Sunday Night Football on NBC, the top show in America in primetime for an unparalleled 13 consecutive years now, is the broadcast home for the finest and brightest in 2024, starting off the season with Patrick Mahomes and the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs once again raising a championship banner at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium before hosting 2023 league MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in NFL Kickoff 2024. This game, of course, is a re-match of last season's AFC Championship Game and marks the first time that a set of quarterbacks with multiple MVP awards meet in Week 1. The season opener is the first of FOUR (yes, FOUR) appearances by Mahomes and the Chiefs on NBC and Peacock this season.
The following evening (Friday, September 6), Peacock is the exclusive national broadcast home as Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers face off with Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paolo, Brazil, marking the first time that the NFL has ever played a game in Brazil and the league's first opening weekend game on a Friday night since 1970 (Cardinals/Rams). Then, on Sunday, September 8, on NBC and Peacock, in yet another postseason rematch from the 2023 season, Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams travel to play Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in the season premiere of Sunday Night Football.
Aaron Rodgers is set to make his first appearances as a New York Jet on Sunday Night Football, when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (Sunday, October 20) and host the Indianapolis Colts (Sunday, November 17).
Peacock will once again stream all Sunday Night Football on NBC games, including the postseason, and the Football Night in America studio show featuring the returning cast of Maria Taylor (welcome back! 👏), Devin McCourty, Chris Simms, Jason Garrett, Matthew Berry & Mike Florio.
For the third straight season, the trio of play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico, analyst Cris Collinsworth & reporter Melissa Stark will return to provide commentary for each week's Sunday night game on NBC & Peacock. For select games, NBC will use a secondary broadcast team - Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Todd Blackledge (analyst) & Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter). Eagle, Blackledge & Tappen will call the Week 1 Packers vs. Eagles game in Sao Paolo, Brazil and a game to TBD in Week 16.
- Highlights of the 2024 Sunday Night Football on NBC schedule include:
- Four appearances by the two-time defending Super Bowl Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Ravens in Week 1, at Falcons in Week 3, vs. Chargers in Week 14 & vs. Texans in Week 16); three appearances by the Dallas Cowboys (including two games vs. historic postseason rivals Pittsburgh Steelers & San Francisco 49ers), Green Bay Packers (including São Paolo & Thanksgiving night), & the defending AFC South champion Houston Texans.
- 13 games featuring two 2023 playoff teams and NBC Sports' record SEVEN meetings between division winners from last season.
- The Dallas Cowboys make three appearances on Sunday Night Football in 2024, as per usual. In fact, two of three matchups stand out in particular. On Sunday, October 6, they will travel to Pittsburgh to meet up with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first matchup on NBC between these two longtime rivals since Super Bowl XXX in 1996. These teams faced off in two Super Bowls during the 1970's (with each team winning once). The Cowboys and Steelers have each played in the Super Bowl eight times (tied for second all-time, only behind the New England Patriots, who have been in the Super Bowl a record 11 times). Combined, the Cowboys (five) & Steelers (six) have 11 Lombardi Trophies between them. Three weeks later, on Sunday, October 27, the Cowboys will fly out west to battle the San Francisco 49ers, another team that Dallas has a lengthy postseason résumé against. The teams have played in nine playoff games over the years, including six NFC Championship games. Finally, on December 22, the Cowboys will welcome in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys have defeated the Buccaneers in all three postseason meetings between the clubs, including Tom Brady's final game in January 2023.
On NBC and Peacock, NBC Sports will present 22 regular season games this season, 18 regular season Sunday Night Football games, NFL Kickoff Game, the Peacock exclusive Week 1 Brazil game between the Packers & Eagles, the annual Thanksgiving night game between the Dolphins & Packers, & a special Saturday afternoon Week 16 broadcast between the Texans & Chiefs. NBC Sports will televise two playoff games this season, one Wild Card game & Divisional Playoff game. NBC and Peacock will also provide live coverage of one preseason game (Patriots vs. Commanders) this August. In total, NBC Sports will present 25 NFL games during the 2024 season.
On the weekend of January 11-12, NBC & Peacock will televise a Wild Card playoff game, followed by a Divisional Playoff game on the weekend of January 18-19.

who calls the Sunday Night Football games? Noah Eagle or Mike Tirico?
ReplyDelete@Ke'Aundre Pinkey Hi, Ke'Aundre! Mike Tirico is the #1 announcer, and thus calls most of the Sunday Night Football games (with Cris Collinsworth & Melissa Stark). Noah Eagle is the #2 announcer, working select games (with Todd Blackledge & Kathryn Tappen).
DeleteSo who's gonna call the game in Brazil?
ReplyDelete@Mark T. Mark, it's gonna be the Noah Eagle-led crew (Eagle, Blackledge, Tappen). Since I understand that the main Tirico/Collinsworth/Stark crew will be calling the Ravens/Chiefs and Rams/Lions games during Opening weekend.
DeleteOk. That makes sense.
DeleteRudy Martzke says that Kaylee Hartung, not Kathryn Tappen will be with Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge for the brazil game. I think Tappen will be with whoever calls the Colorado Nebraska game on Big Ten Saturday Night that week. But Eagle, Blackledge and Hartung will be in Brazil so all I know is Eagle and Blackledge will not call the big ten saturday night game that week, since a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Lincoln, Nebraska is like 13 hours.
ReplyDeleteSteelers vs Cowboys is now official who's calling That game because it 's already has it 's 12 day max pass for flexible scheduling?
ReplyDelete@jtcramerdog@gmail.com Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth and Melissa Stark will call Cowboys-Steelers
DeleteOk thanks
DeleteFlex Predictions:
ReplyDeleteWeek 12: PHI LAR swapped for MIN CHI
Week 17: MIA CLE swapped for GB MIN
I really hope they flex Bengals-Giants out in week 6.
DeleteI agree with Both of You and I really think They need to Flexed Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants and Put Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints Instead and Flex Predictions for Weeks 12 and 17 also need to be swapped as Well so that would be the Right Thing.
ReplyDeleteNBC Sunday Night Football Games Weeks 7,9, and 11 Between New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles, and Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets All Need to be Flexed.
DeleteAbsolutely. All those games suck.
DeleteOh, I'll almost forgot that Week 8 Matchup Between Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers Also May Be Flexed Out of Sunday Night Football But l don't know Yet So We will see and Also, Week 13 Matchup Between Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Night Most Likely to Be Flexed.
ReplyDeleteThey need to Put Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders on NBC Sunday Night Football by Replacing Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, Which Should Be Flexed.
ReplyDeleteSteelers vs Jets can't be fluxed anymore so you can officially put Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth and Melissa Stark in I know you appreciate my help TamirMoore
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming based off what you said before
ReplyDeleteTamirMoore I noticed you got my comments and I was right
ReplyDelete@jtcramerdog@gmail.com Yes, bro, I do get your comments and you're absolutely right bro! Thanks for your help! I really do appreciate it!
DeleteYou're welcome
DeleteThank You as Well.
ReplyDeleteI have: IND MIN or DEN BAL in Week 9, MIN CHI in Week 12, and ATL WSH in Week 17 as flexes
ReplyDeleteJags vs Eagles has been flexed out for Colts-Vikings.
ReplyDeleteI really do have Minnesota Vikings andChicago Bears to Replace Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams on Week 12 for Sunday Night Football on NBC and I'll also have Both Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets to be Replaced by Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11 and Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns Also to be Flexed Out in Week 17 by Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings so I really do agree with Both of You and It's Possible that Both Weeks 13 and 16 between San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys Sunday Night Football Games on NBC could also be flexed out so Appreciate that so Anyone agree with My Predictions?
ReplyDeleteNBC needs to Do the Right Thing by Flexing Certain Sunday Night Football NFL Games by Putting Good Teams on There.
ReplyDeleteWith IND MIN getting flexed in I think IND NYJ gets flexed out for ATL DEN. Also I'm not going to pick it yet but with Tampa injuries and tough upcoming schedule I do think there is a chance that PHI WSH gets flexed in especially since NFL will be hesitant to take MNF away from Lambeau and Eagles have already lost one SNF and may lose another in Week 12.
ReplyDeleteAgree with That and With the Next Two to Three Weeks,We might see A Lot of Flexing NFL Changing Certain NFL Games So Stay Tuned so Thank You and I really appreciate that so Keep Me Updated on Anything.
ReplyDeleteI now think PHI LAR should stay unless the Rams drop next 2 and are 3-6 when NBC has to make the decision on November 12
ReplyDeleteThere is a change on SNF week 11. Bengals @ Chargers will now be SNF. This is expected as both the Colts and the Jets are a combined 7-11 on the season, while the Bengals and the Chargers are both fighting for some wild card spots. This move means Colts @ Jets will now kickoff at 1:00 PM ET on CBS and Chiefs @ Bills will be nationally televised at 4:25 PM ET on CBS for week 11.
ReplyDeleteColts vs Jets was flexed out for week 11 TamirMoore and moved to 1PM on CBS and Bengals vs Chargers which is listed at 4:25 on CBS have moved to 8:20 on NBC's Sunday Night Football 11-17 is the date
ReplyDeleteBesides the Week 11 flex coming up I think TB DAL and for sure MIA CLE get flexed out but nothing in Weeks 12-15
ReplyDeleteI agree with You More and It looks like Weeks 12 through 15 More Likely NFL Games will be Flexed.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if FOX can protect Eagles Commanders Week 16 or not because they already have a large national game the day before with Steelers Ravens and also have Vikings Seahawks all alone at 4:05 ET?
ReplyDelete
