- Jarren Duran and the Boston Red Sox visit Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees as the two iconic rivals prepare to meet again, with postseason implications. The Yankees look to stay on top in the AL East while the Red Sox try to keep hope for a postseason spot. (Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX)
- Jonny DeLuca and the Tampa Bay Rays battle six-time All-Star José RamÃrez and the Cleveland Guardians in an American League matchup with high stakes. The Guardians attempt to extend their AL Central lead, while Tampa Bay tries to stay in the American League Wild Card picture. (Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX)
The 2024 MLB postseason begins in roughly three weeks. That means we are well into the month of September, as teams play their final regular season games. As you know, these games go a long way in determining the playoff picture that we see at the end of the regular season.
This Thursday night (September 12), FOX plans to regionalize a couple of matchups that have a significant amount of ramifications as the postseason draws closer. Please note that "Baseball Night in America" is airing on Thursday night this week, instead of the traditional Saturday night slot. Coverage of Red Sox vs. Yankees or Rays vs. Guardians will start at 7:00 PM (ET) on the FOX broadcast network. More details about these games will be provided in the ensuing paragraphs.
At 7:00 PM (ET) on FOX Thursday night, Connor Wong and the Boston Red Sox tangle with Juan Soto and the New York Yankees in a longstanding American League East matchup from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York. Fortunately for the baseball fans out there, this game has plenty of postseason implications attached to it. The Yankees are currently the AL East division leader, as they find themselves in a tight divisional race with the Baltimore Orioles. Meanwhile, the Red Sox for fighting for their playoff lives as the regular season reaches the end. 🎙 The #1 MLB on FOX team of Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst) & reporter Ken Rosenthal will have the Thursday night primetime call on FOX.
At 7:00 PM (ET) on FOX Thursday night, Jonathan Aranda and the Tampa Bay Rays head to Cleveland for a matchup with the dangerous and impactful hitter José RamÃrez and the Cleveland Guardians from Progressive Field in Cleveland. The Guardians have the American League Central division lead at the moment and look to find their path towards October postseason play. The Rays are in a desperation situation, as time is running out for them to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. 🎤 Versatile play-by-play commentator Adam Amin will call the play-by-play with analyst and 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright and fellow analyst and 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski.
