With the Division Series starting to wind down, it is time for us to move on and look ahead to the League Championship Series. The LCS round will open up this Tuesday night. But before we talk about the LCS, a special congratulations goes to the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres for their Division Series wins this weekend. Watching the scenes at Petco Park and Citizens Bank Park were remarkable and awesome to say the least.
Now, it is time to set the table for the League Championship Series. Starting on Tuesday night, each of the MLB's last four remaining postseason teams compete for a right to punch a ticket to the 2022 World Series.
The National League Championship Series opens up on Tuesday, October 18th at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on FS1 as Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies take on Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series to determine which squad will win the National League pennant. The Phillies look to earn their first World Series berth since 2009, and the Padres aim to lock down a World Series berth for the first time since 1998. Play-by-play announcer Joe Davis, in his first season as FOX's lead MLB play-by-play commentator, and analyst John Smoltz are in the booth for the Phillies-Padres NLCS series. Joining Davis and Smoltz on the broadcasts are reporters Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci.
The American League Championship Series opens on Wednesday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on TBS as Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros play host to Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series to figure out the American League representative in the 2022 World Series. The Yankees look to advance to the World Series for the first time since 2009. The Astros look to return to the World Series for the 2nd straight year, and the fourth time in the last six years. The ALCS broadcast team on TBS will be led by play-by-play announcer Brian Anderson, joined by analysts Ron Darling and Jeff Francoeur, with Lauren Shehadi reporting from the field.
