  • First-ever MLB at Rickwood Field pays tribute to the legacy of The Negro Leagues and Birmingham's Iconic Ballpark
  • FOX Sports celebrates its silver (25th) anniversary of televising the MLB All-Star Game with live coverage of the 2024 MLB All-Star Game from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, July 16 at 8:00 PM ET (7:00 PM CT)
  • FS1 enters their 11th (!!) season of televising MLB games (boy, where has time gone?!)

Batter up! As the 29th season of FOX Sports' Major League Baseball nears us as the cold winter months progress, the network revealed its full schedule on Wednesday (January 10) for the upcoming 2024 MLB regular season - featuring traditional divisional rivalries, an international game and a special edition game added to the slate.

The network is scheduled to start regular season coverage on Saturday, March 30 with three must-see contests, beginning with a showdown in Philadelphia as Ronald Acuña Jr. and the Atlanta Braves visit Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies at 4:00 PM ET on FS1. Braves-Phillies marks the advent of FS1's 11th (!!) year of televising MLB games. Later that night, regionalized action goes to primetime as the New York Yankees travel to Minute Maid Park for a battle with the Houston Astros and the San Francisco Giants lock horns with the divisional foe San Diego Padres, with both games being scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on FOX.

FOX Sports' signature Baseball Night in America program, featuring regionalized primetime broadcasts, returns on Saturday, May 4 (Mariners vs. Astros and Mets vs. Rays, both 7:00 PM ET starts).

2024 Season Highlights:
  • A longtime rivalry in the National League is set to be renewed across the pond as Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets tangle with Kyle Schwarber and the Philadelphia Phillies during the first game of the 2024 MLB World Tour: London Series. The action at London Stadium in London begins on Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 PM ET on FOX.
  • Following several notable offseason signings, the highly anticipated interleague series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees makes its appearance on Baseball Night in America on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 PM ET on FOX as Shohei Ohtani and his new team face off against Juan Soto and the Bronx Bombers.
  • In the latest installment of special regular season games, MLB at Rickwood Field pays tribute to The Negro Leagues and its greatest living player - National Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays. The oldest professional ballpark in the United States, and the former home site of the Birmingham Black Barons, is set to provide the backdrop to a historic matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, June 20 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX.
  • FOX Sports returns to the state of Texas (fresh off the Rangers' World Series championship last season) as baseball's best players meet in the annual Midsummer Classic (2024 MLB All-Star Game presented by MasterCard) on Tuesday, July 16 at 8:00 PM ET on FOX. FOX celebrates their 25th televising of the All-Star Game this year.

  2. I feel like Ken Rosenthal might work on a game from April 6-April 20. What do you think?

    1. @Mark T. Mark, you are onto something! Ken Rosenthal is working in Chicago this weekend for FS1, working alongside Kenny Albert & Eric Karros. Makes sense, since FOX's next broadcast isn't scheduled until April 27 (the end of this month).

    2. Yeah, and I have a feeling that he might work on the Rangers-Astros game next week.

    1. @Mark T. Thanks, Mark. It seems like Connor Onion is going to be used regularly for MLB coverage this year for FS1 (at least), since he received a Diamondbacks-Mariners game a few weeks later (Saturday, Apr. 27) alongside Dontrelle Willis.

Since plenty of FOX's existing MLB talent -- Joe Davis, Kenny Albert, Jason Benetti will be preoccupied for the first few months due to playoff and/or local team commitments, so FOX needs to expand their play-by-play stable to account for this.

  8. Did kugler confirm he was calling Braves-Mets? (Also does that mean he won't call the UFL this week?)

    1. @Mark T. Yes, Kugler confirmed that he was doing Braves-Mets on Saturday. I'm sorry man that I'm late getting back to you.

Kugler confirmed this via Twitter/X on Wednesday afternoon -- https://twitter.com/kevinkugler/status/1788298333838078214

Kugler mentioned in that tweet he was calling the mid-week Diamondbacks-Reds game plus the Saturday Braves-Mets game.

  10. Will Kevin Kugler be calling UFL this weekend?

    1. @Mark T. Mark, Kugler will not be calling a UFL game this weekend. FOX has just one game on Saturday, St. Louis/Birmingham, and Curt Menefee, Joel Klatt & Brock Huard will be calling that game.

    1. @Mark T. Mark, thank you again for keeping me updated! In fact, Kevin Kugler is gonna be "off the grid" for a while (per Kugler's X/Twitter), so we won't see Kugler on any FOX/FS1 MLB games for a little while following tonight's game.

    2. You're welcome. I wonder why?

      Delete
    3. @Mark T. Mark, Kugler is likely going to be on summer vacation for the next several weeks. In addition to calling games on FS1, Kugler most recently called the Men's College World Series on the radio. So Kugler probably needs some time off.

    1. @Mark T. Apparently, it was a late add to the schedule. I didn't plan for this game to be on the schedule whatsoever. But, FOX decided to surprise all of us and just randomly add a Padres-Pirates game to the FS1 schedule.

    1. @Desmond1992 Hi, Desmond. From what I understand, the announcers are back to working the FS1 games on-site. They just don't appear on camera tho. But from all indications, they are on-site since it sounds like they are at the stadium, and not calling the game off-monitor (like they had been doing for the past four years).

  28. Why is the Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins Game is on FS1 Tomorrow Night?Los Angeles Angels is not going to the Playoffs so I really don't understand and FS1 really needs to put Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers on FS1 Next Monday Night and Houston Astros and San Diego Padres on there Next Wednesday Evening so Hopefully FS1 also get this one Right.
