The NFL Today", CBS will shift their focus to the live game coverage. Viewers will receive a live CBS broadcast at either 1:00 PM (ET) (early game only) or 4:00 PM (ET) (late game only). Check out the bottom of this article to figure out which game your local market will show this Sunday.

Viewers that are pegged for an early CBS broadcast will get a game at 1:00 PM (ET). CBS will have three games slated for that window, including Commanders at Ravens, Texans at Patriots & Colts at Titans. I will give you a brief summary of each one of these early afternoon battles.

Rookie quarterback sensation Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders (4-1) look to continue their dream season against fellow quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens (3-2) in "The Battle of the Beltway" matchup on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. The obvious storyline here is the two starting quarterbacks -- Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (2023) and Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (2016) -- are both former Heisman Trophy winners. As you might expect, fireworks are sure to fly as Daniels and Jackson are set to duel for the first time at the professional level. For the first time since 2016, the Commanders will be traveling to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Commanders try to begin a season 5-1 for the first time since 1996, while the Ravens attempt to secure their fourth straight win following a lousy 0-2 start. 🎙 The lead CBS crew of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (reporter) provide coverage of Sunday's Commanders-Ravens game on CBS.

Quarterback CJ Stroud and his AFC South leading Houston Texans (4-1) open up a two-game October road trip when they face Brendan Schooler and the New England Patriots (1-4) on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. This is the 13th time that these clubs have faced off, with the Patriots leading the all-time series 9-3. If Houston wins on Sunday, it would be the first time that a Texans team has begun a campaign with a 5-1 record or better since 2012. The Patriots are pretty awful, as the team has dropped four straight contests following an upset win over the Bengals in Week 1. Texans QB CJ Stroud completed 28 of 38 passes for 331 yards, threw for a touchdown (67 yd bomb to WR Nico Collins), and tossed a interception in the tight 23-20 Texans win over the Bills last week. 🎙 Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Trent Green (analyst) provide commentary for Texans-Patriots, with Melanie Collins (reporter) roaming the sidelines.

Safety Nick Cross and the Indianapolis Colts (2-2) strive to get back into the win column when they face off against Tony Pollard and the Tennessee Titans (1-3) on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. For Tennessee, this is their first divisional matchup of the 2024 season. The Colts have already fallen short in two divisional matchups (Week 1 - vs. Houston and Week 5 - @ Jacksonville). Prior to Tennessee's bye last week, the Titans went to Miami and defeated the Dolphins 31-12 on "Monday Night Football". Titans RB Tony Pollard paced the Titans' rushing attack in Week 4 vs. Miami with 88 rushing yards on 22 carries, with a tuddy thrown in there. Last week, during the Colts' 37-34 Week 5 loss to the Jaguars, Colts WR Alec Pierce caught three receptions for 134 yards and one touchdown. 🎙 In the booth, Spero Dedes (play-by-play) will team up with Adam Archuleta (analyst). Aditi Kinkhabwala reports from the sidelines.

Later that afternoon, for viewers slated to receive a late afternoon CBS game, coverage begins at 4:05 PM (ET) (with CBS signing on the air at 4:00 PM ET for a mini pregame show of sorts). CBS will regionalize two games in the late afternoon slot - Steelers at Raiders and Chargers at Broncos. Let's talk about these late afternoon AFC encounters.

T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) are set to travel cross country to play Alexander Mattison and the Las Vegas Raiders (2-3) on Sunday, October 13 at 4:05 PM (ET) on CBS. After a 3-0 start, the Steelers have now dropped two straight games entering this Week 6 affair. For the Raiders, they are coming off a 34-18 loss last week to their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos. This is the 33rd meeting between two iconic cornerstone AFC franchises, with the Raiders leading the all-time series 17-15. 🎙 Sunday's Steelers-Raiders is set for a national broadcast on CBS with Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst) and Evan Washburn (reporter) announcing.

Following a bye week, Kristian Fulton and the Los Angeles Chargers (2-2) head to Denver, Colorado to square off against Courtland Sutton, P.J. Locke and the red-hot Denver Broncos (3-2) on Sunday, October 13 at 4:05 PM (ET) on CBS. The Chargers' defense is one of the best ones in the NFL right now, allowing just 12.5 points per game (the best in pro football). The Chargers have three players responsible for multiple sacks through four weeks including OLB Khalil Mack (2), LB Joey Bosa (2) & OLB Bud Dupree (2). Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II had a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown last week in a 34-18 win over the Raiders. The Broncos are now catching steam, as the team has ripped off three straight victories following a dismal 0-2 start. 🎙 Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), Tiki Barber (analyst), Jason McCourty (analyst) & AJ Ross (reporter) are set to call Sunday's Chargers-Broncos game on CBS.

Top things to know about the 2024 WNBA Finals presented by YouTube TV:
  • The New York Liberty, one of the league's original eight teams, looks to capture the first championship in franchise history. The Liberty, who are appearing in their second straight WNBA Finals (after losing to the Las Vegas Aces in 2023), are in the WNBA Finals for the 6th time.
  • The Minnesota Lynx ended a seven-year WNBA Finals drought, as they qualified for the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2017. This is the Lynx's 7th WNBA Finals appearance. Minnesota has four championships, tied with the Seattle Storm and the Houston Comets for the most in WNBA history.
  • This WNBA Finals series features two of the winningest coaches in WNBA history. Plus, both of the head coaches in these WNBA Finals became head coaches back in 2010. New York Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello got her first ever head coaching WNBA job with the San Antonio Silver Stars (now the Las Vegas Aces). In 2014, Brondello led the Phoenix Mercury to a WNBA championship. Brondello is currently in her third season as the Liberty's head coach. Cheryl Reeve, the Lynx's head coach since the 2010 season, has led the Lynx to all four WNBA titles the team has earned up to this point, which ties her with Van Chancellor for the most WNBA championships by a head coach.
  • Both teams have significant Finals experience on their roster. The Liberty have three players that have participated in multiple WNBA Finals - Jonquel Jones (13 games), Breanna Stewart (10 games) & Courtney Vandersloot (11 games), while the Lynx have two players that qualify for this - Natisha Hiedeman (9 games) & Courtney Williams (9 games).
  • Both teams are stacked with star talent! The Liberty have two former MVP's on the team - Breanna Stewart (2018 and 2023) & Jonquel Jones (2021). The Lynx are led by Naphessa Collier, the 2024 Kia WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and the runner-up to the Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson as the 2024 Kia WNBA MVP.
