- TNT's fourth season of NHL coverage begins with a Opening Week doubleheader on Wednesday, October 9: Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers, winners of the 2024 Presidents' Trophy, take on future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins (7:30 PM ET); 2024 Hart Trophy Winner Nathan MacKinnon leads his Colorado Avalanche into battle with Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights (10:00 PM ET).
- NHL on TNT to serve as the exclusive home of the season's biggest events: The Discover NHL Winter Classic from historic Wrigley Field in Chicago on New Year's Day (Blues vs. Blackhawks) & the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
- Regular season coverage on TNT in 2024-25 is accentuated by exclusive Wednesday night doubleheaders, a Black Friday doubleheader (Friday, November 29), 4 Nations Face-Off games this February & six weeks of Sunday broadcasts starting on Sunday, February 23, with tripleheaders on Sunday, March 2 & Sunday, April 6.
The 2024-25 NHL season marks the fourth season of live game coverage for Turner Sports (Warner Bros. Discovery or however you want to call it). TNT has an eye-catching 62-game regular season slate on the docket this season. The action gets going on Wednesday, October 9, during the first week of the regular season. A marquee doubleheader on TNT starts at 7:30 PM (ET) when the extraordinary superstar Sidney Crosby - beginning his 20th NHL campaign - and his Pittsburgh Penguins welcome in Artemi Panarin and the 2024 Presidents' Trophy winner, the New York Rangers, to town.
The distinguished schedule on TNT for 2024-25 also has Wednesday night games basically every week, the Discover NHL Winter Classic on New Year's Day, the 4 Nations Face-Off in February & live games on Sunday afternoons, beginning in late February 2025.
The 2024-25 season will reach an ultimate crescendo when TNT provides exclusive coverage of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final (their second presentation of this event). Furthermore, Turner will furnish live coverage of half of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs - First Round, Second Round, and a Conference Final (with ABC/ESPN getting the conference final that TNT does not receive). All of NHL on TNT's 2024-25 regular season games and 2025 Stanley Cup Playoff coverage, in addition to pre and postgame coverage, will be simulcasted on truTV.
The NHL on TNT's opening week coverage will surely highlight the current modern-day stories that shape the National Hockey League today. In addition to Sidney Crosby's long-lasting two decades in the NHL being a subject for discussion, Opening Week on TNT continues on Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 PM (ET). Two of the last three Stanley Cup Champions will hit the ice for a match as Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon and the 2022 Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche battle Jack Eichel, Mark Stone and the 2023 Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights.
The 2024-25 NHL on TNT regular season schedule of games will promote some of the biggest stars and rivalries in hockey, with exclusive coverage on 25 Wednesday nights throughout the year as well as the annual Thanksgiving Showdown on Black Friday, Friday, November 29 - Penguins vs. Bruins at 6:30 PM (ET) followed by Avalanche vs. Stars at 9:00 PM (ET).
TNT will serve as the exclusive broadcast home once again of the Discover NHL Winter Classic on New Year's Eve, kicking off at 5:00 PM (ET), as Calder Memorial Trophy winner Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks protect home ice against Jordon Kyrou and the visiting St. Louis Blues at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago. For Bedard, he is expected to play in his first outdoor game as a professional NHL player.
The NHL on TNT will also broadcast three of the highly anticipated 4 Nations Face-Off games, the first of the round robin matchups, Sweden vs. Canada on Wednesday, February 12 at 8:00 PM (ET), and a President's Day doubleheader on Monday, February 17 - Finland vs. Canada at 1:00 PM (ET) & Sweden vs. the United States at 8:00 PM (ET).
Additional 2024-25 NHL on TNT regular season schedule highlights to keep in mind include:
- On Wednesday, October 23, at 7:30 PM (ET), the second leading goal scorer of all-time Alex Ovechkin is slated to make the first of his five scheduled appearances on TNT, leading the Washington Capitals against the Philadelphia Flyers, continuing his chase of Wayne Gretzky's record of 894 goals.
- TNT will televise a Thanksgiving Eve doubleheader on Wednesday, November 27 as Victor Hedman, Nikita Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning play host to the Capitals at 7:30 PM (ET), followed by Jack Eichel, Mark Stone and the Golden Knights visiting Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche at 10:00 PM (ET).
- Stars 🌠will hit the ice on Wednesday, December 4 as Brad Marchand, David Pastrňák and the Bruins take on Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 PM (ET) in a Original Six showdown, followed by Jason Robertson, Jake Oettinger and the Stars visiting Anže Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings at 10:00 PM (ET).
- Matthew Tkachuk, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers to TNT's rink on Wednesday, December 18 to square off with Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild at 9:30 PM (ET). The night's coverage begins at 7:00 PM (ET) when Travis Konecny and the Philadelphia Flyers travel to Detroit to play Patrick Kane and the Detroit Red Wings.
- In their first season as an NHL franchise, the Utah Hockey Club (formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes), will play three times on TNT: vs. Panthers on Wednesday, January 8 at 10:00 PM (ET), vs. Penguins on Wednesday, January 29 at 9:30 PM (ET) & vs. Ducks on Wednesday, March 12 at 10:00 PM (ET).
- In a preeminent doubleheader on Wednesday, February 5, the action opens up at 7:00 PM (ET) as Eastern Conference heavyweights Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, and the New York Rangers host Brad Marchand, David Pastrňák and the Boston Bruins, followed by Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the 2024 Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers - making one of their five appearances on the station this year - visting Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks at 9:30 PM (ET).
- NHL on TNT Sunday afternoon games begin on Sunday, February 23, highlighted by two tripleheaders on Sunday, March 2 & Sunday, April 6:
- Sunday, March 2: American born superstar Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Pittsburgh Penguins (1:00 PM ET); Boston Bruins at Minnesota Wild (3:30 PM ET); & St. Louis Blues at Dallas Stars (6:00 PM ET).
- Sunday, April 6: Washington Capitals at New York Islanders (12:30 PM ET); Dallas Stars at Minnesota Wild (3:00 PM ET); & Florida Panthers at Detroit Red Wings (5:30 PM ET).
- On Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00 PM (ET), the NHL on TNT will broadcast Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars battling Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in a re-match of the 2024 Western Conference Final. Earlier in the evening, the Devils visit the Blackhawks at 7:30 PM (ET).
- The NHL on TNT finishes up the regular season on Wednesday, April 16 headlined by Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings facing off against Jack Hughes and the New Jersey Devils at 7:30 PM (ET). At 10:00 PM (ET), 2024 Jack Adams Award winner Rick Tocchet, Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes and the Vancouver Canucks hosting Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights.
