This week's MLB on Fox: On Deck highlights include:
  • Due to prior college football commitments, Fox is moving MLB coverage to Thursday night this week.
  • A Rivalry Renewed: Red Sox-Yankees: Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees open up a important weekend series against their bitter rival, Roman Anthony and the Boston Red Sox, on Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox.
  • Astros, Orioles Meet In Pivotal AL Clash: Two clubs heading in opposite directions collide in Baltimore as Jose Altuve and the AL West leading Houston Astros look to stop a four-game slide against Colton Cowser and the Baltimore Orioles, looking to make a late-season push towards the postseason, on Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox.

Hi, everybody and welcome to this week's edition of MLB on Fox: On Deck! You may notice that this week's games are slated for Thursday night instead of Saturday. Fox will air the Fresno State vs. Kansas college football Saturday evening, necessitating a change in Major League Baseball coverage to a different night.

Fox's Thursday night primetime lineup is packed with American League teams as the race for the postseason continues to intensify daily. On Thursday, August 21, at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox, the network will regionally televise one of two games to your local market — Red Sox vs. Yankees or Astros vs. Orioles. Which game will your local Fox station be showing come Thursday, and who's scheduled to call the action? Continue reading to find out the answers.

Most of the country will be getting a traditional American League East rivalry as Ceddanne Rafela and the Boston Red Sox visit Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees on Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox. Currently, the Red Sox are on a five-game winning streak vs. their longtime rival. Boston previously swept out the Yankees during a series at Fenway Park in mid-June. This three-game sweep was the beginning of a downfall for New York, as the team went from 4.5 GB up in the AL East to 5.5 GB behind in the division race. However, the Yankees have found their footing. Recently, they swept the Cardinals in a three-game series at Busch Stadium. As you know, Boston has remarkably turned their season around against all odds. Both teams are looking up at Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East division hunt. However, this series is important. Especially, when you look at the American League Wild Card race. The Yankees have the first AL Wild Card spot, while the Red Sox have the second AL Wild Card spot. 🎙 The MLB on Fox lead team of play-by-play commentator Joe Davis, analyst and Hall of Famer John Smoltz, & Emmy-Award winning reporter Ken Rosenthal will provide commentary.

Select audiences are scheduled to be sent down at Baltimore as Carlos Correa and the American League West leading Houston Astros open up a crucial series against Jackson Holliday and the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 PM (ET) on Fox. These teams meet for the second time this season. Earlier this season, Baltimore took two out of three vs. the Astros at Daikin Park in Houston. Is it me or is Houston always involved in meaningful games late in the season? This veteran led Astros squad understands the significance of this time of the season. Right now, the Astros are faltering and desperately need a win. Houston was swept by the Tigers earlier this week at Comerica Park, and arrived in Baltimore on a four-game losing streak. This series for Houston is a must-win because Julio Rodriguez and the Seattle Mariners are breathing down their necks near the top of the American League West. Meanwhile, the Orioles look to salvage their season following the firing of manager Brandon Hyde in the early portion of the season. With a month left in regular season play, Baltimore needs to rack up as many wins as possible to stay alive in a super crowded American League Wild Card race. 🎙 Veteran play-by-play announcer Adam Amin joins analyst and 2005 World Series champion A.J. Pierzynski in the booth.
