Happy New Year and welcome to 2025, everyone! Thankful to God 🙏 that we all made it to the brand new year. In 2025, we will continue to write articles about sports and hopefully, you guys will continue to show love, provide support, and share this blog with your friends and family. I WANT this blog to take off and go further in 2025.
Anyways, it is now time for the Week 18 NFL on FOX: Field Pass. As you may notice, this will be the final regularly scheduled publishing of the NFL on FOX: Field Pass for the 2024 season. This was my first season doing a project like this, and obviously, the results were surprisingly fantastic. And barring something crazy, I plan on bringing back the Field Pass for the second season in 2025.
On Sunday, January 5, Fox is scheduled to end their 31st regular season of NFL coverage as the road to Super Bowl LIX (which FOX is scheduled to televise in February) marches forward. In Week 18, FOX has a full slate of games as the network presents their FOURTH doubleheader in the last five weeks with a jam-packed seven-game schedule. The 1:00 PM ET window has Saints at Buccaneers, Jaguars at Colts, Commanders at Cowboys and Bears at Packers. The 4:25 PM ET timeslot features Dolphins at Jets, Seahawks at Rams and 49ers at Cardinals. Which games will your FOX station to finish up the 2024 regular season and who will be handling announcing duties for these matchups? I invite you to continue on reading to find out the answer.
For the Week 18 NFL on FOX: Field Pass, we will be talking about several things that football fans typically care about from a broadcasting perspective (since that is my area of expertise): the schedule of events on FOX, the announcer lineup and distribution splits. Hope you enjoy it!

NFL on Fox Doubleheader: Game 1 - 1:00 PM ET (Saints at Buccaneers, Commanders at Cowboys, Bears at Packers & Jaguars at Colts):
Fox hits the air at 1:00 PM ET for the first game of the Week 18 doubleheader on the network. Fox will regionalize four games across the country to suffice as the opening game of the double dip. Most audiences will be presented with the Saints at Buccaneers matchup (54% of Markets), as Bucky Irving and his team looks to lock up the NFC South championship for the fourth straight season with a victory. Other audiences will be observing Commanders at Cowboys (25% of Markets), Bears at Packers (18% of Markets) or Jaguars at Colts (3% of Markets). Time now to enlarge your comprehension about Sunday's early doubleheader games on Fox.
Bucky Irving and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-7) look to take their fourth consecutive NFC West title as they welcome in Tyrann Mathieu and the New Orleans Saints (5-11) on Sunday, January 5 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox. With Tampa Bay's emphatic 48-14 victory over the Panthers last week combined with the Falcons 30-24 overtime loss to the Commanders last week, the Buccaneers now have the steering wheel in terms of control of the NFC South. Simply put, a Buccaneers win would give them their fourth consecutive NFC South championship. However, a Tampa Bay loss plus an Atlanta win would place Tampa Bay out of the postseason (obviously, the Buccaneers don't want doomsday to occur in this situation). This is the 66th all-time regular season meeting between the Saints & Buccaneers, with the Saints holding a 40-25 regular season series lead. The Buccaneers are 9-4 when WR Mike Evans is active (in the lineup). Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving leads the NFL in most yards after contact per rush (4.51). 🎙 Kevin Burkhardt handles play-by-play commentary for Sunday's Saints vs. Buccaneers game on Fox, alongside analyst and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi report from the sidelines, with each responsible for a specific team.
A quintessential NFC East rivalry to set to be played one more time at AT&T Stadium in Arlington as rookie sensation Jayden Daniels and the playoff-bound Washington Commanders (11-5) compete against Jourdan Lewis and the Dallas Cowboys (7-9) on Sunday, January 5 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox. The Commanders clinched their first playoff berth since 2020 with last Sunday's dramatic 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons. Now, Washington looks to grab the best possible seed as they enter the postseason on the NFC side (Washington will be the No. 6 seed or the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs). Commanders HC Dan Quinn has 54 career regular season wins as a head coach (combining his tenure with the Falcons & Commanders). Commander LB Bobby Wagner is just two interceptions away from 15 career picks. Commander DL Daron Payne needs two tackles for loss to reach 60 career tackles for loss. Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (rookie) has been a shining light for Washington in 2024, with 31 offensive touchdowns through 16 games. 🎙 Sunday's Commanders vs. Cowboys television call on Fox will be given by play-by-play announcer Adam Amin, analyst and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez, and sideline reporter Kristina Pink.
Rome Odunze and the hapless Chicago Bears (4-12) enter a NFC North showdown against Josh Jacobs and the playoff-bound Green Bay Packers (11-5) on Sunday, January 5 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox. Just like the Commanders in their game vs. the Cowboys, the Packers come into Week 18's game against the Bears playing for seeding purposes only (as Green Bay has already locked down a playoff berth some time ago). The Packers will be a wild card team and will be seeded either #6 or #7 in the NFC playoff bracket. This is the first time that the Packers will be hosting the Bears to conclude regular season play in consecutive years (2023-24). The Packers qualified for the postseason for the 37th time ever, which is the most in NFL history. Over the past two seasons, Packers QB Jordan Love is second in passer rating (111.7) in games played Weeks 11-18, passing for 3,650 yards and 28 TD's with just two interceptions. Packers S Xavier McKinney ranks second in the NFL with seven interceptions (only trailing Lions S Kerby Joseph, who has nine). Packers WR Jayden Reed is the first wideout in team history to amass 900+ yards from scrimmage during his first two seasons. 🎙 Sunday's Bears at Packers contest will be regionally televised by Fox, as play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler, three-time Super Bowl champion and analyst Daryl "Moose" Johnston and reporter Laura Okmin will be on-site at Lambeau Field for the call.
Lucas Oil Stadium plays host to the closing game of the 2024 regular season for a pair of AFC South clubs, as Darnell Savage Jr. and the luckless Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) travel on the road to Indianapolis for a game against Nick Cross and the Indianapolis Colts (7-9) on Sunday, January 5 at 1:00 PM ET on Fox. 🎙 Jason Benetti (play-by-play), former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn (analyst), and analyst/reporter Sarah Kustok (reporter) are set for the early afternoon Jaguars-Colts presentation on Fox.
NFL on Fox Doubleheader: Game 2 - 4:25 PM ET (Dolphins at Jets, Seahawks at Rams & 49ers at Cardinals):
The Week 18 football action on Fox continues with the late afternoon games at 4:25 PM ET. There are three games scheduled to take place during this time. Dolphins at Jets (80% of Markets) will be the main game, with other audiences scheduled to watch Seahawks at Rams (13% of Markets) or 49ers at Cardinals (7% of Markets). Let us tackle each of these three games in substantial detail, so you cultivate a deeper understanding of the finer points to look out in the late Sunday window on FOX.
Emmanuel Ogbah and the Miami Dolphins (8-8) get one more chance to chase after a postseason berth with this AFC East confrontation against Garrett Wilson and the New York Jets (4-12) on Sunday, January 5 at 4:25 PM ET on Fox. Miami is in this position thanks to a remarkable in-season turnaround, as the Dolphins have salvaged their season following a rough 2-6 start (they have posted a 6-2 record in the ensuing eight games since). Obviously, the Dolphins need to win this game plus have the Broncos lose to the Chiefs to obtain the AFC's seventh and final postseason spot. If Dolphins somehow get a postseason berth on Sunday, Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel would be the third Dolphins coach in team history to guide his team to the postseason in three straight years, joining Jimmy Johnson and Don Shula. Dolphins RB De'von Achane needs one receiving touchdown to become the second player in NFL history to score 10 rushing touchdowns and 10 receiving touchdowns in his first two seasons. 🎙 Fox will be transmitting Sunday's Dolphins vs. Jets game across the country, as Joe Davis (play-by-play), three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen (analyst) & Pam Oliver (reporter) will be covering all of the action.
Julian Love and the Seattle Seahawks (9-7) seek to finish their 2024 regular season with a two-game winning streak against Darious Williams and the postseason bound Los Angeles Rams (10-6) on Sunday, January 5 at 4:25 PM ET on Fox. The Rams have found a way to flip the script on their season in two straight seasons. Last year, the Rams began the year with an abysmal 3-6 record, but ripped off seven wins in their final eight games to make the postseason. This season, they had a horrible 1-4 start with trade talks swirling around their heads. Now, the Rams have won nine of the last 11 games to arrive at Sunday's regular season finale vs. the Seahawks as most of the hottest teams in the league with the NFL playoffs forthcoming. Rams WR Puka Nacua added to his excellent sophomore season with 10 receptions for 129 yards in the Rams' 13-9 win last Sunday over the Arizona Cardinals (Nacua will be resting this weekend). Rams RB Kyren Williams had his 14th rushing touchdown of the season last week vs. Arizona (Kyren, too, will be inactive for Sunday's game - rest). Rams S Kamren Curl recorded 10 tackles vs. the Cardinals in Week 17. 🎙 Sunday's Seahawks-Rams divisional duel will be broadcasted by Fox, as the broadcast team consists of play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert, analyst and Super Bowl champion linebacker Jonathan Vilma and sideline reporter Megan Olivi.
An NFC West collision is the big headline here as two subpar teams look to put one more win on the board before the season ends as Fred Warner and the somewhat disappointing defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers (6-10) match up with Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals (7-9) on Sunday, January 5 at 4:25 PM ET on Fox. 🎙 Play-by-play commentator Chris Myers, analyst and three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth, and reporter Jen Hale will be announcing Sunday's 49ers-Cardinals game for Fox.
