(Sunday, September 15 | 1:00 PM ET | CBS)

Following the opening week of the 2024 NFL season, the regular season calendar moves ahead with Week 2 action this weekend (Sunday, September 15) on CBS. For the first time this season, CBS will have a doubleheader, meaning that they can show two games to every single market that is eligible to receive them. In fact, CBS will have a full plate of NFL games this Sunday, September 15, with seven games scheduled including: Jets-Titans, 49ers-Vikings, Raiders-Ravens, Chargers-Panthers, Browns-Jaguars, Bengals-Chiefs and Steelers-Broncos. Keep reading for further information regarding this week's coverage on the NFL on CBS.

The Week 2 NFL on CBS schedule will commence at 12:00 PM (ET) on CBS, with "The NFL Today". Veteran studio host James Brown hosts the program alongside analysts Matt Ryan, Bill Cowher Nate Burleson. Insider Jonathan Jones also joins the team to furnish the latest insider updates across the league, including last-minute injury news for the early slate of 1:00 PM (ET) games.

The Week 2 CBS doubleheader starts at 1:00 PM (ET), with the "early" window of games. Five games comprise CBS's schedule for this window to be regionally distributed throughout the country, including Jets vs. Titans, 49ers vs. Vikings, Raiders vs. Ravens, Chargers vs. Panthers and Browns vs. Jaguars. I will briefly touch on each of these five CBS 1:00 PM (ET) matchups.

Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall and the New York Jets (0-1) complete their two-game road trip to begin the season when they visit Tony Pollard and the Tennessee Titans (0-1) in the Titans' home opener at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. Both teams were defeated in their season openers last week - with Tennessee blowing a 17-point lead in Chicago that ultimately led to them losing 24-17 to the Chicago Bears; while the Jets dropped a contest out in Santa Clara 32-19 to the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers. The Jets-Titans broadcast team includes play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle, analyst Charles Davis and reporter Evan Washburn.

A riveting early season battle takes place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota as Jordan Mason, Fred Warner and the defending NFC champions San Francisco 49ers (1-0) play their first road game of the 2024 season against Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. Obviously, the 49ers are facing a short week following a huge victory on Monday Night Football last week over the Jets, 32-19. Among the Week 1 49ers highlights - MLB Fred Warner forced a fumble, WR Deebo Samuel scored a touchdown, and RB Jordan Mason shined while he filled in for Christian McCaffrey, last year's Offensive of the Player of the Year, who was out due to a calf injury. The Vikings scored an easy win over the inferior New York Giants, 28-6, in Week 1. WR Justin Jefferson scored a touchdown and the Vikings' defense had a field day at MetLife Stadium, only allowing the Giants to score two field goals. The iconic and legendary voice Kevin Harlan gives viewers his unique and special play-by-play. Joining Harlan for the commentary duties are analyst and former quarterback Trent Green and reporter Melanie Collins.

Alexander Mattison and the Las Vegas Raiders (0-1) head to the East Coast for a Week 2 meeting with the reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens (0-1) on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. The Raiders lost to their division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers, 22-10 in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Ravens were handed a bone-crushing defeat by the defending two-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Opening Night, 27-20, as one singular toe of TE Isaiah Likely was the determining factor of Baltimore coming away from Kansas City with a L on the record. Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), Tiki Barber (analyst) & AJ Ross (reporter) will be calling the action for CBS.

Khalil Mack, J.K. Dobbins and the Los Angeles Chargers (1-0), led by first year Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh, open up a two-game East Coast swing against Bryce Young, Dionate Johnson and the Carolina Panthers (0-1) on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. Dobbins registered 135 rushing yards in the Chargers' opening week victory over the Raiders, while the Panthers got curb stomped 47-10 at the hands of their divisional foe, the Saints. Tom McCarthy, Jay Feely and Amanda Balionis will broadcast the action nationally on CBS.

Juan Thornhill and the Cleveland Browns (0-1) search out their first win of the 2024 season on the road against Travis Etienne Jr. and the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM (ET) on CBS. The winner gets their first dub of the 2024 campaign, while the loser quickly drops two games to begin the 2024 season. The Browns lost 33-17 to the Cowboys in Week 1, despite WR Jerry Jeudy scoring his first Browns touchdown and reigning Defensive Player of the Year DE Myles Garrett recording a sack. The Jaguars collapsed last week vs. the Dolphins, falling 20-17 thanks to a last second field goal by the Dolphins as time expired in regulation. Chris Lewis (play-by-play), Jason McCourty (analyst) and Amanda Guerra (sideline reporter) comprise the CBS announcing team for this Week 2 bout.

The Week 2 CBS doubleheader continues at 4:25 PM (ET) with the first "doubleheader" window for CBS this season. Two games construct this national broadcast window - Bengals vs. Chiefs and Steelers vs. Broncos. We will set you up for the late afternoon CBS broadcasts in the subsequent paragraphs following this one.

Two of the top quarterbacks in the American Football Conference (AFC) will link up again as Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) take on Patrick Mahomes and the defending two-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) on Sunday, September 15 at 4:25 PM (ET) on CBS. This is the sixth time that these teams have faced each other since the 2021 season, including the 2021-22 AFC Championship Games (with Cincinnati winning three of these games, including the 2021 AFC Championship). Jim Nantz will call the play-by-play action, with analyst Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson reporting from the sidelines.

Following a week in which Steelers K Chris Boswell drilled SIX field goals in a road victory vs. the Falcons, will Najee Harris and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) finally find paydirt as they travel west to face rookie quarterback Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos (0-1) on Sunday, September 15 at 4:25 PM (ET) on CBS? The Steelers' D pitched a shutout in the second half vs. the Falcons in Week 1, allowing no points throughout the second half en route to an 18-10 win in the Peach State. Meanwhile, Bo Nix went through some rookie growing pains last week against the Seahawks. In a 26-20 loss to the Seahawks in Week 1, Nix went 26-for-42 for 138 yards while tossing two stupid picks - one to safety Julian Love and another to cornerback Riq (formerly known as Tariq) Woolen. Spero Dedes handles play-by-play duties for the broadcast, joined by analyst Adam Archuleta and reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala.
