The 50th season of Monday Night Football on ESPN will kick off on Monday, September 9th with doubleheader: Houston at New Orleans (7 p.m., ET) followed by Denver at Oakland (10:15 p.m., ET). ESPN's 17-game scheduled in primetime features the two Super Bowl LII teams: Patriots and Rams.

The MNF opener sees Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans visit Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. The MNF opener nightcap sees Von Miller and the Denver Broncos renew their rivalry with Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders. The Broncos-Raiders matchup ended ESPN's 2018 MNF slate, and will mark the 28th all-time meeting between these two foes on Monday night. Denver will appear on MNF for the 28th straight season (1992-present).

Beginning with the Browns at Jets telecast in Week 2, MNF from that point on will start at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Joe Tessitore, Booger McFarland and Lisa Salters is Monday Night Football's new broadcast team. Steve Levy, Louis Riddick, Brian Griese and Laura Rutledge will form MNF's #2 broadcast team and thus will call the Week 1 Broncos @ Raiders doubleheader game.

  1. ESPN did a good job of picking good teams for MNF this year. A lot of these teams will appear twice. Smart move when you take into account that MNF games cannot be flexed.

    1. That's right. In recent years, ESPN has been under fire for cherry-picking awful or semi-awful matchups.

    2. Right hopefully they'll be good when they are played 🙌

  2. The Bills should've gotten at least one primetime game. They are the only team that does not currently have one (unless they get flexed into one towards the end of the season). A good matchup could have been a Bills MNF or TNF home game against the Eagles or Broncos.
