With that in mind, let's get into this week's article!

Get ready for Sunday's Week #9 action with "The NFL Today presented by RAM Trucks" at 12:00 PM ET on CBSJames Brown hosts the one-hour program with a full cast of analysts, including Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Cowher, 11-year veteran Nate Burleson, and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan. Lead CBS Sports insider Jonathan Jones joins to provide the latest news and information around the National Football League. "The NFL Today" features highlights, analysis, and updates across the NFL landscape. This week, the show travels to Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, ahead of the highly anticipated Chiefs-Bills matchup later in the day.

A clash of AFC division leaders sees Juan Thornhill and the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) host Nick Cross and the Indianapolis Colts (7-1) on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Ian Eagle (play-by-play), three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner JJ Watt (analyst), & Evan Washburn (reporter) providing commentary. Colts RB Jonathan Taylor increased his NFL-best touchdown total to 14 by scoring three in a lopsided win over the Titans on October 26. The Colts beat the Steelers 27-24 in 2024.

Darius Slayton and the short-handed New York Giants (2-6) host Deommodore Lenoir and the San Francisco 49ers (5-3) on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, featuring Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, & Melanie Collins from East Rutherford. The 49ers lost 26-15 to the Texans in Week 8, resulting in shock for many people. 49ers TE George Kittle had four receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown in Week 8 against the Texans. 49ers LB Tatum Bethune (filling in for the injured Fred Warner) had a career-high 14 tackles last Sunday vs. the Texans. The Giants were soundly defeated 38-20 last week in Philadelphia by the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. The Giants, already without their top wideout, Malik Nabers (knee), lost exciting rookie running back Cam Skattebo for the season (ankle) last Sunday in Philadelphia. Giants RB Devin Singletary compiled 83 scrimmage yards (61 rush, 22 rec.) in his only career game vs. San Francisco (December 7, 2020, with the Bills). Giants S Dane Belton had seven tackles last week vs. the Eagles.

Marcus Jones and the AFC East-leading New England Patriots (6-2) vie for their sixth straight victory as they host Tyler Allgeier and the Atlanta Falcons (3-4) on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty (analyst), Charles Davis (analyst), & AJ Ross (reporter) calling the action. The Falcons were vanquished by the Dolphins, 34-10, last week. Falcons TE Kyle Pitts Sr. led the Falcons in receptions in Week 7 (6) and Week 8 (9). Falcons rookie S Xavier Watts was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for September. The Patriots dominated in Week #8, beating the Browns 32-13. Patriots second-year QB Drake Maye leads the NFL in completion percentage (75.2%) after going 18-for-24 in a 32-13 win over the Browns last week. If Patriots WR Stefon Diggs makes at least one catch last week, he will become the 29th player in NFL history to have at least 900 career receptions.

Chase Brown and the Cincinnati Bengals (3-5) welcome Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears (4-3) to Paycor Stadium as both clubs look to regroup on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, & Aditi Kinkhabwala serving as the broadcast team. The Bears saw their four-game win streak snapped by the Ravens in Week #8.
Bears QB Caleb Williams achieved a season-high of 25 completions and threw for 285 yards in the previous week’s game against the Ravens. Meanwhile, Bears WR DJ Moore recorded 73 receiving yards in the matchup against Baltimore. Last week, the Bengals suffered a narrow defeat to the Jets, with a final score of 39-38, marking the first victory of the season for the previously winless New York team. Bengals WR Tee Higgins had a 44-yard receiving touchdown last week vs. the Jets, which was his 38th career receiving touchdown. Bengals LB Demetrius Knight Jr. led the team with a career-high 12 tackles last week vs. the Jets.

Khalil Mack and the Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) pay a visit to Nashville to play rookie QB Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans (1-7) on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, featuring Tom McCarthy & Ross Tucker in the booth, with Amanda Balionis on the sidelines. The Chargers crushed the Vikings 37-10 on "Thursday Night Football" last week. Chargers RB Kimani Vidal rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown. If Chargers LB Khalil Mack gets the starting call on Sunday, that would be the 170th start of his career. Chargers QB Justin Herbert leads all players this season with 2,140 passing yards and ranks No. 2 with 201 completions. The Titans were smashed 38-14 by the Colts last week at Lucas Oil Stadium. Following this week's contest, the Titans have their bye week. Titans QB Cam Ward (rookie) passed for 259 yards last week vs. the Colts. Titans LB Dre'Mont Jones has a sack in three straight games. Should Jones record at least one sack in the upcoming matchup on Sunday, it will signify his fourth consecutive game reaching this milestone. This achievement would make him the first player from the Titans to accomplish this since Harold Landry III in 2021, who achieved it over five games, and Denico Autry, who did so in four games during the same season.

The three-time defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) take on the Buffalo Bills (5-2) on Sunday, November 2, at 4:25 PM ET on CBS, with the lead NFL on CBS team of play-by-play commentator Jim Nantz, analyst Tony Romo, and reporter Tracy Wolfson on the call. The Buffalo Bills have emerged victorious in their last four regular-season encounters; however, the Kansas City Chiefs have maintained an identical winning streak against Buffalo in the postseason, having triumphed over the Bills with a score of 32-29 in the 2024 conference championship.
