This week's "MLB on Fox: On Deck" highlights include:
  • "Baseball Night in America" airs a special edition this Thursday (September 11) with two divisional matchups on Fox. Mets vs. Phillies and Royals vs. Guardians, with live coverage starting at 7:00 PM ET.
  • The two best teams in the National League East battle it out as Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets square off against Brandon Marsh and the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, September 11, at 7:00 PM ET.
  • A pivotal American League Central contest in Cleveland when Kyle Isbel and the Kansas City Royals play Steven Kwan and the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday, September 11, at 7:00 PM ET.

There are two and a half weeks left in the 2025 Major League Baseball season. You can feel the rush of trying to chase down a postseason spot. On Thursday, September 11Fox is scheduled to regionalize and televise a pair of divisional clashes that will influence the postseason picture. Most of the country will see the Mets vs. Phillies contest, while others will get the Royals vs. Guardians game. Coverage of Thursday's "Baseball Night in America" will start at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. Read on to find out which game your local Fox station will be televising come Thursday evening.

I will also mention that Thursday marks 24 years since the tragic September 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in four coordinated attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, & Shanksville, Pennsylvania (80 miles SE of Pittsburgh). My thoughts and prayers are with the 9/11 victims and their families! NEVER FORGET! ⚑

As tough as it is to divert focus back to baseball following that previous paragraph, let us dive into Thursday's MLB on Fox slate.

Brandon Nimmo and the New York Mets wrap up a four-game series vs. Max Kepler and the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, September 11, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. Time is quickly running out for the Mets if they want to catch the Phillies for the top spot in the National League East. The Mets currently lead the season series, 7-5. Nevertheless, Philadelphia maintains a substantial advantage over New York in the race for the National League East title, with just two and a half weeks remaining in the regular season. Mets RF Juan Soto is playing well as the regular season winds down. Since August 22, Soto is hitting .386/.545/.807 (1.352 OPS) with seven home runs, 21 RBIs, and, just because he can, nine stolen bases. 🎙 The lead MLB on Fox team of play-by-play commentator Joe Davis, analyst and Hall of Famer John Smoltz, and Emmy-winning reporter Ken Rosenthal will be on the call.

Two AL Central squads that are chasing down a Wild Card spot take the field against each other as Maikel Garcia and the Kansas City Royals meet José Ramirez and the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday, September 11, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. As I mentioned above, this series has massive playoff implications for both clubs. The Guardians lead the season series 7-5 heading into Thursday's final head-to-head meeting of the regular season. With the AL Central basically out of reach, both teams turn their focus towards the Wild Card hunt. Unfortunately, both teams have little room for error over the final two weeks of the season. With Julio Rodriguez and the Seattle Mariners (the team that has the final AL Wild Card spot) on a four-game winning streak, both the Guardians and the Royals find themselves in a must-win situation to keep their hopes alive for the postseason. Guardians 3B José Ramírez has been playing for the Cleveland franchise since 2013. Now in his 13th MLB season, Ramírez has plenty left in the tank. This season, José leads the team in home runs with 28. 🎤 Adam Amin (play-by-play) and 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski (analyst) will provide commentary.
