ESPN and the Walt Disney's Company 'NFL on ESPN' 2023-24 schedule expands to a company-high 25 games (23 regular season plus 2 playoff games). This will be the 54th season of "Monday Night Football" and the 18th season of coverage of ESPN. Fans will now have 20 Monday Night Football games, including three weeks (Weeks 2, 3 and 14) with multiple games on the same night (ABC + ESPN), flex scheduling starting in Week 12, and a Divisional Round game for the very first time on ABC/ESPN.
The ESPN+ exclusive International game (Week 4), a doubleheader with postseason implications in Week 18, the Super Wild Card Weekend Monday night playoff game, the Monday Night Football commentators of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Lisa Salters, and Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, all added over the past two seasons, all return. The schedule improvements correspond in high profile teams, signature games, and key storylines.
All of these elements combine for the most-anticipated slate in the network's history.

- More Monday Night Football: 20 Monday Night Football games, which includes an increase (three) in multiple games on the same night.
- Christmas Night: For 2023 only, on Christmas night (Monday, December 25), ABC will televise a fourth exclusive Monday Night Football game -- Baltimore vs. San Francisco at 8:15 PM (ET).
- Week 17: For 2023 only, Monday Night Football's Week 17 contest will move to Saturday, December 30, instead -- Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys (8:15 PM ET).
- Flex Scheduling: Flex scheduling can be used for Monday Night Football beginning in Week 12 through Week 17.
- Peyton and Eli Return: Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli returns for the third straight year with a 10-game schedule, which will begin in Week 1 (Buffalo vs. NY Jets). The remaining games will be announced later on.
- NFL International Series begins on ESPN+: ESPN+ will exclusively televise the Atlanta Falcons vs. Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 1 (Week 4), from Wembley Stadium.
- Doubleheader Saturday: Week 18's doubleheader Saturday (January 6) returns once again this season (4:30 p.m. ET and 8:15 p.m. ET), with the matchups being announced following the conclusion of Week 17. Both games will air on ABC and ESPN.
- Monday Night Wild Card: ABC and ESPN will once more end Super Wild Card weekend with a matchup on Monday night, January 15, for the third straight year on ABC and ESPN -- 8:15 p.m. ET.
- Divisional Round Added: ESPN will air a divisional playoff game for the first time ever on either Saturday, January 20 or Sunday, January 21. The game is scheduled to be aired on both ABC and ESPN.
Also, Chris Fowler (play-by-play) joins the Monday Night Football family as the secondary play-by-play announcer, alongside analysts Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick. Laura Rutledge handles sideline reports. The secondary crew will work five games during the season (Weeks 2, 3, 4, 14 and 18).
Furthermore, it was revealed on Monday, September 18 that due to ongoing writers' strike, ABC will now air Monday Night Football every single week during the season, via a simulcast or as a exclusive telecast (on nights that ESPN will also carry a game).
