This week's "MLB on Fox: On Deck" (Saturday, July 5) highlights include:
- A Full Day Of Baseball On Fox: Fox is the place to be this Saturday, July 5, as the network presents a RARE "Fox Saturday Baseball" tripleheader on FS1 (4:00 PM ET & 10:00 PM ET) and Fox (7:00 PM ET).
- Subway Series On FS1: Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees face their New York rival, the New York Mets, led by Francisco Lindor in another installment of the "Subway Series" on Saturday, July 5 at 4:00 PM ET on Fox.
- Marquee Matchup Made For Hollywood: Cam Smith and the Houston Astros do battle against Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers as two first place clubs meet in a high-profile contest on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox.
- ALDS Rematch from Cleveland: The teams that met in this year's American League Division Series clash on "Baseball Night in America" as Parker Meadows and the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers visit Carlos Santana and the Cleveland Guardians in a underappreciated divisional confrontation on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox.
- Seeing Black & Blue In The Emerald City: FS1 is your home for some Saturday late night baseball as Bryan Reynolds and the Pittsburgh Pirates head out West for a matchup against J.P. Crawford and the Seattle Mariners on Saturday, July 5 at 10:00 PM ET on FS1.
Welcome back to "MLB on Fox: On Deck"! This week, we will guide you through a jam-packed lineup of baseball on the FOX Sports family of networks. "Fox Saturday Baseball" is SCORCHING hot with four games on Saturday, July 5, including Yankees vs. Mets (4:00 PM ET on FS1), Astros vs. Dodgers (7:00 PM ET on Fox), Tigers vs. Guardians (7:00 PM ET on Fox) & Pirates vs. Mariners (10:00 PM ET on FS1). There is plenty of material to review before Saturday's games begin, so let us dive right in.
FS1 will bookend Saturday's tripleheader with the game presentation of Yankees vs. Mets at 4:00 PM ET followed by the Pirates vs. Mariners game at 10:00 PM ET (after Fox's "Baseball Night in America" coverage concludes).
Trent Grisham and the AL East-leading New York Yankees compete in the annual "Subway Series" against Juan Soto and the New York Mets on Saturday, July 5 at 4:00 PM ET on FS1. Look, I wish I could say that both teams are entering this "Subway Series" as some of the hottest teams around Major League Baseball. Sadly 😢, I can't do that. The Yankees have dropped 11 of their 17 games, dating back to a series sweep by their arch-rival Red Sox in mid-June. The Mets seem to be in crisis mode right now after an inexcusable 3-13 stretch going back to June 13. In fact, the Mets have been SWEPT in three of their past five series (Tampa Bay, Atlanta & Pittsburgh this past weekend). Long story short, both teams need to figure it out quickly. 🎙 Versatile play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert and analyst Tom Verducci call Yankees vs. Mets live from Citi Field in Flushing, New York.
At 7:00 PM ET, Fox will regionalize two game matchups for broadcast across the country for this week's edition of "Baseball Night in America". The majority of the country will receive the Astros vs. Dodgers game while other viewers will be watching the Tigers vs. Guardians game. Please either check your local listings or the bottom of this article for additional information.
In what could be described as a "must-see summer feature", Isaac Paredes and the Houston Astros confront Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers in a re-match of the 2017 World Series on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. This weekend marks the only time that the Astros & Dodgers will be playing head-to-head during the 2025 regular season. Both clubs possess 50 or more wins heading into this week. The Dodgers have won 12 of their 15 games to open up a seven-game lead in the NL West while the Astros have posted an impressive 14-4 record since June 11. Houston is receiving excellent seasons from CF Jake Meyers and SS Jeremy Peña. Obviously, Los Angeles has lots of depth and manager Dave Roberts can put out a high-quality lineup every night. 🎙 The MLB on Fox lead commentary team of Emmy-Award winning play-by-play commentator Joe Davis, analyst and Hall of Famer John Smoltz, & Emmy-Award winning reporter Ken Rosenthal provide commentary for Astros vs. Dodgers live from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
Javier Báez and the top team in the American League Central, the Detroit Tigers, take their incredible talent to the "Baseball Night in America" stage against José Ramírez and the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. The Tigers & Guardians are set to play for the second time this year, with Cleveland taking three out of four games vs. Detroit back in late-May over at Comerica Park in Detroit. The Tigers are not complaining about their MASSIVE 11 1/2 game lead in the American League Central entering this week. For the Guardians, their focus is on the American League Wild Card hunt, as they are currently 2.5 games behind Julio Rodríguez's Seattle Mariners for the last American League Wild Card spot. The Tigers are fueled by LF Riley Greene, who leads the club in batter average at .296. Guardians 3B José Ramírez has been a longtime member of the Indians/Guardians franchise, having played there since his Major League Baseball debut back in 2013. Ramírez is a leader and somebody that the Guardians value very highly. 🎙 Jason Benetti (play-by-play) & Adam Wainwright (analyst) - a 2006 World Series champion - will call Tigers vs. Guardians live from Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
Two clubs that play at opposite ends of the United States get together when Ke'Bryan Hayes and the Pittsburgh Pirates provide the opposition for Randy Arozarena and the Seattle Mariners on Saturday, July 5 at 10:00 PM ET on FS1. The Pirates & Mariners engage in their only series against each other this season from Seattle's T-Mobile Park this weekend. FS1 is televising the middle game of this three-game series. Safe to say, these teams are in two different parts of the standings in their respective leaders. In the American League playoff picture, J.P. Crawford and the Seattle Mariners are in a really good spot, as the franchise currently holds the final Wild Card spot (alongside the Rays & Blue Jays). Flipping things towards the National League playoff picture, Andrew McCutchen's Pittsburgh Pirates are nowhere near a playoff spot, trailing the Cubs by 14 games for the NL Central lead and the Cardinals by 11 games for Wild Card #3. Pittsburgh seriously needs to get on a roll with the All-Star Break approaching to have any chance whatsoever to compete for at least a Wild Card berth. For the Mariners, a series victory here is vital for retaining an American League Wild Card spot. 🎙 Play-by-play commentator Connor Onion teams up with analyst and former National League Rookie of the Year winner Eric Karros to broadcast Pirates vs. Mariners remotely.
