MLB on Fox: On Deck | #America250: Fox celebrates America's 250th birthday with a pair of divisional matchups on "Baseball Night in America" — Cardinals vs. Cubs or Mets vs. Braves | Saturday, July 4 at 8:00 PM (ET) on Fox

| ■ Monday, June 29, 2026 |

πŸŸ‚ Highlights:
  • Fox is set to air a pair of regionalized matchups during America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4, Mets vs. Braves or Cardinals vs. Cubs, with coverage beginning at a special time of 8:00 PM ET.
  • This week’s edition of “Baseball Night in America” is preceded by the 2026 MLB All-Star Game selection show, starting at 7:30 PM ET.
  • After this week, Fox will have another Saturday without MLB next week (July 11) due to FIFA World Cup coverage, then return with weekly coverage on Saturday, July 18, for the remainder of the summer (with limited exceptions).
  • NL East Foes Square Off In The ATL: Bo Bichette and the New York Mets (35-49) battle Michael Harris II and the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (49-33) on Saturday, July 4, at 8:00 PM ET on Fox.
  • Cardinals-Cubs Rivalry Revisited: Blaze Jordan and the St. Louis Cardinals (43-38) match up with Dansby Swanson and the Chicago Cubs (46-38) on Saturday, July 4, at 8:00 PM ET on Fox.

Welcome back, TamirMoore.com blog readers! After taking off last Saturday due to the FIFA World Cup, Fox Sports returns to its season-long Major League Baseball coverage on Saturday, July 4, with two games regionalized across the country. Additionally, it’s the 250th birthday of America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ, so that’s something to keep in mind! There is NOTHING better than baseball and celebrating our wonderful country at the same time.

Baseball Night in America, Fox Sports’ marquee weekly MLB primetime show, returns to the menu just in time for the 4th of July on Saturday, July 4, with a special 8:00 PM ET start. This week, Fox will broadcast a National League East rivalry as Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets visit Ronald AcΓ±ua Jr. and the Atlanta Braves, or Masyn Winn and the St. Louis Cardinals clash with Michael Busch and the Chicago Cubs in the latest edition of that famous Midwestern rivalry. Which game will you be getting on Independence Day, and who’s set to call the game? Read on to find out.

I should mention that Fox will precede “Baseball Night in America” this Saturday with a special half-hour program that will reveal the 2026 MLB All-Star Game rosters, starting at 7:30 PM (ET).

Cardinals vs. Cubs — Saturday, 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT on Fox:
Two longtime rivals renew their longstanding rivalry on the familiar diamond at Chicago’s Wrigley Field as rookie sensation JJ Wetherholt and the St. Louis Cardinals (44-38) play Seiya Suzuki and the Chicago Cubs (48-38) for the middle game of a divisional weekend series on Saturday, July 4, at 8:00 PM ET on Fox. This is the second series of the year between the Cubs and Cardinals, as the two ancient rivals previously met in late May at Busch Stadium, with St. Louis taking two out of three. With both teams in the playoff hunt, this series is crucial for both.

The lead MLB on Fox broadcast team of Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst), and Emmy-Award winning reporter Ken Rosenthal (field reporter) provide commentary for Cardinals-Cubs from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

St. Louis is positioned nicely in the National League Wild Card hunt as they enter the July 4th weekend. As of Tuesday, June 30, they are tied with the Miami Marlins for the National League’s final Wild Card spot. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol and his team now look ahead to this important series against a division foe which is also in the playoff mix, just like themselves. The Cardinals feature 24-year-old rising star Jordan Walker, a former 1st-round pick by St. Louis in 2020, who leads the team in home runs (18) and runs batted in (38). The Cardinals defeated the Braves 5-3 on Tuesday down in Atlanta; the win was powered by home runs from Nathan Church (6) and Nelson VelΓ‘zquez (3).

Things are getting good in the Windy City, as of late, folks. The Cubs have now won 14 of the past 18 games to find themselves at 48-38 on the season. During Chicago’s most recent four-game winning streak, the Cubs have totaled 24 runs over this span. The Cubs clipped the Padres, 9-7, on Tuesday night in a rematch of last year’s Wild Card Series between these teams. Cubs 3B Alex Bregman launched a three-home run in the Chicago night, while Cubs SS Dansby Swanson collected two home runs on the night. Swanson leads the Cubs in runs batted in with 49.

Mets vs. Braves — Saturday, 8:00 PM ET on Fox:
Two clubs on completely different ends of the spectrum clash for the second game of a three-game weekend set as Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets (36-50) face off against Drake Baldwin and the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (49-34) on Saturday, July 4, at 8:00 PM ET on Fox. It seems the 2026 season is completely lost for the Mets, while the Braves remain one of the best teams in the National League despite recent adversity. Believe it or not, the Mets are 2-1 vs. Atlanta in the 2026 regular season series, with New York besting Atlanta in a three-game set at Citi Field in June.

Fox Sports' Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski (analyst) will call Mets-Braves from Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

Things have been disastrous in New York this season, with the Mets starting the year 10-21. After a promising 16-12 record in May, things have taken a downturn. The Mets went 9-17 in June, and last week, manager Carlos Mendoza was dismissed and replaced by interim manager Andy Green. Nevertheless, the Mets managed a 3-0 shutout against the Blue Jays on Tuesday in Toronto, with Nolan McLean pitching six scoreless innings.

The Braves are significantly outperforming the Mets, with a 49-34 record, and are entering the July 4th weekend with momentum πŸ”₯. However, even top teams face challenges over a long 162-game season. On June 7, the Braves stood strong with a 45-21 record and a 9.5-game lead in the NL East. Since then, though, Atlanta has slowed down, posting a 4-13 record and suffering back-to-back series losses to the Padres and Giants. As a result, Atlanta’s NL East lead has been shaved down from 9.5 games on June 7 to just 2.5 games as of June 30. The Braves dropped their series opener with the Cardinals, 5-3, on Tuesday evening despite CF Michael Harris II knocking in two of the three runs.

πŸŸ… Highlights:
  • Following a rare week off, “Baseball Night in America” on Fox is BACK this Saturday!
  • Viewers can watch one of two games on Saturday, June 20, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox — Mets vs. Phillies or Guardians vs. Astros (check your local listings or the bottom of this article for additional information).
  • Classic Rivals Meet in Primetime: MJ Melendez and the New York Mets play Trea Turner and the Philadelphia Phillies in an NL East showdown on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on Fox.
  • Guardians, Astros Tangle In H-Town: Brayan Rocchio and the Cleveland Guardians take on Cam Smith and the Houston Astros on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on Fox.
  • As a reminder, there will be NO MLB on Fox: On Deck” article next week. The weekly articles will return on Monday, June 29 (or around that time).

Welcome back, guys! Apologies for no “MLB on Fox: On Deck” article last week. Fox moved Phillies-Brewers over to FS1, and Astros-Royals was dropped from the schedule entirely. We are back in business this week! It is worth noting that Fox will have only TWO Saturdays of MLB coverage over five weeks, from June 13 through July 11 (June 20, July 4), due to its prior commitment to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Bo Bichette and the New York Mets (32-39) try to make a mid-season push towards a postseason berth against Brandon Marsh and the Philadelphia Phillies (38-33), in possession of one of three NL Wild Card spots, on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on Fox, highlighting Fox Sports’ two-game Major League Baseball slate for this week.

Baseball Night in America, Fox Sports’ weekly MLB primetime series, returns after a one-week hiatus with regionalized coverage of two games on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on the Fox broadcast network. This week, Marcus Semien and the New York Mets visit Alec Bohm and the Philadelphia Phillies, or Jeremy PeΓ±a and the Houston Astros host JosΓ© RamΓrez and the Cleveland Guardians. Which game will your local Fox station televise, and who’s calling the action? Read on to find out the answers.

Mets vs. Phillies — Saturday, 7:00 PM ET on Fox:
Longtime National League East rivals are set to tussle again as Francisco Alvarez and the New York Mets (32-40) square off against Justin Crawford and the Philadelphia Phillies (39-33) on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on Fox. Saturday’s game is the second game of a three-game weekend set, as the NL East teams meet for the first time this season. The Mets won the season series last year between these clubs, with New York winning seven of the 13 regular-season matchups.

The MLB on Fox lead team of Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst), and Emmy Award-winning reporter Ken Rosenthal (Field reporter) will provide commentary for the Mets-Phillies game from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Mets (32-40) faced a tough start to the 2026 season, going 10-21 in their first 31 games (March/April), including a harsh 12-game losing streak from April 8 to April 21. They have also been battling injuries, notably SS Francisco Lindor (calf), who is out for an extended period. Fortunately, the Mets expect the five-time MLB All-Star to return soon. Since May began, they have compiled a 22-18 record and are now aiming to close the gap in the National League Wild Card race, trailing the Padres by 5.5 games for the final NL playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the Phillies (39-33) have recovered from a poor 9-19 start that led to the firing of manager Rob Thomson and the appointment of Don Mattingly as interim manager. Since then, the team has gone 30-14 over the last 44 games. On Monday night, Philadelphia defeated the Marlins 7-0, with home runs from J.T. Realmuto (5th of the season) and rookie Gabriel Rincones Jr. (first MLB HR). The Phillies are currently the second National League Wild Card team, just behind the Cardinals and 1.5 games ahead of the Padres.

Guardians vs. Astros — Saturday, 7:00 PM ET on Fox:
A pair of American League franchises duel on “Baseball Night in America” when Austin Hedges and the Cleveland Guardians (39-33) compete against Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros (33-41) on Saturday, June 20, at 7:15 PM ET on Fox. Saturday marks the middle game of this three-game series between Cleveland and Houston, with the Astros up 2-1 in the season series after a series victory at Cleveland’s Progressive Field in late April (April 20-April 22).

Fox Sports’ Kenny Albert (play-by-play) will call play-by-play for Guardians-Astros, alongside AJ Pierzynski (analyst), who won a World Series championship with the White Sox in 2005.

The Guardians (39-33) are involved in a tight American League Central race between themselves and the upstart Chicago White Sox (38-32). Meaning that this weekend’s series in Houston is very critical for Cleveland, as the team can’t afford to stumble if they want to either remain in a first-place tie or take sole possession of first place in the American League Central. Recently, the Guardians picked up two wins against their division rival, the Tigers, in a weekend series shortened after Sunday’s game was postponed. Guardians LF Angel MartΓnez leads the team with 11 home runs.

The Astros (33-41) have struggled with consistency in 2026, spending most of the season at or below .500. Consequently, they’ve fallen 4.5 games behind in the AL West (led by Seattle) and 4.0 games back in the AL Wild Card race (the A’s currently hold the last Wild Card spot). The team urgently needs a lengthy winning streak to gain momentum and establish itself as a serious contender in the American League. On Monday night, the Astros were defeated 9-3 by the Tigers in the series opener at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas.

MLB on Fox: On Deck | Kevin Burkhardt and the "MLB on Fox" studio crew take their talents to the broadcast booth, as they will work the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry game this Saturday (or Guardians vs. Rangers in select markets) | Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM (ET) on Fox

Fox Sports’ lead MLB studio team (from L to R) — host Kevin Burkhardt, 2009 World Series champion Alex Rodriguez, Hall of Famer David Ortiz & Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. This week, Fox has assigned the studio team to game announcing duties for Saturday’s Red Sox-Yankees game. (Fox Sports)

| ⏵ Tuesday, June 2, 2026

πŸŸ† Highlights:
  • Baseball Night in America” returns to Fox on Saturday, June 6, with a special 7:30 PM ET start time. The Guardians square off against the Rangers in the middle game of the three-game weekend series.
  • Legends In The Booth: Three vital members of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry — Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz & Derek Jeter — will be calling Saturday’s Red Sox-Yankees game alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt.
  • Rivalry Renewed: Jarren Duren and the Boston Red Sox visit Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees in the latest chapter of this storied rivalry on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM ET on Fox.
  • Lone Star State Tussle: Brandon Nimmo and the Texas Rangers host Brayan Rocchio and the Cleveland Guardians in this American League matchup on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM CT) on Fox.
  • Just Fox games for this week. FS1 is off this Saturday and will not be showing MLB Saturday games again until mid-July.

One of baseball’s best rivalries takes center stage this weekend on “Baseball Night in America” as Trent Grisham and the New York Yankees (36-25) host Caleb Durbin and the Boston Red Sox (26-34) in another chapter of the historic Yankees-Red Sox series on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM ET on Fox, highlighting Fox Sports’ two-game Major League Baseball coverage for this week.

A few housekeeping notes before we go any further. First, FS1 isn’t airing a Saturday game this week, so we will only be covering the Big Fox games for this week’s “MLB on Fox: On Deck” article. And secondly, we learned on Wednesday that Fox has chosen to drop their regional coverage for next Saturday (June 13) to televise some FIFA World Cup rematches. As a result, there will be NO “MLB on Fox: On Deck” article for next week. An early heads up for you guys there.

With that in mind, let’s talk about Saturday’s Guardians-Rangers contest.

“Baseball Night in America”: Red Sox vs. Yankees or Guardians vs. Rangers — Saturday, 7:30 PM ET on Fox:
Baseball Night in America, Fox Sports’ weekly MLB primetime series, continues on Saturday, June 6, with a primetime matchup at 7:30 PM ET on Fox. This week, the entire country will watch the Cleveland Guardians visit the Texas Rangers as a result of Saturday’s Red Sox-Yankees rainout.

Red Sox vs. Yankees:
Longtime American League rivals clash again as Wilyer Abreu and the Boston Red Sox (26-34) face Ben Rice and the New York Yankees (36-25) on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM ET on Fox. As a special treat, Fox Sports is assigning its lead studio team of Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play), World Series champion Alex Rodriguez (analyst), Hall of Famers Derek Jeter (analyst) & David Ortiz (analyst) to call this game. As you know, Rodriguez, Jeter & Ortiz are three members of this transcendent Red Sox-Yankees rivalry.

This is a crucial part of the Red Sox’s schedule as they try to catch some fire πŸ”₯ before the summer. Boston is currently 10.5 GB behind the Rays for first place in the AL East and 3.5 GB behind the Athletics for the third Wild Card spot in the American League. Boston is in the middle of a three-series stretch vs. AL East rivals (the Orioles currently, the Yankees this weekend, and the division-leading Rays early next week). On Wednesday night, they crushed the Orioles 8-1 at Fenway Park, behind three RBI from RF Wilyer Abreu and three hits from CF Ceddanne Rafela. Can Boston get things cooking before the All-Star Break?

For the Yankees, it’s the same old mantra every year — “World Series or BUST”. And so far in 2026, the Yankees are showing that they are a contender out in the American League. New York is trying to keep pace with first-place Tampa Bay in the American League East (1 GB as of Wednesday, June 3). Yankees 1B Ben Rice leads the team in runs scored (46) and runs batted in (44). Plus, Rice is tied with Yankees slugger Aaron Judge for the team lead with 17 home runs. However, the Yankees are in a funk, having dropped the first two games of their series against the Guardians. New York dropped a 5-4 decision to Cleveland on Wednesday night, despite Rice’s (one run, one hit) and 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s (one run, one hit, on RBI) best efforts.

Guardians vs. Rangers — Saturday, 7:30 PM ET on Fox:
JosΓ© RamΓrez and the American League Central-leading Cleveland Guardians (36-27) visit Joc Pederson and the Texas Rangers (30-32) on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM CT local) on Fox. Fox Sports’ Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Eric Karros (analyst) provide commentary for Guardians-Rangers from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Do you guys remember Cleveland’s remarkable second-half surge to SNATCH the AL Central away from the Tigers last year? In case you missed it, Cleveland trailed by 15.5 GB in the division in early July. Then the Guardians heated up, posting a 20-7 September record, and somehow won a division championship they probably should not have won. Cleveland doesn’t need to worry about it in 2026, as the Guardians hold a 2.5 GB lead over the White Sox for the top spot in the American League Central. Home runs from JosΓ© RamΓrez (9), Rhys Hoskins (6), and Kyle Manzardo (7) fueled Cleveland’s 5-4 win over the Yankees on Wednesday, giving them the series victory with Thursday’s series finale still to come.

The Rangers have shown signs of life recently. Before Wednesday’s 5-3 loss to the Cardinals, the Rangers strung together five consecutive wins as they aim to track down the Athletics for the last Wild Card spot and the Mariners for first place in the American League West. Two major contributors for the Rangers are third baseman Josh Jung and first baseman Jake Burger. Burger leads the team in runs (30) and runs batted in (37). As for Jung, he leads the club in hits (67) and doubles (16). The Rangers try to reach the .500 mark (with wins on Friday and Saturday) and even surpass it (with a series sweep) during this Guardians series.

Carolina made it to the Stanley Cup Final after defeating the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final, four games to one. Carolina was the No. 1 seed from the Metropolitan Division, securing the East’s best record (53-22-7, 113 points). The Hurricanes swept the Ottawa Senators in the first round and dispatched the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round via a four-game series sweep.

This is Carolina’s third Stanley Cup Final appearance, and its first one since winning the Stanley Cup title way back in 2006.

2026 College Football on USA Network Schedule

Logo used for the second incarnation of USA Sports (2025-present). (USA Network)

| ⏵ Thursday, May 28, 2026

πŸŸ… Highlights:
  • USA Sports launches its Pac-12 football package in 2026.
  • The 22-game lineup includes home games from every Pac-12 school, at least six from Oregon State, and five from Washington State & Boise State.
  • Consistent game times USA to present Pac-12 football doubleheaders on most Saturdays, with games at 6:00 PM ET and 9:30 PM ET.
  • FLEX! USA Sports can flex in TWO games on Saturday, November 28, with the games to be determined after Week 12’s play.
  • Battle for the Bronze Boot” gets USA Sports’ college football coverage underway, with Wyoming playing Colorado State on Saturday, September 5, at 6:00 PM ET.

USA Sports announced its on-air schedule for its 2026 Pac-12 football coverage, marking the first season USA Network will air Pac-12 college football.

USA Sports’ 2026 Pac-12 football schedule. (Versant Press Room)

USA Network’s 22-game schedule has multiple games from each school in the newly formed Pac-12, with at least one home game for each club. Oregon State will have six games on the station (the most of any Pac-12 team) this year. In contrast, Boise State, which won its third consecutive conference championship in 2025 and reached the College Football Playoff the year prior, and Washington State get five games on USA Network. USA Network will broadcast every game between these three programs, including Washington State-Oregon State in Week 7 (October 17), Boise State-Washington State in Week 8 (October 24), & Oregon State-Boise State in Week 11 (November 14).

A noticeable feature of USA Network’s 2026 Pac-12 football coverage is a regular kickoff time for doubleheader games — 6:00 PM ET and 9:30 PM ET. 17 of their 22 games will be slotted in these two time windows. In the final week of the regular season, USA Sports will have two FLEX matchups from the Pac-12’s home-and-home format on Saturday, November 28, allowing USA to televise games that will hopefully have some meaning to them when the time comes. Additionally, the USA Network will have first pick during this week. These Week 13 USA games will be determined after the Week 12 slate.

“We can’t wait to kick off USA Sports’ inaugural season of Pac-12 coverage this fall on USA Network,” said Mariel Brady, VP, Programming, USA Sports. “Our 2026 Pac-12 schedule features an incredibly strong intraconference slate and top-tier matchups throughout the season’s stretch run, punctuated by the first pick of Week 13’s flex scheduling.”

The season begins on USA Network with a non-conference double dip on Saturday, September 5, as Colorado State, in Jim Mora’s debut as head coach of the Rams, hosts their rival Wyoming in the Border War duel for the Bronze Boot at 6:00 PM ET, followed by Portland State-San Diego State at 9:30 PM ET.

The early-season non-conference game lineup on USA Network includes Boise State hosting Memphis in a Week 2 clash on Saturday, September 12, at 6:00 PM ET and Texas State going up against North Texas, who finished the 2025 season with a 12-2 record and were ranked No. 24 in the final AP Top 25 poll, in Week 3 (Saturday, September 19) at 12:00 PM ET.

On Saturday, September 19, during Week 3, USA Network will deliver an extensive lineup of sports programming, featuring three Pac-12 games, early-morning Premier League coverage, and live NASCAR Cup Series coverage from Bristol Motor Speedway. After the Premier League broadcast, the game between North Texas and Texas State will commence at 12:00 PM ET. This will be succeeded by the matchup between Duquesne and Washington State at 3:30 PM ET, while the day will conclude with the game featuring Montana at Oregon State at 11:00 PM ET, following the NASCAR night race in Bristol.

The Pac-12 conference schedule kicks off in Week 5, with USA Network presenting a Saturday primetime doubleheader on October 3, featuring Oregon State vs. Colorado State at 6:00 PM ET and Fresno State vs. Washington State at 9:30 PM ET.

In Week 7, two legacy Pac-12 members face off on USA Network as Washington State visits Oregon State on Saturday, October 17 at 6:00 PM ET.

USA Network will have the rights to four in-conference Boise State games, including at Washington State (Saturday, October 24 at 6:00 PM ET), and three consecutive late-season matchups at Colorado State (Saturday, November 7), and home games vs. Oregon State (Saturday, November 14) and San Diego State (Saturday, November 21).

More information about USA Sports’ studio and game commentators for Pac-12 football will be announced later in the summer.
