Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Week #8 edition of the "NFL on CBS: Field Pass". This Sunday (October 26), CBS Sports has an NFL doubleheader lined up. CBS has five games to show split between two windows. In the early window (1:00 PM ET), we have Bears-Ravens, Dolphins-Falcons, & Jets-Bengals. Then, in the national doubleheader window at 4:25 PM ET, we have Cowboys-Broncos & Titans-Colts. As of this writing, we are approaching the midway point of the NFL's 2025 regular season. Damn! James Brown hosts the one-hour program with a full cast of analysts, including Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Cowher, 11-year veteran Nate Burleson, and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan. "The NFL Today" features highlights, analysis, and updates across the NFL landscape.
Zay Flowers and the Baltimore Ravens (1-5) return from their bye week to host Caleb Williams and the sizzling-hot Chicago Bears (4-2) on Sunday, October 26, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Ian Eagle (play-by-play), JJ Watt (analyst), & Evan Washburn (reporter) calling the action from Baltimore. The Ravens hope to have two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson back in the lineup from a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 4 at the Chiefs. The Bears try for their first five-game winning streak since 2018.
For the first time in four years, Malik Washington and the Miami Dolphins (1-6) square off against Drake London and the Atlanta Falcons (3-3) on Sunday, October 26, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Kevin Harlan (play-by-play), Trent Green (analyst), & Melanie Collins (reporter) on the call from Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Dolphins were blown out by the Browns, 31-6, last week. Meanwhile, the Falcons dropped a 20-10 decision to the 49ers on "Sunday Night Football" last week. Dolphins RB De'Von Achane had 98 scrimmage yards (82 rushing, 16 receiving) in Week 7 vs. the Browns. Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb has a sack in 3 of 4 road games in 2025. The Falcons have a record of 9 wins and 5 losses against the Dolphins, having secured a 30-28 victory over Miami in 2021. Falcons S Jessie Bates had a season-high 10 tackles last week vs. the 49ers.
Jordan Battle and the Cincinnati Bengals (3-4) host Brandon Stephens and the winless New York Jets (0-7) on Sunday, October 26, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, as play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes teams up with analyst and former NFL safety Adam Archuleta and reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala for the game call. The Jets lost 13-6 to the Panthers last Sunday. The Bengals stunned the Steelers, 33-31, on "Thursday Night Football" last week. The Jets remain the lone winless team in the NFL after last week's loss to Carolina. Jets RB Breece Hall had 52 scrimmage yards (38 rushing, 14 receiving) in Week 7 vs. the Panthers. Bengals QB Joe Flacco was sharp with 342 yards through the air and three TD passes to help Cincinnati fend off Pittsburgh in Week 7. Bengals CB DJ Turner had 2 PD & 2nd-career INT last week vs. the Steelers.
Courtland Sutton and the Denver Broncos (5-2) host Markquese Bell and the Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) on Sunday, October 26, at 4:25 PM ET on CBS, as play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz, analyst and former NFL QB Tony Romo, and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson will be in Denver for the game broadcast. Teams down 18 points with six minutes to play in the fourth quarter lost 1,602 consecutive games before the Broncos' 33-32 triumph over the Giants in Week 7. Denver set a franchise record with 33 points in that fourth quarter.
Jonathan Taylor and the best team in football, the 6-1 Indianapolis Colts, host Quandre Diggs and the hapless Tennessee Titans (1-6) in AFC South divisional play on Sunday, October 26, at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. Play-by-play commentator Andrew Catalon, analyst Charles Davis, fellow analyst and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty, and reporter AJ Ross headline the late afternoon presentation on CBS from the Circle City. Tennessee was crushed by New England, 31-13, last Sunday in Nashville. The Colts picked up a 38-24 road win over the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood last Sunday. Titans RB Tony Pollard had 61 scrimmage yards (43 receiving, 18 rushing) last week vs. the Patriots. Titans S Amani Hooker had 6 tackles last week. The Colts have won 5 straight meetings following a 41-20 win in Week 3 behind Jonathan Taylor's 102 yards and three scores. Colts RB Jonathan Taylor leads the NFL with 697 rushing yards and 11 total TDs.
