• Apple TV+ prepares for the fourth season of carrying an exclusive doubleheader on Friday evenings during the regular season.

• "Friday Night Baseball" makes its season debut on Friday, March 28, with a doubleheader - Orioles visit the Blue Jays in Toronto (7:00 PM ET) and the Mets battle the Astros in Houston (8:00 PM ET).

• Apple TV+'s "Friday Night Baseball" primary commentator crews - Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), Tricia Whitaker (reporter)/Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst) & Heidi Watney (reporter) - return for the third consecutive season. Longtime MLB play-by-play broadcaster Rich Waltz to call select games as a play-by-play commentator.

• Lauren Gardner (host), Xavier Scruggs (analyst), and Russell Dorsey (analyst) to host pre-game and post-game coverage, with Siera Santos (host) scheduled to fill in for Gardner for select Fridays during the season. 

Hello, everyone! We learned today that Major League Baseball (MLB) and Apple officially revealed that "Friday Night Baseball", a weekly Friday doubleheader game package, will be returning for the 2025 season (the fourth consecutive season that Apple TV+ will be televising MLB games). Baseball fans all over the country can enjoy a pair of riveting matchups every Friday evening for 25 weeks during the regular season. These broadcasts will have a high production quality, a pair of dedicated broadcast crews, and zero restrictions for the participating teams from a local market standpoint. 

The 2025 season of "Friday Night Baseball" begins on Friday, March 28, the first Friday night of the new season, with some of the league's biggest names scheduled to play in the national spotlight. Live game coverage begins at 7:00 PM (ET) when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays take on All-Star Adley Rutschman and the Baltimore Orioles in an American League East matchup. In the second game of the first Apple TV+ Friday doubleheader of the campaign, Juan Soto and his new-look New York Mets travel south to play Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros at 8:00 PM (ET).

The game schedule for the first several months of "Friday Night Baseball" on Apple TV+ through Friday, June 27, has been announced (you can find out which games are slated for a Friday night national broadcast between March and June towards the bottom of this article). Some of the important matchups include - a World Series rematch between the Yankees and the Dodgers, the Lone Star Showdown between the Astros and the Rangers & two games featuring the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers traveling to the East Coast (at Phillies & at Mets).

For the third straight year, 'Friday Night Baseball" on Apple TV+ will have two separate commentary crews to work each game of the doubleheader. One broadcast team has Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), & Tricia Whitaker (field reporter). The other announcing crew features Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), & Heidi Watney (field reporter). The studio team of host Lauren Gardner, analyst Russell Dorsey, & analyst Xavier Scruggs is slated to return to provide pregame and postgame coverage throughout the season. Furthermore, host Siera Santos will sub for Gardner on select Friday nights, and Rich Waltz will be used as an additional play-by-play commentator, replacing Faust or Randazzo, for select games this season.

"Friday Night Baseball" is produced in partnership between the MLB Network and Apple's live sports production team.

First Rate Game Announcing Lineup:

To start this 2025 season off, 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski joins play-by-play commentator Jason Benetti in the broadcast booth for Game 1 of the Tokyo Series between the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 AM (ET) on Fox. The following day, Wednesday, March 19, Pierzynski will then reunite with play-by-play announcer Adam Amin for Game 2 of the Tokyo Series between the Dodgers and Cubs at 6:00 AM (ET) on FS1.

FOX Sports' traditional MLB Opening Week coverage is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 across the Fox broadcast network and FS1 with a doubleheader incorporating daytime & primetime. Game coverage starts at 2:00 PM ET on FS1, as the Minnesota Twins clash with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, Missouri. Play-by-play commentator Connor Onion teams up with analyst Tom Verducci to provide commentary. This is followed by regionalized matchups on Fox, beginning at 7:00 PM (ET) that night. • The historic 30th season of MLB on FOX kicks off in Tokyo, where the Chicago Cubs and defending champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are set to face off against each other. FS1 commences its 12th MLB season in Tokyo for the Cubs-Dodgers Opening Series. 

• The worlds of MLB and NASCAR collide this summer for the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic when the Braves take on the Reds in the first-ever MLB game from the state of Tennessee (Saturday, August 2 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX).

• 95th MLB All-Star Game: FOX is scheduled to provide live coverage of their 26th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15, from Truist Park in Atlanta, home of the Braves (8:00 PM ET on FOX).

As spring training begins across the United States, FOX Sports is taking full advantage of this time of year by announcing the 2025 regular season schedule on FOX and FS1. This year marks the notable 30th season of baseball coverage on FOX and the 12th season of MLB game coverage on FS1.

The 2025 MLB season starts with the FOX family of networks covering the Tokyo Series presented by Guggenheim featuring the Chicago Cubs and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. The two-game mini-series sees global star and the 2024 National League MVP, Shohei Ohtani, back to his native country of Japan, with Game 1 airing on FOX on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 AM ET and Game 2 airing on FS1 on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 AM ET.

The following week, when MLB has its more traditional Opening Day in the United States, FOX/FS1 will have a day-night twin-bill on the first "official" Saturday of the regular season, Saturday, March 29. At 2:00 PM ET on FS1, the Minnesota Twins will visit the St. Louis Cardinals. On Tuesday, July 15, the city of Atlanta, Georgia, will take center stage for the annual Midsummer Classic at 8:00 PM ET on FOX. The Postseason - The journey towards the 2025 World Series:

The busy 2025 season on FOX culminates with the network's presentation of the 2025 World Series presented by Capital One. This World Series marks the 26th that FOX will televise to a national audience during the 30 years that FOX has held television rights to Major League Baseball. 2025 MLB on Fox Schedule

• The historic 30th season of MLB on FOX starts off in Tokyo as the Chicago Cubs and the defending Los Angeles Dodgers are set to play each other. FS1 begins its 12th MLB season in Tokyo for the Cubs-Dodgers Opening Series. 

• The worlds of MLB and NASCAR collide this summer for the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic when the Braves take on the Reds in the first-ever MLB game from the state of Tennessee (Saturday, August 2 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX).

• 95th MLB All-Star Game: FOX is scheduled to provide live coverage of their 26th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15, from Truist Park in Atlanta, home of the Braves (8:00 PM ET on FOX).

As spring training is opening up throughout the United States, FOX Sports is taking full advantage of this time of the year by announcing the 2025 regular season schedule on FOX and FS1. This year will mark the notable 30th season of baseball coverage on FOX, and the 12th season of MLB game coverage on FS1.

The 2025 MLB season starts with the FOX family of networks covering the Tokyo Series presented by Guggenheim featuring the Chicago Cubs and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. The two-game mini-series sees global star and the 2024 National League MVP, Shohei Ohtani, back to his native country of Japan, with Game 1 airing on FOX on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 AM ET and Game 2 airing on FS1 on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 AM ET.

The following week, when MLB has its more traditional Opening Day in the United States, FOX/FS1 will have a day-night twin-bill on the first "official" Saturday of the regular season, Saturday, March 29. At 2:00 PM ET on FS1, the Minnesota Twins will visit the St. Louis Cardinals. In primetime that night, at 7:00 PM ET on FOX, the network plans to televise two matchups on a regional basis - Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres & New York Mets vs. Houston Astros (we will post an article with a distribution breakdown closer to the day of the game).

The Postseason - The journey towards the 2025 World Series:

The busy 2025 season on FOX reaches the grand finale with the network's presentation of the 2025 World Series presented by Capital One. This World Series is the 26th one that FOX will televise to a national audience in the 30 years that FOX has held television rights to Major League Baseball. In addition, FOX Sports has the rights to the American League Division Series (ALDS) and American League Championship Series (ALCS). Turner Sports made an announcement earlier this week regarding the first half of their MLB Tuesday night package for the upcoming 2025 season, which sees TBS carry games on a regular basis. The first half of the season consists of a 12-week schedule with divisional rivalries, international superstars, and perennial playoff teams across 13 games on TBS.

MLB Tuesday kicks off the 2025 regular season on Tuesday, April 1 as the two most recent World Series runners up will clash at Yankee Stadium: Unanimous 2024 AL MVP Aaron Judge and the reigning American League Champion New York Yankees will host 2024 NL All-Star Ketel Marte and the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:00 PM (ET).

From April through June, each of the five winners of the National League pennant will have a chance to be shown on MLB Tuesday and, in October, TBS wraps up their 52nd year of covering Major League Baseball with exclusive coverage of the National League Division Series and National League Championship Series.

Schedule highlights for the 2025 MLB Tuesday on TBS games announced so far:

• Four-time All-Star and important offseason addition Juan Soto leads his new club, the New York Mets, into a NL leading four MLB Tuesday games, including divisional battles with two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies (Tuesday, April 22) and against the Atlanta Braves, awaiting the return of 2023 NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. (Tuesday, June 24).

• 2024 ALCS MVP Giancarlo Stanton and the reigning American League champions are slated for a AL-best four MLB Tuesday first-half appearances, including a rematch of the 2024 ALCS against 2024 NL All Star Steven Kwan and the Cleveland Guardians (Tuesday, June 3).

• Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies get into the fun with two more division games on TBS - both against the Braves - on Tuesday, April 8 in Atlanta and Tuesday, May 27 in Philadelphia.

• The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and their MVP triplet of Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani will make their MLB Tuesday debut on Tuesday, June 3 against the New York Mets in a heavyweight matchup of top NL clubs followed by a Tuesday, June 17 date against the San Diego Padres with All-Star position players Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackson Merrill and Luis Arraez.

• The Boston Red Sox try to get back into the thick of things in the American League this season - with the additions of star pitchers Walker Buehler and Garrett Crochet during the offseason - with two consecutive games on TBS: at the Detroit Tigers, with AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal, on Tuesday, May 13 and hosting Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets on Tuesday, May 20.

• The Cleveland Guardians travel to Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore on Tuesday, April 15 for a pivotal early season game against the Baltimore Orioles, with the likes of Jose Ramirez and Gunnar Henderson, two people that finished in the top five in 2024 AL MVP voting (an award that ultimately was won by Yankees slugger Aaron Judge).

The season-long MLB Tuesday on TBS franchise - which now begins the fourth season - will have 30-minute pregame and postgame studio programming every week. Further production and programming information will be announced closer to the start of the season.

ESPN, in synchrony with Major League Baseball (MLB), announced the early-season 2025 Sunday Night Baseball schedule earlier this week (Wednesday, January 15). ESPN is scheduled to start the 36th season of the exclusive Sunday night game of the week on Sunday, March 30, when Ronald Acuṉa Jr. and the Atlanta Braves battle Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres at 7:00 PM ET. As a quick reminder, Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts start at 7:00 PM ET on Sunday nights and can be found across ESPN, ESPN Radio, the ESPN App, and ESPN Deportes. Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown typically airs on ESPN at 6:00 PM ET and functions as a one-hour pregame program for Sunday Night Baseball.

ESPN will televise 25 Sunday Night Baseball games between late March and late September. Selections for additional Sunday Night Baseball games will be made up two weeks before the date of the game. Furthermore, ESPN holds exclusive rights to five additional MLB games (that don't count for the Sunday Night Baseball package), an Opening Day doubleheader, the T-Mobile Home Run Derby in July, and the MLB Wild Card Series in October.

* Commentary Teams:

Television -- For the fourth straight year, Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN features the commentary team of Karl Ravech (play-by-play), Eduardo Pérez (analyst), David Cone (analyst) & Buster Olney (reporter). In fact, Olney continues his longstanding run on the series, as Buster begins his 15th season as a reporter/contributor.

Radio -- On the radio side, Jon "Boog" Sciambi (play-by-play) and Doug Glanville (analyst) will be paired together to provide the Sunday Night Baseball radio call across the national airwaves of ESPN Radio. 

Before Sunday Night Baseball, ESPN will have a one-hour pregame show to preview the upcoming SNB game and recap the other Sunday MLB matchups. Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown will generally air at 6:00 PM ET on Sunday nights, leading into the forthcoming SNB matchup. Host Kevin Connors will anchor most editions of the program, joined by respected and decorated analysts/insiders, including senior MLB insider Jeff Passan, National Baseball Hall of Fame sportswriter Tim Kurkjian, analysts Xavier Scruggs and Jessica Mendoza. 

In addition to the MLB on ESPN commentators listed above, Mike Monaco, Anish Shroff, Mike Couzens, Kevin Brown, Roxy Bernstein, Ben McDonald, and Gregg Olson will also provide commentary for select events during the year on ESPN platforms.

2025 Sunday Night Baseball early-season game schedule highlights include:

• The top MLB stars take center stage, including Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Bryce Harper, Ronald Acuña Jr., Fernando Tatís Jr., and more.

• The clubs with the most early-season SNB games include the Los Angeles Dodgers (four), New York Mets (four), Philadelphia Phillies (three) & San Diego Padres (three).

• Subway Series: New York Mets vs. New York Yankees during MLB's Rivalry Week on Sunday, May 18.

• 2024 National League Championship Series: Mookie Betts and the defending World Series champions Los Angeles Dodgers, visit Juan Soto and the New York Mets on Sunday, May 25.

• 2024 World Series re-match: Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees visit Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, June 1.

• The Special Fourth of July doubleheader includes TBD (6:00 PM ET) & Rangers-Padres (9:00 PM ET) on Sunday, July 6.

• The 2025 MLB Little League Classic on Sunday Night Baseball: Seattle Mariners vs. New York Mets on Sunday, August 17.

Opening Day on ESPN:

As previously announced, ESPN's 36th year of MLB coverage will start with a doubleheader on Opening Day, Thursday, March 27. At 3:00 PM ET, Aaron Judge and the defending American League champions New York Yankees hosted Christian Yelich and the defending National League Central champions Milwaukee Brewers to town. At 7:00 PM (ET), Tarik Skubal and the Detroit Tigers (coming off their first postseason since 2014) visit Shohei Ohtani and the reigning World Series champions Los Angeles Dodgers. Baseball Tonight will air from 6:00 PM ET to 7:00 PM ET on ESPN and will have live coverage of the Dodgers' banner-raising ceremony. 

ESPN first broadcast MLB games way back in 1990. The debut episode of Sunday Night Baseball was on April 15, 1990, when the New York Mets visited the Montréal Expos (featuring the original SNB commentary crew of Jon Miller and the late great Joe Morgan). The network formerly televised two additional regular-season packages besides Sunday Night Baseball, Monday Night Baseball and Wednesday Night Baseball, until those programs were discontinued following the 2021 season (as ESPN decided to reduce their MLB coverage to just Sunday Night Baseball alongside marquee events, such as the Home Run Derby and Wild Card Series).

Sadly 😢, as we learned on Thursday, February 20, ESPN and Major League Baseball (MLB) are "mutually parting ways" following the 2025 season, meaning that this is ESPN's final season carrying Major League Baseball following a 36-season run. Anyways, it is now time for the Week 18 NFL on FOX: Field Pass. As you may notice, this will be the final regularly scheduled publishing of the NFL on FOX: Field Pass for the 2024 season. This was my first season doing a project like this, and obviously, the results were surprisingly fantastic. And barring something crazy, I plan on bringing back the Field Pass for the second season in 2025.

On Sunday, January 5, Fox is scheduled to end their 31st regular season of NFL coverage as the road to Super Bowl LIX (which FOX is scheduled to televise in February) marches forward. In Week 18, FOX has a full slate of games as the network presents their FOURTH doubleheader in the last five weeks with a jam-packed seven-game schedule. The 1:00 PM ET window has Saints at Buccaneers, Jaguars at Colts, Commanders at Cowboys and Bears at Packers. The 4:25 PM ET timeslot features Dolphins at Jets, Seahawks at Rams and 49ers at Cardinals. If Dolphins somehow get a postseason berth on Sunday, Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel would be the third Dolphins coach in team history to guide his team to the postseason in three straight years, joining Jimmy Johnson and Don Shula. Dolphins RB De'von Achane needs one receiving touchdown to become the second player in NFL history to score 10 rushing touchdowns and 10 receiving touchdowns in his first two seasons. 🎙 Fox will be transmitting Sunday's Dolphins vs. Jets game across the country, as Joe Davis (play-by-play), three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen (analyst) & Pam Oliver (reporter) will be covering all of the action.

Rams S Kamren Curl recorded 10 tackles vs. the Cardinals in Week 17. 🎙 Sunday's Seahawks-Rams divisional duel will be broadcasted by Fox, as the broadcast team consists of play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert, analyst and Super Bowl champion linebacker Jonathan Vilma and sideline reporter Megan Olivi.

An NFC West collision is the big headline here as two subpar teams look to put one more win on the board before the season ends as Fred Warner and the somewhat disappointing defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers (6-10) match up with Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals (7-9) on Sunday, January 5 at 4:25 PM ET on Fox. 🎙 Play-by-play commentator Chris Myers, analyst and three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth, and reporter Jen Hale will be announcing Sunday's 49ers-Cardinals game for Fox.
