Hello, everyone! The 2018 NFL regular-season schedule was released on Thursday night and with that, we now have the slate for the Thursday Night lineup of games. Of course, NFL Network will partake at this beginning of the football weekend party. But, this year, a new network comes into the fold. Fox Sports, who airs outstanding Sunday afternoon NFC coverage will be adding a Thursday package to their lineup. Fox will be airing 11 TNF games between Week 4 and Week 15 (obviously except for Thanksgiving day), with All of them being simulcast on NFL Network. In all, there will be 18 games aired on NFL Network (13 TNF and 5 either games either on Saturday or Sunday) with Fox producing them all.

  1. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman finally get to call a Dolphins game in week 8. I think this team and the Bills are the only two teams they have not covered since they started working together in 2002.

    1. I think Buck will be doing baseball during this time, so it will interesting to see if this affects his ability to call TNF.

    2. Yeah he may not be available to call weeks 6-8. Have Buck and Aikman called a Jaguars or Browns game yet?

      Delete
    3. Yes they have. According to this link, they called games against the Cowboys (surprise surprise) in 2006 and 2008, respectively: http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Rec/rec.sport.football.pro/2009-11/msg00013.html

    4. Buck/Aikman haven’t done Dolphins games. Aikman did call the Bills shutting out the Redskins in 2011 with Thom Brennaman.

    5. Buck/Aikman did Jaguars/Cowboys in 2006 and Browns/Cowboys in 2008.

    6. Have they called a Raiders game yet?

      Delete
    7. Yeah. 49ers-Raiders back in 2002 (with Cris Collinsworth as the third man upstairs).

    8. Joe Buck did Buffalo Bills game back in 1994 when Fox got the NFL. Buffalo defeated Green Bay Week 12 of 1994.

  2. I believe Aikman called the Redskins-Bills game in Toronto in 2011, but that was with Thom Brennaman, not Buck.

    1. That was because of MLB playoffs for Buck. Did Jets ever get Buck?

      Delete
    2. Yes. Buck/Aikman (and Collinsworth when he worked with them) has covered the Jets twice. They did the Seahawks-Jets December game in 2004. They also did the Bears-Jets game in 2006 on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving.

    3. And Joe Buck did the Jets/Rams in 1995 with Tim Green

  3. There's no way Buck is available to call TNF for Weeks 6-8

    1. Well, Fox said barring any schedule changes during the MLB Playoffs. Buck WILL be doing the National League Championship Series and World Series [later on] in addition to TNF. So, Buck's gonna have to find some way to make this "crazy" schedule work.

      Delete
    2. Thom Brennaman would have to call those weeks 6-8 since he's filled in for Buck for the last several years

      Delete
    3. All 3 Thursday nights are travel days for the NLCS and the World Series so he could do it with some crazy traveling. Even better, if the Houston Astros make the world series, games 1 and 2 in Houston will be the two nights prior to the Texans vs. Dolphins TNF game in week 8 and so I bet he would be able to call it for sure.

  4. So Buck and Aikman will work for NFL Network too?

    1. Yeah, technically. Because Fox is producing all of the TNF (both NFLN only and FOX/NFLN) / Saturday's DH in Weeks 15 & 16 / The Eagles-Jaguars game from London this season.

      Delete
    2. In regards to the London game, probably the 3/4 team may call the Eagles/Jaguars game.

  5. NFL Network pregame: Ravens vs. Bengals (September 13) In case y'all wondered to know:

Main Studio (inside Paul Brown Stadium): Colleen Wolfe, Reggie Bush, Michael Irvin & Steve Smith, Sr.
Second Studio (outside Paul Brown Stadium): Dan Hellie & LaDamian Tomlinson

Note: The Pregame is using the NFL on FOX graphics.

    1. The Buck/Aikman crew has called a couple of Chargers games in the past: vs. Cowboys in 2005, and vs. Bears in 2007.

Indeed Joe Buck is calling Eagles-Giants on Thursday night. It will be interesting to see if he ends up all 3 week which were in question. (6-8)

    1. Joe called Eagles/Giants last night. So, he's gonna be called all of TNF games after all.

  9. Will Sam Rosen and Ronde Barber call the Eagles-Jaguars game in London?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah probably. Since they are the highest crew left after Brennaman/Aikman and Albert/Davis for October 28th. And Besides, Brennaman/Aikman will have Packers-Rams and Albert/Davis will have Redskins-Giants. Both teams are good enough to get an high crew assignment ...

  10. Rich Eisen has just confirmed on today's NFL Gameday Morning that he and his crew will be calling the Eagles-Jaguars Week 8 game in London. Melissa Stark and Peter Schrager will be on the sidelines.

The previous comment is right. I did not see this coming. The NFL Gameday Morning Crew (Rich Eisen, Steve Mariucci, Kurt Warner and Michael Irvin) will call the game with Melissa Stark and Peter Schrager on the sidelines. What a first game for them to call! (I do not think they have done one before)

    1. Well, that guarantees Sam Rosen and ex-Buc Ronde Barber will call Tampa Bay-Cincinnati.
