Tuesday, February 25, 2025 (Tuesday, February 18, 2025 for the initial post)

  • The historic 30th season of MLB on FOX starts off in Tokyo as the Chicago Cubs and the defending Los Angeles Dodgers are set to play each other. FS1 begins their 12th MLB season in Tokyo for the Cubs-Dodgers Opening Series
  • The worlds of MLB and NASCAR collide this summer for the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic when the Braves take on the Reds in the first-ever MLB game from the state of Tennessee (Saturday, August 2 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX).
  • 95th MLB All-Star Game: FOX is scheduled to provide live coverage of their 26th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15 from Truist Park in Atlanta, home of the Braves (8:00 PM ET on FOX).

As spring training is opening up throughout the United States, FOX Sports is taking full advantage of this time of the year by announcing the 2025 regular season schedule on FOX and FS1. This year will mark the notable 30th season of baseball coverage on FOX, and the 12th season of MLB game coverage on FS1.

The 2025 MLB season starts with the FOX family of networks covering the Tokyo Series presented by Guggenheim featuring the Chicago Cubs and the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. The two-game mini-series sees global star and the 2024 National League MVP Shohei Ohtani back to his native country of Japan, with Game 1 airing on FOX on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 AM ET and Game 2 airing on FS1 on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 AM ET.

The following week, when MLB has their more traditional Opening Day in the United States, FOX/FS1 will have a day-night twin-bill on the first "official" Saturday of the regular season, Saturday, March 29. At 2:00 PM ET on FS1, the Minnesota Twins will visit the St. Louis Cardinals. In primetime that night, at 7:00 PM ET on FOX, the network plans to televise two matchups on a regional basis - Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres & New York Mets vs. Houston Astros (we will post an article with a distribution breakdown closer to the day of the game).

Baseball Night in America: A Summer of Competitions
Beginning on Saturday, May 3, FOX brings back its signature "Baseball Night in America" series for another season with must-see matchups throughout the spring and summer:
  • NLCS Rematch: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets - Saturday, May 24
  • World Series Rematch: New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers - Saturday, May 31
  • Famed Rivalry: Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees - Saturday, June 7, Saturday, June 14 & Thursday, August 21
  • Lone Star Showdown: Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros - Saturday, July 12
  • Historic Rivalry: Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals - Saturday, August 9

FOX Highlights MLB's Key Events for 2025

Speedway Classic: Baseball takes over NASCAR down in Tennessee:
This August, the iconic Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee transforms itself into a one night spectacle as the Atlanta Braves match up with the Cincinnati Reds in a distinctive environment. The legendary NASCAR track and America's favorite pastime combine for the first-ever event of this size as Tennessee hosts their first-ever MLB game on Saturday, August 2 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX.

The 95th MLB All-Star Game - The best of the best converge in Atlanta:
On Tuesday, July 15, the city of Atlanta, Georgia will take center stage for the annual Midsummer Classic, at 8:00 PM ET on FOX. Live from Atlanta's Truist Park, the baseball's most elite players will compete in the national spotlight. FOX's 26th All-Star Game marks the MOST All-Star Games on any broadcast network.

The Postseason - The journey towards the 2025 World Series:
The busy 2025 season on FOX reaches the grand finale with the network's presentation of the 2025 World Series presented by Capital One. This World Series is the 26th one that FOX will televise to a national audience in the 30 years that FOX has held television rights to Major League Baseball. In addition, FOX Sports has the rights to the American League Division Series (ALDS) and American League Championship Series (ALCS). The 121st Fall Classic last season, which saw the Dodgers best the Yankees in five games, caught the attention of the baseball world, bringing in an average of over 15 million viewers, the best combined figure for a World Series since 2017 (Astros-Dodgers).

Where can you watch the MLB on FOX & MLB on FS1 in 2025:

  4. Thank you very much for this, is this the actual schedule for this season? I'm hoping Dodgers vs Mariners will be one of the FOX Games on Saturday, September 27th.

    1. I leave the last Saturday of the regular season blank for now because it may involve playoff teams that have not clinched or maybe have a wildcard implications

  5. I can confirm that Joe Davis and John Smoltz will be calling the All-Star Game July 15th in Atlanta and the Speedway Classic from Bristol Tennessee on August 2nd

    1. @Logan A. Detwiler Hey Logan, where did you find that? I have not seen any confirmation of that? Is Rosenthal and/or Verducci working these games too (probably so)?

    2. Hey man, for a fun fact, I know that Davis and Smoltz always call the All-Star Game. I checked on the Wikipedia page as a source. Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci will be working the game too.

  6. Very mad about July 19. STL vs AZ dosen’t belong on FOX, I know ATL 7:15pm is normal time but the fact that NYY vs ATL isn’t on FOX is asinine.

    1. @AaronJudgeMVP 29 That's a good point. You would think that Yankees-Braves will get priority over Cardinals-Diamondbacks. New York and Atlanta have two of the biggest fan bases in the sport, plus the teams have been quite successful in recent seasons (with the Yankees literally being in the World Series last season and the Braves being constant contenders in the National League over the past 4-5 years).

Yeah, Arizona was in the World Series back in 2023, but they finished 89-73 and missed the playoffs in 2024. St. Louis went 83-79 in 2024 and missed the playoffs too.

NYY-ATL > STL-ARI, but FOX doesn't seem to think so

  7. Do you know why FOX doesn’t air Saturday games on April 5, 12 & August 23 but instead Thursday 21st?. September 13 and 20 is because of College Football which I don’t like because it’s pennant chase time… It should air EVERY Saturday’s unless a major event is on.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @AaronJudgeMVP29 Jonathan, I honestly don't know bro. In my opinion, FOX should air games on every Saturday of the regular season unless something prevents FOX from doing it (like NASCAR or IndyCar or something like that)

    2. I agree with you guys. It really doesn't make sense why FOX doesnt air the MLB some August Saturdays.

    3. Hey Gang. If fox did have games Saturday April 5th and 12th... they would be as follows:

      Saturday April 5th
      4:05 PM ET
      Dodgers vs. Phillies
      Yankees vs. Pirates

      Saturday April 12th
      4:05 PM ET
      Blue Jays vs. Orioles
      Giants vs. Yankees

      Delete
    4. Why is FOX at 4:05pm in April? Anyway here’s how I would’ve done it.

      Sat Apr 5
      LAD vs PHI 7:15pm
      SEA vs SF 7:15pm
      Sat Apr 12
      KC vs CLE 7:15pm
      MIL vs ARZ 7:15pm

They moved SF/NYY to 3:05pm on the 12th because of Passover Eve but why choose that matchup for FS1? KC/CLE would’ve been better, we already had SF/NYY on AFD 2023. You could’ve just left the matchup at NYY normal 1:05pm time. And I would’ve organized the whole MLB at different times for Saturday FOX games.

      Delete
    5. @AaronJudgeMVP29 Jonathan, FOX is at 4:05 PM for two weeks in April because FOX has the USFL spring league games in primetime (I believe). This forced Fox to place their MLB games during the day instead.

      Delete
    6. This Saturday FOX is aring there new College Basketball playoff Crown / April 12th FOX is only airing MLS at 2:30pm there nothting eles on FOX after that they couldve did MLB at 7pm there no UFL Football only Fridays on FOX for 2 weeks that why no FOX MLB

  8. Apparently I found out that Joe Davis will be calling both games on Sportsnet LA's TV channel for the Tokyo Series. So my predictions for both games will be Adam Amin, Adam Wainwright and AJ Pierzynski or maybe Jason Benetti.
