* For the first time in this blog's nearly decade-long history (!!), the college football game/broadcast schedule for NBC Sports will be tracked.

* NBC Sports adds to the college football portfolio in 2023 with "Big Ten Saturday Night", a Big Ten game slated for Saturday primetime broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

* NBC's 2023 college football schedule begins on Saturday, August 26, with Notre Dame's home opener in Dublin, Ireland to face off with Navy (2:30 p.m. ET on NBC & Peacock).

* The first-ever edition of "Big Ten Saturday Night" takes place on Saturday, September 2 as Penn State hosts West Virginia (7:30 p.m. ET on NBC & Peacock); Note -- "Big Ten Saturday Night" games will be preceded by a pregame show called "B1G College Countdown" (more details to be provided about that later).

Hey, everyone! I have some really, exciting news to share with you all. For the first time EVER, I have decided to expand my college football offerings besides games airing on FOX and FS1. I will now be tracking college football games to be aired on the NBC broadcast network and Peacock, beginning with the 2023 season this fall.

NBC begins their 33rd season covering the home games of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame's home schedule is highlighted by primetime affairs with Ohio State (Saturday, Sept. 23) and longtime rival USC (Saturday, Oct. 14). Both games will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC and streaming on Peacock.

The Fighting Irish plays host to Ohio State on Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC and Peacock. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 5-2 and will play their first game at Notre Dame Stadium since 1996.

Later in the season, Notre Dame welcomes USC in another edition of the greatest intersectional college football rivalry on Saturday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC and Peacock. Since 1926, USC and Notre Dame have played each other in most seasons. As of 2023, Notre Dame leads the all-time series 50-37-5.

Peacock is planning to exclusively broadcast a game on Saturday, September 16, when Notre Dame hosts Central Michigan at 2:30 p.m. (ET). This will mark the first-ever meeting between these two schools.

NBC begins coverage of Notre Dame's 2023 season on Saturday, August 26, at 2:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC and Peacock, when the Fighting Irish pay a visit to Dublin, Ireland to clash with the Navy Midshipmen at Aviva Stadium. Following a close 35-32 win in Baltimore, Maryland last season, Notre Dame owns an 81-13-1 advantage in the all-time series.

In addition to the previously announced Notre Dame games, NBC Sports plans to present live coverage from Notre Dame Stadium for the Fighting Irish's home games against Tennessee State on Saturday, September 2, at 3:30 p.m. (ET) - Notre Dame's first-ever competition versus a HBCU, versus Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 28 at 3:30 p.m. (ET), and the home finale against Wake Forest on Saturday, November 18 at 3:30 p.m. (ET).

Throughout the 2023 season, Peacock will be streaming every single Notre Dame broadcast on NBC (excluding their previously mentioned exclusive broadcast in mid-September).

As for NBC's other major college football package, the Peacock network (NBC and Peacock) is adding the Big Ten to their football lineup, beginning this fall. NBC is debuting "Big Ten Saturday Night" this September, which represents the first time that the Big Ten will have a dedicated weekly primetime game on broadcast television. Beginning in 2023, NBC Sports begins a seven-year relationship with the Big Ten Conference, featuring "Big Ten Saturday Night" as the centerpiece of that agreement.

"Big Ten Saturday Night" will debut on NBC and Peacock on Saturday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. (ET), when Penn State - winners of last year's Rose Bowl - hosts West Virginia at Beaver Stadium for the 50th meeting between the two schools. In fact, this is the first matchup between these two programs since 1992. On the call for West Virginia-Penn State is the new "Big Ten Saturday Night" crew of Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Todd Blackledge (analyst) & Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter). Eagle, Blackledge & Tappen will serve as the lead broadcast team for "Big Ten Saturday Night".

Earlier that day (Saturday, Sept. 2), NBC Sports presents their first-ever Big Ten game under this new package, as Michigan hosts East Carolina at "The Big House", exclusively on Peacock at 12 p.m. (ET).

Prior to "Big Ten Saturday Night" games, NBC will have a half-hour pregame show called "B1G College Countdown", debuting on Saturday, September 2 at 7 p.m. (ET) on NBC. Maria Taylor hosts the show, alongside analysts Joshua Perry, Matt Cassel, and Michael Robinson. Plus, Ahmed Fareed joins the cast as a co-host. The "B1G College Countdown" team will be on-site at the "Big Ten Saturday Night" game in addition to select Notre Dame games (for select weeks, the team will be at NBC Sports Group's studios in Stamford, Connecticut). For Notre Dame games, the pregame show will be referred to as "College Countdown".

Yeah I know, that's plenty of information to take in! But I'm ready to have a little bit more on my plate this fall.

Announcer assignments will be provided when they are announced.
