- Generational talents including Hall of Famers Derek Jeter & David "Big Papi" Ortiz, World Series champion Alex Rodriguez, and longtime MLB on FOX studio host Kevin Burkhardt serve as primary the MLB on FOX studio team for the 2025 season.
In the direct aftermath of the highest watched Fall Classic since 2017 (Astros-Dodgers), FOX Sports is slated to return to the baseball diamond for the highly anticipated 30th season of Major League Baseball coverage, maintaining a roster of renowned personalities and baseball legends that will the pave way of Fox's unparalleled and special coverage of the MLB on Fox.
First Rate Game Announcing Lineup:
Beginning the fourth season as a broadcast duo and coming off of a historic World Series which attracted the biggest television audience in nearly 10 years, highly respected play-by-play commentator Joe Davis and analyst and Hall of Famer John Smoltz return to broadcast FOX's top regular season and postseason matchups. Celebrated field reporters Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci return to their respective roles to enhance the broadcasters from field level in 2025.
To start this 2025 season off, 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski joins play-by-play commentator Jason Benetti in the broadcast booth for Game 1 of the Tokyo Series between the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 AM (ET) on Fox. The following day, Wednesday, March 19, Pierzynski will then reunite with play-by-play announcer Adam Amin for Game 2 of the Tokyo Series between the Dodgers and Cubs at 6:00 AM (ET) on FS1.
FOX Sports' traditional MLB Opening Week coverage is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 across the Fox broadcast network and FS1 with a doubleheader incorporating daytime & primetime. Game coverage starts at 2:00 PM ET on FS1, as the Minnesota Twins clash with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, Missouri. Play-by-play commentator Connor Onion teams up with analyst Tom Verducci to provide commentary. This is followed by regionalized matchups on Fox, beginning at 7:00 PM (ET) that night. Joe Davis (play-by-play), John Smoltz (analyst) and Ken Rosenthal (reporter) team up to call the Mets vs. Astros game while Jason Benetti (play-by-play) & AJ Pierzynski (analyst) call the action for the Braves vs. Padres matchup.
Throughout the regular season, play-by-play commentators Joe Davis, Adam Amin, Kevin Kugler, Jeff Levering, Don Orsillo, Connor Onion, and Jason Benetti team up with analysts John Smoltz, Adam Wainwright, AJ Pierzynski, Eric Karros, Tom Verducci & Dontrelle Willis (?) in the commentary booth.

MLB on Fox's lead studio team consists of iconic baseball talent that shaped a entire generation of baseball history, including Hall of Famers Derek Jeter and David Ortiz, plus World Series champion Alex Rodriguez. Following his second Super Bowl game call for Fox (Super Bowl LIX - Chiefs vs. Eagles), this well-known group of high profile talent is led by veteran host/play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt.
In addition to covering the marquee events on Fox this year, including the 95th MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta and the inaugural Speedway Classic, the show will travel to Dodger Stadium on Saturday, May 31, to furnish viewers with pregame coverage of the 2024 World Series re-match between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Fox.
Over the course of the 2025 campaign, Burkhardt, Chris Myers and Mike Hill host pregame and postgame studio programming from the FOX Sports studios in Los Angeles with a rotating cast of top-tier studio analysts, including former MLB players Dontrelle Willis and Eric Karros.
