* Seattle, Washington to play host to FOX's 24th MLB All-Star Game telecast - Tuesday, July 11 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT)

* FOX Sports to return to London, England for the Cubs vs. Cardinals Rivalry Game on Saturday, June 24 at 1 p.m. (ET)

With the 2023 Major League Baseball regular season almost upon us, FOX Sports has released their full 2023 MLB regular season broadcast schedule across FOX and FS1 (FS1's game schedule will be linked below). FOX is set to begin their 28th season of Major League Baseball coverage.

FOX plans to take the field for the first time during the opening week of the season. On Saturday, April 1, the FOX broadcast network will be the home for two regionalized broadcasts to kick off FOX's slate of games. At 4:00 PM (ET) on FOX, viewers will see either Trea Turner and the Philadelphia Phillies take on Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers from Arlington, Texas or Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees host Brandon Crawford and the San Francisco Giants in the Bronx.

Starting on Saturday, May 6, "Baseball Night in America' returns to the FOX national airwaves. FOX will have regionalized baseball telecasts in primetime for 16 Saturdays during the regular season. FOX's first "Baseball Night in America" broadcast on Saturday, May 6, has two great matchups, featuring the Boston Red Sox visiting the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia or the Atlanta Braves facing off with the Baltimore Orioles. Both games will begin at 7:00 PM (ET).

On Saturday, June 24, FOX Sports returns to the United Kingdom for exclusive coverage of the London Series at 1:00 PM (ET) as the Chicago Cubs take on the St. Louis Cardinals in a hostile NL Central rivalry game across the pond.

Then a few weeks later, on Tuesday, July 11, the biggest and brightest stars in the game have a opportunity to be showcased in front of a national audience as FOX televises the 2023 MLB All-Star Game, live from Seattle's T-Mobile Park, at 8:00 PM (ET). This year's telecast is the 24th time that FOX is televising the Midsummer Classic.

This year's MLB on FOX schedule can be found below, with the FS1 schedule also attached as well.

    1. @Mark T. Mark, to be quite honest, I don't know why. FOX doesn't have any sports conflicts on Saturday night. They have "Stand Up to Cancer" at 8 p.m. (ET) followed by "MasterChef" at 9 p.m. (ET). That's it. Basically, regular programming minus "Stand Up to Cancer".

    1. @Mark T. Hmm. Didn't watch the game last night and Ken didn't tweet out a bowtie post on Twitter/whatever the heck that damn thing is called now (which indicates that he's working a game later that day). So maybe, he requested Thursday off and was moved to Saturday.

  50. Why is Ken Rosenthal working with AJ Pierzynski and not John Smoltz?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @Mark T. I think FOX wanted to switch the announcer pairings up. It kinda gets boring working with the same crew all season long. Sometimes, you have to change it up and work alongside somewhere else.

      Delete
    2. That makes sense. Maybe he asked for it.

  51. The week ahead, as we look forward to September baseball (!!) by the end of the week:

    . MIL/CHC (Tuesday, TBS)
    . PHI/MIL (Saturday, FOX regional)
    . MIN/TEX (Saturday, FOX regional)
. NYY/HOU (Sunday, ESPN) - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez, David Cone, Buster Olney (confirmed)

    - NOTE: A shortened national television schedule this week, due to FS1 having no MLB scheduled.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why doesn't FS1 have any games this week?

      Delete
    2. @Mark T. I was wondering the exact same thing. FS1 originally had PIT/KC scheduled for Monday, but that broadcast was later canceled for obvious reasons. Perhaps FS1 is busy with college football. I looked at their program guide, and they have reruns of college football early in the week (notably, Michigan/Ohio State). So maybe FOX wanted to give FS1 a little bit of break from MLB, because they several September windows scheduled for the station.

      Delete
    3. Does FOX have off next week for the same reasons?

      Delete
    4. @Mark T. Actually Mark, FOX has a college football quadrupleheader next Saturday (Sept. 9) w/: Nebraska-Colorado at 12 p.m. ET, Iowa-Iowa State at 3:30 p.m. ET, Oregon-Texas Tech at 7 p.m. ET and Stanford-USC at 10:30 p.m. ET. FOX has a legitimate excuse for not airing baseball next Saturday on the main channel (although FS1 will be airing Mariners-Rays at 4 p.m. ET).

      Delete
    5. I see. They'll probably have to dig deep to find announcers for whichever games are on 9/30.

      Delete
  52. Wonder if anyone who calls NFL games will be calling MLB games Saturday?

    ReplyDelete
  53. The week ahead in terms of MLB national TV broadcasts, as we are now officially into the postseason push:

. BAL/LAA (Monday, FS1) - Alex Faust, Tom Verducci (confirmed)
    . SF/CHC (Tuesday, TBS)
    . SEA/TB (Saturday, FS1)
. COL/SF (Sunday, ESPN) - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez, David Cone, Buster Olney (confirmed)

Once again, a light MLB national television schedule this week due to FOX airing CFB all day Saturday, thus preventing from any MLB games at all.

  54. Happy Monday! Attached is this week's national broadcast schedule in MLB. Hard to believe that October playoff baseball is almost here:

    . NYY/BOS (Tuesday, TBS)
    . NYY/BOS (Thursday, FOX regional)
    . TB/BAL (Thursday, FOX regional)
. CHC/ARI (Sunday, ESPN) - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez, David Cone, Buster Olney (confirmed)

Once more, another light week of limited national games. FOX is airing a CFB tripleheader (Noon ET, 4 PM ET & 8 PM ET) this Saturday, so that's why FOX is airing MLB on Thursday night. Plus, FS1 is booked with CFB (Noon ET, 3:30 PM ET, 7 PM ET & 10:3 PM ET) on Saturday. No FS1 baseball this week. However, they will be back next week with MIN-CIN on Monday & NYM-MIA on Wednesday.

A situation worth mentioning (inconsequential to many) -- in Philadelphia, to the MIN-PHI TNF game airing on WTXF/Fox 29, MLB is unfortunately moving to a another channel.

  55. Tamir, do you have predictions for who's calling Thursday's games? Will Davis and Amin be busy preparing for the NFL Sunday?

    1. Never mind. Amin and AJ Pierzynski are calling NYY-BOS while Davis and Smoltz (and possibly Rosenthal) are calling TB-BAL.

    2. @Mark T. I'm sorry that I did not provide you with the predictions. Please forgive me. To answer your question, Davis and Amin are available to call Thursday MLB games (when needed) because they don't need to be at their respective NFL game site until Friday/Saturday, freeing them up to call baseball or other sports during the early week/mid-week period.

    3. I forgive you. That makes sense. Didn't they do the same thing last year?

    4. Rosenthal is indeed calling the Orioles - Ray's game.

    5. @Mark T. Yes, Davis and Amin called Thursday night September games last season. For instance, here's the listing (from 506 Archive) from September 15, 2022.

      Thursday, September 15
      Athletics-Astros, FOX 7:20 p.m. - Adam Amin, AJ Pierzynski
Pirates-Mets, FOX 7:20 p.m. - Joe Davis, John Smoltz, Ken Rosenthal

    6. Why the A's and Pirates? They were horrible last year.

    7. @Mark T. Mark, it is a case of a bad team playing a good team. It happens. Also, September games should be reserved for teams in the playoff hunt (not one team already out of the playoff chase).

  56. The Yankees-Red Sox game on Fox will be the second game of a double header.

    1. @Mark T. Rain has definitely been an issue in this Yankees/Red Sox series. Second time this week that a rainout caused a doubleheader to take place the following day.

    . NYM/MIA (Wednesday, FS1)
    . BAL/CLE (Thursday, FOX regional)
    . NYM/PHI (Thursday, FOX regional)
. SF/LAD (Sunday, ESPN/ESPN2) - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez, David Cone, Buster Olney (ESPN) (confirmed); Michael Kay, Alex Rodriguez ("KayRod Cast", ESPN2) (confirmed)

  58. Ken Rosenthal did indeed call the Rays-Orioles game.

  59. Due to TNF, the New York and San Francisco FOX affiliates will move MLB to an alternative channel or preempt baseball altogether.

  60. Ken Rosenthal is calling mets phillies

  61. Ken Rosenthal is calling the Mets-Phillies game.

  62. Having the Mariners play on FOX and most of the announcers doing CFB or NFL would be a golden opportunity to have Aaron Goldsmith on the call.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Good call Mark, it will be Aaron Goldsmith, John Smoltz, & Ken Rosenthal doing Rangers vs Mariners on Saturday, while Wayne Randazzo & A.J Pierzynski will do Red Sox vs. Orioles.

    1. I didn't realize Randazzo still did FOX games. I knew he did FS1.

    2. @Mark T. Yeah, Wayne Randazzo has called FOX games for the past few seasons now, primarily in September when other announcers are preoccupied with the NFL and collge football

    3. @Tamir Moore OK. I thought he left when he began doing Apple Tv games.
