* Foremost presentation of NFC games featuring teams in most powerful markets (Dallas, New York City, Philadelphia, etc.)
* Must-see America's Game of the Week matchups include Cowboys at Bills, 49ers at Eagles & Cowboys at Jets
* Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day broadcasts carries on annual tradition of the NFL on FOX presenting biggest games on biggest days
* The historic 30th season of the NFL on FOX is in 2023!
Following a dreamlike season in 2022 which saw FOX Sports produce the most-watched regular season game and most-watched Super Bowl of all-time, the network celebrates 30 seasons of NFL coverage with the disclosing of the broadcast schedule for the 2023 NFL season.
FOX will be the main home for the league's biggest affairs during the 18-week regular season calendar with a lineup that includes a league-high nine appearances from the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. The NFL on FOX schedule includes at least 140 total appearances by NFC teams, and over 90% of NFL on FOX games feature at least one NFC team, continuing the network's time-honored tradition of presenting live coverage surrounding the teams in big and powerful markets.
FOX begins their 30th season on Sunday, September 10, with an exciting doubleheader headlined by the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears in America's Game of the Week -- the No. 1 show all of television the last 14 years.
Top America's Game of the Week matchups:
- Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets (Week 6)
- Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (Week 9)
- New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (Week 10)
- San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles (Week 13) - NFC Championship re-match
- Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills (Week 15)
- Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins (Week 16)
NFL on FOX 2023 Regular Season Highlights:
- FOX's well-established tradition of broadcasting from a military base installation on Veterans Day weekend continues this year as Giants battle the Cowboys on Sunday, November 12. The military base from which FOX NFL Kickoff and FOX NFL Sunday will originate from is set for announcement later on.
- The traditional Thanksgiving Day game comes back with the stuffing and everything else on Thursday, November 23 at 12:30 PM (ET) as Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers takes on Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions.
- FOX televises a Christmas Day game for the fourth straight season in 2023. The football loving fans across America will unwrap a traditional NFC East rivalry game as Saquon Barkley and the Giants visit Jalen Hurts and the Eagles on Monday, December 25 at 4:30 PM (ET).
Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play), Greg Olsen (analyst), Erin Andrews (reporter) & Tom Rinaldi (reporter) return for their second season (and probably last) together as FOX's lead broadcast team.
Starting in Week 3 (Sunday, September 24), I will be publishing weekly articles on this blog regarding the broadcast schedule and the market listings for the "NFL on FOX". So be sure to check those out! Links to these specific articles will be posted here.

You should probably put Burkhardt/Olsen/Andrews/Rinaldi for the Thanksgiving. If you're gonna do it for CBS, you should do it for FOX.
ReplyDeleteFor December 24th, It's the Cardinals with no period vs. the Bears at 4:25 pm Eastern Time on Fox!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by "with no period"?
DeleteMark, You need to ask Tamir this question! He accidentally put it there!
Delete@Mark T. @unknown I'm so sorry, guys. I actually placed a period (.) next to the Cardinals' name by mistake when I originally uploaded this. I fixed the mistake.
DeleteTamir, I will accept your apology! I appreciate you for making the correction!
DeleteMark, You need to accept Tamir's apology! He acknowledged the mistake that he has made!
DeleteI accept your apology, Tamir.
Delete@Mark T. It's okay, brother. I sincerely appreciate all of your contributions here!
DeleteThanks!
DeleteTamir, Unknown said that the Cardinals were "with no period". Could you please explain what they meant?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Sure Mark, I accidentally put a period next to the Cardinals name when I originally posted this. Someone saw it, and I removed the period while re-checking and editing it.
DeleteI see. Thanks!
DeleteWill FOX have 1 or 2 divisional round games? If it's 1, will CBS have 2?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. For this season, FOX will only have 1 divisional round game. And CBS will have only 1 divisional round game this season too. Beginning with this year (2023), as part of the new NFL television contract, ESPN/ABC will now air a divisional round game this season.
DeleteFrom now on, FOX (1), CBS (1), NBC/Peacock (1), and ESPN/ABC (1) will each air one game during the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Interesting. ABC's also airing the Super Bowl in a few years.
Delete@Mark T. Yes, they are. So that means ESPN/ABC would be airing THREE playoff games in Super Bowl years. Wild Card, Divisional, and Super Bowl.
DeleteWow.
DeleteI have a feeling we'll know who the announcers for FOX are once we find out the announcers for NO-HOU Sunday.
ReplyDeleteTamir, Look on Eye on Sky and Air Sports! They have the announcers for the first 4 weeks for FOX!
Delete@Mark T. Thanks bro! I looked at Eye on Sky and Air Sports today. Thank god Fake Rudy has some sources inside of FOX that allowed him to release the announcing assignments, because WE STILL HAD NOT had a FOX NFL release yet.
DeleteIt took longer than I expected. CBS did their announcers a month ago, so I thought FOX wouldn't be far behind.
Delete@Mark T. Me too! You would assume when FOX released their college football lineup earlier this week, that their NFL coverage release would not be that far behind, but apparently not.

Fox Sports will have Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen, Erin Andrews, and Tom Rinaldi on the call of Packers/Bears in Week 1. The group will then have Seahawks/Lions (W2), Bears/Chiefs (W3), and Patriots/Cowboys (W4).
ReplyDeleteFox Sports will have the voice of MLB Joe Davis, Daryl “Moose” Johnston, and Pam Oliver on the call of 49ers/Steelers in Week 1. The trio will then have Bears/Bucs (W2), Cowboys/Cardinals (W3), and Commanders/Eagles (W4).
Fox Sports will have ever rising star Adam Amin, Mark “Stink” Schlereth, and Kristina Pink on the call of Cardinals/Commanders in Week 1. The trio will then have Giants/Cardinals (W2), Falcons/Lions (W3), and Bengals/Titans (W4).

DeleteMark, The play by play announcer that would be on the call for the Vikings - Panthers game will be announced at a later time!
DeleteOk.
DeleteMy assumption is that it will be Brandon Gaudin, but anything is possible.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteWho will be filling in for the announcers who are calling playoff games? (Like Joe Davis, maybe Adam Amin)
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Well Mark, I think that Adam Amin will again serve as Joe Davis' fill-in during the MLB playoffs. Also, consider this, Amin might need to be replaced during Week 6 (Oct. 15, FOX NFL Doubleheader), since Amin is probably calling the #2 Divisional Series in the MLB that Joe (Davis) is not doing. So likely Amin is in for Davis again this year, and someone like Brandon Gaudin in for Amin during that one October week, and then likely Chris Myers or someone else filling in for Amin for the several weeks after that.
Delete* Excuse me, actually Sunday, Oct. 8 (Week 5).
DeleteI know Noah Eagle is with NBC now, but I wonder if he could fill in like he did last year.
DeleteMy Dolphins playing the Chiefs in Germany on November 5 is a crime. The game should be played in Arrowhead Stadium or Hard Rock Stadium. I'm highly upset about this. I'm going to be following your blog. GO DOLPHINS! 🐬🏈
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering why for week 3, FOX has their #1 and #2 teams calling the doubleheader games at the same time. I've never seen that before.
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Yeah, Mark, that's weird. Normally, in a doubleheader situation, the #1 team calls the lead "late" game and the #2 team calls the lead "early" game. Maybe the 1 p.m. slate that day is kinda yucky, and the Cowboys (so-called America's Team, although NOT TO ME in part because I am an Eagles fan and vehemently hate the Cowboys) draw ratings, I guess. That's the only reason I can see why FOX decided to send the top crews both to late games in Week 3.
DeleteYeah, I agree. (Also an Eagles fan BTW) Neither game in the late window seems appealing to me.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIs Rob Gronkowski still on the pregame/postgame shows? Or is he just a playoff commentator?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Rob Gronkowski will be appearing on FOX NFL Sunday tomorrow for Week 1. I think you will see Rob fill-in for Jimmy Johnson during singleheader weeks because Johnson has done the pregame show from his home in Florida in recent seasons due to his age (and due to the pandemic as well).
ReplyDeleteBut, Rob Gronkowski will make multiple appearances throughout the year, probably during halftime and "The OT" postgame show (perhaps) for doubleheader games.
Okay. That makes a lot of sense. Would Johnson film from his house during halftime/postgame coverage?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Last season, Johnson did indeed make appearances from Florida during the pregame show only (on singleheader weeks). Johnson did not appear in the studio for the halftime/postgame shows during singleheader weeks. I think Jimmy wants to limit his travel due to his age, and having Rob Gronkowski to help spell him sometimes will help with that.

DeleteKinda interesting how much coverage Saints-Packers is.
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Yeah, I know. Nearly three fourths of the nation are expecting to see the Packers play in the early window.
ReplyDeleteEven without Aaron Rodgers playing there, the Packers are apparently still a national draw for FOX (you saw that last week at the Falcons and now this week vs. the Saints).
Yeah. I guess Jordan Love is very popular.

Why a late game for Burkhardt and company?
Delete@Mark T. Mark, in addition to his duties as the lead play-by-play announcer for the NFL on FOX, Burkhardt is also the lead host of FOX's MLB studio coverage.
DeleteThis weekend, FOX Sports plans to begin its coverage of the American League Division Series. FOX's studios are located in Los Angeles, and FOX plans to have their MLB studio folks in Los Angeles for the Division Series. They will be on-site at the games for the League Championship Series and the World Series. Burkhardt is probably gonna handle Saturday MLB studio, followed by Sunday's Eagles-Rams game.
Probably, FOX needed Burkhardt to be on the west coast already due to studio commitments, rather than assigning him (and the lead crew for that matter) an East Coast 1 p.m. (ET) regional game. That's why.

The decisions FOX has made this year have been very interesting, to say the least.
Delete@Mark T. I know right. Why the heck they are assigning Burkhardt/Olsen to a 1 p.m. ET game this week? I understand the Eagles/Jets game doesn't have the national appeal that it did before w/the Aaron Rodgers injury. But could YOU send them to the Lions/Buccaneers game at 4 p.m. ET, if you had to make a switch?! FOX chose not to do that.
DeleteSo now, Kugler/Sanchez, a mid-tier crew (!!), is a getting a national audience with the Eagles/Jets being the main broadcast, instead of Lions/Buccaneers (going to around 30% of the country, I posted the weekly FOX listings btw).
The NFL on FOX brings you doubleheader action with star-studded games this Sunday.

Where did you find out the announcers for Steelers-Rams?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Mark, Adam Amin (pxp) posted a calendar of upcoming broadcasts on his Instagram. This featured NFL on FOX/Chicago Bulls broadcasts. On it, I noticed that he had Lions/Buccaneers for this Sunday (which turned out to be correct) and Steelers/Rams for the 22nd {next Sunday}. Also, I made the note that Amin filled in for Joe Davis for several weeks last season while Davis was calling the baseball postseason.
DeleteSince Amin is working with Johnson & Oliver for this Sunday, I basically assume that Amin/Johnston//Oliver will be working together for the next few weeks until Joe's baseball duties are complete.
That's how I got that announcing assignment, putting some pieces together. (Based off prior knowledge.)
Oh, OK. Makes sense.

Will Kevin Burkhardt be able to fly out to Dallas for NFL after doing MLB playoff coverage (if it's in Philly).
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Well, the Texas Rangers are going to the World Series (assuming that they beat Houston) ! Wow !! Who would have thought that would be possible ! The Rangers will have home field advantage, meaning that they will host Game 1 and Game 2 on Friday (Oct. 27) and Saturday (Oct. 28). Since Burkhardt's NFL game this week (Rams/Cowboys) is in Arlington and the first two of the World Series will be in Arlington, Burkhardt has no travel problems whatsoever. How cool is that?!
DeleteThat's so convenient for him!
DeleteI Would Imagine Kevin Burkhardt Traveling In Texas From Baseball To Football In That Same Week! It May Happen!
Delete@KMAJ Well, last year, the NLCS was in Philadelphia (where Burkhardt and the MLB on FOX crew were), and Burkhardt would have to call the Chiefs-Niners game in Santa Clara the next day. The next 2 weeks, the World Series was in Houston and Burkhardt had to call Niners-Rams and Packers-Lions the next day. All 3 times, Burkhardt was on site for the NLCS/World Series, then flew out the next day to call football.

If the World Series ends before Saturday, will Davis be able to call Rams-Packers?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Well, perhaps, FOX could make a late change on this! You actually have a point, Mark. The Rangers are up 3 games to 1 on the Diamondbacks, so that series could END tomorrow.
DeleteMeaning that Davis could have up to three days (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) to prepare for the Rams/Packers game, this includes meetings with coaches/players, notes, and basic prep. They could easily put Davis back on the NFL game with the Rams at the Packers game, and place Amin on Vikings vs. Falcons (with his regular broadcast partners, Mark Schlereth & Kristina Pink, and have Chris Myers take this weekend off).
However, I feel like Davis is probably not going to work the Rams/Packers game, because that would be a tight turnaround from calling three/four weeks of postseason baseball to now returning to NFL pxp duties.
We'll see tho.
Yeah, that would be weird to have Davis just jump right into football after being in baseball for nearly a month.
DeleteTo Be Honest, I Would Like To See Joe Davis Comeback To announce Packers And Rams and Adam Amin To Reunite With Mark And Call The Viking And Falcons Game. We Will See What They'll Do.

@Mark T. Mark, that FOX schedule for next week looks absoutely dreadful. No matchup seems particuarly appealing to a casual (or team specific) fan, but FOX must make this poor schedule work somehow.
DeleteAbsolutely correct. Now it makes sense why they didn't flex the Vikings-Broncos game.
DeleteWhere did you find the announcers for Cowboys-Panthers? I couldn't find it.
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Mark, Kevin said during last week's Giants/Cowboys game that his crew will be doing the Cowboys/Panthers game this week. Third straight week of FOX's A crew calling a Cowboys game (at PHI in Week 9, vs. NYG in Week 10, and now at CAR in Week 11). However, next week, Burkhardt & Olsen won't be doing a Cowboys game though, since CBS has the Commanders/Cowboys Thanksgiving game (and Nantz and Romo will be working that), so Burkhardt/Olsen will be calling the Packers/Lions game next Thursday and will have the following Sunday off since FOX does not have the doubleheader {CBS does} (which would be pretty nice considering their heavy workload).

ReplyDeleteWill Tom Rinaldi be able to fly out to Philly from Indiana?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. I think so. The Big Ten Championship Game is on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET, and the game in Philadelphia is not until 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon, so Rinaldi can make this work (working both games); Thank god that NFL game is at 4:25 p.m. ET (if SF/PHI was at 1 PM ET, which obviously isn't happening, using this is a hypothetical; Rinaldi would not have enough time for a late-night/early-morning flight from Indianapolis to Philadelphia).
DeleteHmm.
DeleteThat's huge for him.
DeleteI wonder if FOX will have 6 or 7 Week 18 games.
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Probably so, Mark. Three games will be airing on ESPN/ABC or NBC during that final weekend, meaning that 13 games will be split up between CBS and FOX. FOX getting seven games and CBS getting six games during the final week is very probable. I like how you are thinking. I notice that FOX's #7 crew has been used only once this season (Faust/Quinn, Week 4, MIN/CAR) while CBS' #7 crew (Lewis/McCourty/Tucker) has been used twice (Week 1, Titans/Saints & Week 8, Ravens/Cardinals).

Joe Davis, Daryl Johnston and Pam Oliver will be on the call for Chiefs- Patriots.
ReplyDeleteKevin Kugler, Mark Sanchez, and Laura Okmin will be on the call for Bears-Browns.
@Mark T. Thanks Mark! That means Giants/Saints and Falcons/Panthers are left. I think that Amin/Schlereth will get Giants/Saints and Albert/Vilma will get Falcons/Panthers (to be honest, Falcons/Panthers should really be receiving Kugler/Sanchez, but I digress). We will see.
DeleteDefinitely see your point Tamir about how ATL CAR should be Kugler/Sanchez. What's weird is ever since last year it feels like FOX (and NFLN last year) have given Kugler's crew higher ranked games than Albert's even though Albert is technically the number 4 announcer while Kugler should be number 5.
DeleteYou both bring up good points.
DeleteThe rest of the announcers have been confirmed as Amin/Schlereth/Pink get Falcons-Panthers while Albert/Vilma/Spake receive Giants-Saints.
ReplyDelete@Tamirmoore. What's up Tamir? What's your week 17 announcer predictions for FOX?
ReplyDeleteIf Fox gets 7 Week 18 games, I really hope they have Jason Benetti or Alex Faust do the no. 7 game. In my opinion, they're two of the most underrated announcers on Fox.
ReplyDeleteKenny Albert mentioned during the Giants vs Saints game, that him and Jonathan Vilma will be in Minnesota calling the Lions vs Vikings game in week 16.
ReplyDeleteAmin/Schlereth/Pink get IND/ATL and Kugler/Sanchez/Okmin get ARI/CHI.

If FOX has 7 games, who do you guys think the no. 7 crew would be?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. If Fox has 7 games in Week 18, then I think that Alex Faust/Brady Quinn//Megan Olivi will likely be that crew
DeleteWould Matt Millen be an option?
Delete@Mark T. Oh crap! That's right. I totally forget about Matt Millen. College football season is basically over (minus the bowl games), so I think FOX might use Matt Millen alongside Alex Faust or Jason Benetti for Week 18. Thank you for mentioning that!
DeleteYou're welcome!

Delete@Mark T. Mark, I nailed these predictions so far! NO/TB is Burkhardt/Olsen, SF/WSH is Amin/Schlereth, PIT/SEA is Albert/Vilma (and we assume ARI/PHI is Davis/Johnston, LAR/NYG is Kugler/Sanchez and TEN/HOU is Myers/Smith, but we'll see). Three for three so far in predicting the six games.

Happy New Year Mark! What Do You Think?
Happy New Year to you too, KMAJ. I feel like that could have worked. I would've liked to see Jason Benetti call the Patriots game. IMO, he's one of the most underrated announcers in all of sports.
DeleteKevin Burkhardt has announced on his instagram page that his crew will be doing the Cowboys @ Commanders game for week 18.
ReplyDeleteIt's Lions-49ers in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

ReplyDeleteWhat do you think will happen to Greg Olsen now that Tom Brady is taking his place?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Mark, I think Greg Olsen is unfortunately going to be demoted to FOX's #2 crew, and work alongside Joe Davis. Which is a shame because I like Greg Olsen a lot. This is the most likely scenario, unless Olsen lands with another network (like CBS, which I feel Greg could slide in as the #1 analyst, because Tony Romo is really bad right now and him and Nantz are so dreadful as a pairing).
DeleteYeah. Luckily, Joe and Greg have worked together in the past and might have good chemistry together.
