FOX Sports announced on Wednesday their 2019 NFL season schedule. This will mark FOX's 26th year covering the NFL (they started with the 1994 NFL season). 2019 also marks a Super Bowl season for FOX Sports, highlighted by their exclusive presentation of Super Bowl LIV on February 2, 2020 from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Coverage begins with two preseason games in August. The Seattle Seahawks travel to play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, August 18th with 8:00 PM ET kickoff. The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to play the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, August 22nd with 8:00 PM ET kickoff (in essence, a preseason edition of Thursday Night Football presented by Bud Light).

FOX's regular-season coverage begins on Sunday, September 8th with a Week 1 doubleheader: Rams-Panthers (1 p.m.), Redskins-Eagles (1 p.m.), Falcons-Vikings (1 p.m.), Giants-Cowboys (4:25 p.m.), 49ers-Buccaneers (4:25 p.m.) & Lions-Cardinals (4:25 p.m.). Giants at Cowboys is FOX's lead America's Game of the Week telecast for that date.

FOX will possess a highly-acclaimed schedule with America's Game of the Week and Thursday Night Football Presented by Bud Light (Weeks 4-15).

The Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions will be the teams playing on FOX's national Thanksgiving Day game (Thurs., Nov 28 at 12:30 p.m. ET).

America's Game of the Week will be highlighted by last season's NFC Championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints (won by the Rams, 26-23, in a obvious controversial outcome) in Week 2 from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

FOX will televise a NFC Wild Card Game (January 4 or 5), a NFC Divisional Playoff matchup (January 11 or 12), the NFC Championship Game (January 19) & Super Bowl LIV (February 2) when the regular season is over.

    1. Nice! You get Buck/Aikman on NYG-DAL & Stockton/Schlereth on DET-ARI. Brennaman-Spielman will have ATL-MIN in Week 1. Myers-Johnston will have LAR-CAR in Week 1. And Burkhardt-Davis will have WSH-PHI in Week 1 (followed by DAL-WSH in Week 2). All of these have been confirmed by several sources.

      Delete
    2. Tamir Moore, Wow Really? I was trying to get all of it right. I figured that Buck and Aikman calling NYG-DAL was a no brainer but I kind of surprised at the other ones.

  4. No matter how good or bad the two teams are, you can always count on the Buccaneers-Giants games being covered by the Barber twins Tiki and Ronde.

    1. I didn't even know this was possible, but Tiki Barber is scheduled to cover games for both FOX and CBS this season. That has to be a first.

  7. Shockingly Lindsay Czarniak is the new reporter what happened to Sara Walsh?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sara Walsh will still call some "NFL on FOX" games this season. Sara Walsh probably was not freed up to call games during the early parts of the NFL season.

      Delete
  8. Why isn’t Sara Walsh on there anymore?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sara Walsh will still call some games this year. Lindsay Czarniak is getting some reps. Remember, Lindsay has yet to call a "NFL on FOX" game (meaning, sideline report) ... Sara Walsh did some work last year.

      Delete
  9. Anyone else think Brennaman and Spielman were in all reality the number three team last year? It seemed like they got better games and more exposure than Albert and Barber (albeit slightly). It will be interesting to see how this year shakes up with that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous. Besides the #1 team of Buck/Aikman and #2 team of Burkhardt/Davis. Fox sees the Kenny Albert (#3), Thom Brennaman (#4) and Chris Myers (#5) broadcast teams as interchangeable. This year, we could see some funny game assignments once again for crews 3 through 5.

      Delete
  10. Smart move by FOX to send Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Erin Andrews to the Jaguars-Dolphins preseason game in Miami. The Dolphins weren't good enough last year to get a TNF or 4:25 game at home this season, so this was the next best thing. Similar to what Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson did last year by calling the Baltimore Ravens @ Atlanta Falcons game, FOX wants to give their #1 crew a "dry run" in preparation for Super Bowl LIV (the number 54 in Roman Numerals) on February 2nd, 2020.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous. Yeah. Miami had one TNF last season (@Houston). And not only that, their two regularly scheduled FOX home games this season: vs. Washington in Week 6, vs. Philadelphia in Week 13 (Thanksgiving weekend) occur when the Buck/Aikman/Andrews crew is off, thus meaning singleheaders.. And FOX had to give them this trivial as it seems Jaguars-Dolphins preseason game.

Remember, Nantz/Romo/Wolfson in Week 13 last season would've called LA Chargers @ Pittsburgh had that game NOT been flexed to Sunday Night Football. So in that case, they were really lucky that the schedule worked out.

  11. For the Panthers-Texans game in Week 4, I have a feeling that it's going to be either Albert/Barber, Myers/Johnson, or even Burkhardt/Davis/Oliver who might call it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My predictions for week 3 since weeks 1 and 2 are nearly complete:
    Det-Phi- Thom Brennaman/Chris Spielman
    Mia-Dal- Kevin Burkhardt/Charles Davis
    Den-GB- Chris Myers/Daryl Johnston
    Oak-Min- Dick Stockton/Mark Schlereth
NYG-TB- Kenny Albert/Ronde Barber and Tiki Barber (already confirmed)
    Car-Ari- Nick Goon/Brady Quinn

    ReplyDelete
  13. NOTE TO ALL: Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis and Pam Oliver have been assigned to the Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys (Week 3) contest on FOX on Sunday, September 22nd at 1 p.m., ET. Yeah, I know it's kinda a funny game assignment. Remember, Dallas is FOX's favorite NFC team and the Dolphins are playing at Dallas early in the season. So, it's the default game for this crew by almost sheer will.

    1. Hi, Chris. You probably read that off the Wikipedia page. Wikipedia is not always the most reliable source in the world. By the way, Mike Joy will not fill-in for Thom Brennaman when he fills in for Joe Buck. This is something that is completely false and untrue.

  15. I hate that the NFL got rid of the singleheader rule. If a team has a home game on the other network during the doubleheader week then that market shouldn't be allowed to watch the other game unless 3 hours went past.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why? It's more options for the viewer.

    2. Anonymous. They have NFL Sunday Ticket for DIrectv. You can watch any game every week for the whole season no matter where you live. Also this change can impact the home team ticket sales.

      Delete
    3. That is expensive; you can't expect that all people can simply drop everythong, switch (or get) their cable, and purchase Sunday Ticket. I am a college student and that is not in question whatsoever. And is the team ticket sales something people like you or me should be concerned about? Maybe, but I would have to here how.

Chris Myers, Daryl Johnston & Laura Okmin for Vikings-Packers in Week 2 & Broncos-Packers in Week 3. So this means that Brennaman will stay "home" (remember, Brennaman resides / is a native of Cincinnati) for 49ers-Bengals in Week 2 with Chris Spielman & Shannon Spake.

  29. I didn't get the game, but watching the highlights feom YouTube, Kenny Albert sounded better with Greg Olsen in the booth. I feel Ronde Barber drags him down.

  30. Why is the number #6 man Dick Stockton getting so many upper tier games?

    1. It basically seems like they have been the number 3 crew this year with the quality of games they are getting. That's Fox for you: they won't assign games each week by merit quite the way CBS does

    2. Well, this much appears certain. Chris Myers, Daryl "Moose" Johnston & Laura Okmin have already been assigned to work Redskins/Bills in Buffalo, while Thom Brennaman, Chris Spielman & Shannon Spake head to Oakland for Lions/Raiders.

I have to think that Dick Stockton, Mark Schlereth & Jennifer Hale are Seattle-bound to call Buccaneers/Seahawks late Sunday afternoon. I think Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis & the ageless Pam Oliver head to Kansas City to call Vikings/Chiefs. It's been over 2 years since Kenny Albert has called a Bears' game on the "NFL on FOX". I think Albert, Ronde Barber & Lindsay Czarniak (or Sara Walsh?) get Bears/Eagles in Philadelphia. We'll find out soon enough.

    1. djth3greatest, the only reason in my opinion why Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are calling Redskins-Cowboys instead of Eagles-Giants is because Dallas is FOX's favorite NFC team. Give Philly some love besides we get it the Cowboys are America's team.

  77. Justin Kutcher will end up calling no NFL games this year and he disappeared with College Football for Fox. I know he got a new job as a Basketball PBP guy. Is anyone aware if he is no longer with Fox or maybe his schedule just got busy?
