Hello, everyone. With the 2018 NFL regular-season schedule released on Thursday night, we now have the schedule for NBC's primetime love affair, Sunday Night Football. Sunday Night Football will enter its 13th season on NBC this fall, with games that will attract your interest and viewership. NBC's NFL coverage this year will start with two preseason games: Ravens vs. Bears in the Hall of Fame Game from Canton (Thursday, August 2nd - 8:00 PM) & Cardinals vs. Cowboys (Sunday, August 26th - 8:00 PM). Following this, NBC will begin its' weekly prime-time series starting on Sunday, September 9th with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Chicago Bears. The game will mark the start of the Packers' 100th NFL season. In addition, NBC will also televise this year: the Kickoff Game between the Atlanta Falcons and defending Super Bowl LII Champion Philadelphia Eagles (September 6) from Philadelphia, the Thanksgiving Night game between the Falcons and the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans (November 22) and some playoff games as well that include: one Wild Card game (January 6) and one Divisional Playoff game (January 12).

  1. I predict Chiefs vs Seahawks will get flexed out for Buccaneers vs Cowboys (like 2016) or Bears vs 49ers(Seahawks will not be in the playoff picture at this point).

    1. I have a feeling that Buccaneers-Cowboys may get flexed in like 2016 as well. Selfishly, if a west coast game gets replaced by a game in central time zone that would have otherwise kicked off at 12:00 PM, I prefer that with the west coast game starting at 4:05 PM/4:25 PM (depending on what network gets the game).

    2. Texans-Eagles would be a good choice, but the Eagles already play Atlanta, Dallas, and at the LA Rams in the SNF format, so that wouldn't work. Steelers-Saints will probably be protected by CBS.

    3. If anything, the Cowboys should be flexed out of their games against the Texans and Eagles, be we know NBC and the NFL would never do that. The Cowboys are still "America's Team" and draw big ratings, win or lose.

  2. They should flex Jaguars-Chiefs into SNF Week 5 if they continue to play well and the Cowboys-Texans continue to struggle. I know they're both small markets, but they're both fun teams to watch.

  3. It looks like they're going to flex Richard Sherman's return to Seattle in Week 13 now that Jimmy G is done for the season. The NFL gambled on them and the 49ers living up to the hype and it backfired. There are so many options for a replacement game, but it definitely won't be Vikings-Patriots because that game will probably be protected by FOX.

    1. The Patriots can only have 3 SNF appearances anyway (unless they are flexed into the Week 17 slot). The Los Angeles Chargers are a decent team, and the play the Steelers that week, but CBS would probably like to hold on to that matchup. Jets-Titans could be a good matchup to replace it. I'm pretty sure NBC could promote Sam Darnold vs Marcus Mariota. That would give the both teams their first SNF game in years too.

    2. Jets last SNF game was against New England on Thanksgiving Night in 2012 (Week 12). Titans last SNF game was WAY back on in 2009 against Indianapolis (Week 6).

  4. I've got another one that may be flexed no one's mentioned it Steelers at Jaguars if the Steelers are having a bad year

    1. I think that game will stay if the Jags continue to play well. I don't think NBC and the NFL want to take one of their most popular teams, Pittsburgh, out of primetime so soon. Plus, Jacksonville has not made a SNF appearance since they played the Steelers in 2008. However, if the Steelers and Gruden's Raiders both have bad records and are out of the playoff picture by week 14, I could see the NFL and NBC wanting to "give" a SNF game back to the Rams when they face the Bears at a freezing Soldier Field. That game could possibly be an NFC Championship preview. This will also give the Bears more national exposure too because they don't have any more primetime games otherwise.

  5. This probably won't happen, but other options for Week 13 & 14 games could be Rams-Lions and Panthers-Browns. This would kill two birds in one stone. This gives a game back to the Rams after being flexed out of Week 7 and it puts Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns into the primetime spotlight at the Dawg Pound after being the laughing stock of the NFL for years, assuming they're in the playoff hunt by that time. They would be facing a very talented Panthers squad lead by Cam Newton.

  7. Anyone on here have an idea about which game they'll flex into Sunday night for week 17?

  8. The Week 17 SNF game is a win or go home game between the Colts and the Titans. A smart move by the NFL. Happy holidays!!

  9. By the way Colts vs. Titans is the week 17 matchup
