Highlights for the Week #5 edition of the "NFL on CBS: Field Pass" include:
  • Regional coverage is the main storyline for CBS this weekend, as they have the right to televise either a 1:00 PM ET or 4:05 PM ET game to every station across the country during Week #5.
  • "The NFL Today powered by RAM Trucks" is back in New York City for the Week 5 singleheader, beginning at 12:00 PM ET on Sunday afternoon, featuring the recognizable cast of James Brown, Nate Burleson, Matt Ryan, Bill Cowher, and Jonathan Jones.
  • Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos (2-2) visit Jalen Hurts and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (4-0) on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS.

Welcome to Week #5 of the 2025 NFL regular season! This Sunday, October 5, CBS Sports will deliver regional coverage of an exciting lineup of games. Fans can look forward to five compelling matchups throughout the day. In the early afternoon window at 1:00 PM ET, viewers will get one of three game matchups: Broncos-Eagles, Giants-Saints, & Texans-Ravens. At 4:05 PM ET, viewers in certain regions can choose to watch either the Titans vs. Cardinals game or the Buccaneers vs. Seahawks game. In this week's NFL on CBS: Field Pass, we will preview the Sunday CBS slate, along with accompanying distribution for each matchup. Let's get started!

Pregame coverage on CBS begins at 12:00 PM ET with "The NFL Today powered by RAM Trucks". This show will have highlights, interviews, predictions, and analysis from an esteemed lineup of talent. Veteran sportscaster James Brown serves as host, joined by analyst and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson, analyst and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, and analyst and Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach Bill Cowher. Lead NFL on CBS insider Jonathan Jones joins the program to provide additional insight and perspective from around the National Football League.

DeVonta Smith and the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (4-0) try to retain the distinction of being the last unbeaten team in the NFC when they host the Denver Broncos (2-2) on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with play-by-play commentator Jim Nantz, analyst Tony Romo, and reporter Tracy Wolfson on the call. Broncos QB Bo Nix threw for 326 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as Denver crushed Cincinnati 28-3 to close out in Week #4.

Christian Kirk and the Houston Texans (1-3) face Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens (1-3) in an AFC matchup that has both squads needing a victory to get their season back on track following a poor start on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Ian Eagle (play-by-play), JJ Watt (analyst), & Evan Washburn (reporter) providing commentary. Last week, the Texans earned their first victory of the season with a 26-0 shutout win over the Titans. Last week, the Ravens were demolished 37-20 by the reigning three-time AFC champion Chiefs. Texans RB Woody Marks and Texans WR Jayden Higgins scored touchdowns last week vs. the Titans, becoming the fifth rookie duo in franchise history to each score touchdowns in the same game. Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. had his first interception of the season last week vs. the Titans. The Ravens have been decimated by injury, with 10 starters currently dealing with it, including QB Lamar Jackson and CB Nate Wiggins, among others. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson leads the league in passing touchdowns with 10.

Two NFC teams match up in Week #5 from the Big Easy as Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants (1-3) take on Alontae Taylor and the winless New Orleans Saints (0-4) on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 PM ET on CBS, with Andrew Catalon, Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty, Charles Davis, and AJ Ross. The Giants are coming off a 21-18 victory last week against the Chargers. The Saints lost 31-19 to the Bills last week, their fourth straight loss. Giants QB Jaxson Dart (rookie) made his first career NFL start last week vs. the Chargers, going 13-for-20. The Giants are the only club in the National Football League to have three players who have at least eight quarterback hits (LB Abdul Carter, OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux, & OLB Brian Burns). Saints RB Alvin Kamara had 15 carries for 70 yards last week vs. the Bills. Saints DE Cameron Jordan recorded four tackles and a sack last week against the Bills.

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) square off against Riq Woolen and the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) in a pivotal Week #5 matchup from the NFC on Sunday, October 5, at 4:05 PM ET on CBS, with Kevin Harlan joining analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Green and reporter Melanie Collins to announce the NFC game. In a competitive match last week against the Eagles, the Buccaneers were narrowly defeated 31-25. The Seahawks squeezed out a 23-20 win over the Cardinals on "Thursday Night Football" last week. Both the Buccaneers and Seahawks are celebrating their 50th anniversary seasons in 2025. These squads joined the NFL in 1976 as expansion clubs. Tampa Bay and Seattle will wear throwback uniforms for the game on Sunday. Since joining the Buccaneers in 2023, Baker Mayfield has led the NFL with 77 touchdown passes and ranks second with 9,448 passing yards. Buccaneers WR Emeka Egubka (rookie) leads all rookies with 282 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions this season. The Seahawks lead the NFC in scoring defense (16.8 points per game allowed) and have recorded seven interceptions this season, tied for second-most in the NFL.

Cam Ward and the winless Tennessee Titans (0-4) attempt to finally get their first win of the season against Calais Campbell and the Arizona Cardinals (2-2) on Sunday, October 5, at 4:05 PM ET on CBS, featuring Spero Dedes (play-by-play), Adam Archuleta (analyst), & Aditi Kinkhabwala (reporter). The Titans were curb-stomped 26-0 last week by the Texans, handing them their fourth straight defeat. The Cardinals, meanwhile, have lost two consecutive games after a 2-0 start to the 2025 season (they lost to their division rival Seahawks last week). Titans QB Cam Ward (rookie) passed for 108 yards in Week 4. Titans S Amani Hooker had 5 tackles last week vs. the Texans. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray totaled 241 yards (200 pass, season-high 41 rush) & 2 pass TDs last week vs. the Seahawks. Cardinals S Jalen Thompson led the team with 9 tackles last week vs. the Seahawks.
