Bolstered by noteworthy games, top-tier QBs, and Super Bowl contenders, ESPN will have the largest portfolio of NFL games in its 47-year company history during the 2026 NFL season, a landmark year that will wrap up with Super Bowl LXI, the network’s first-ever presentation of a Super Bowl telecast. Combined with the NFL Network lineup and the preexisting Monday Night Football schedule, the company will present 29 NFL games during the 57th year of Monday Night Football (and the 21st season of MNF on ESPN).
26 regular-season games will be broadcast by the ESPN family of networks in 2026, including 17 Monday Night Football games, a Week 18 Saturday Doubleheader (ESPN/ABC), and the seven-game NFL Network package. Of the 17 MNF presentations, 10 of them will be simulcast on ABC, including seven during the first nine weeks of the regular season. The additional seven MNF games will be available only on ESPN.
For the fourth straight year, ESPN will showcase a Wild Card playoff game and a Divisional Round matchup on both ESPN and ABC. ESPN’s lineup of games is delivered during ESPN’s year-long promotion of “The Year of the Super Bowl”, finishing up with the live broadcast of Super Bowl LXI from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, February 14, 2027, across ESPN and ABC.
ESPN’s Monday Night Football schedule features every 2025 NFL division winner and playoff teams, resulting in exciting showdowns with legendary franchises and star power. Highlights include:
- Early-season historic rivals: A must-see Cowboys vs. Eagles NFC East matchup in Week 7 after Broncos-Chiefs during Monday Night Football’s opening weekend.
- MVP quarterbacks in must-see matchups: Beginning in Week 1, the last four NFL MVP’s (Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Matthew Stafford) will appear on Monday Night Football on five separate occasions during the first 10 weeks, with Giants-Rams (Week 2), Bills-Rams (Week 5), Bills-Vikings (Week 9) & Chargers-Ravens (Week 10).
- Super Bowl Champions: The Seattle Seahawks will host two signature Monday Night Football clashes this season against NFC contenders — the Chicago Bears (Week 8) and the Dallas Cowboys (Week 13).
- Recent AFC Champions: Patriots vs. Chiefs in Week 15 as the last four AFC champions get together at Arrowhead Stadium, featuring an exciting Drake Maye vs. Patrick Mahomes QB duel.
- Finishing the Season Strong: Giants-Lions (Week 16) precedes Monday Night Football’s regular-season finale, Texans-Packers, from Green Bay’s Lambeau Field in Week 17.
- Top Super Bowl Contenders: In addition to multiple games featuring the Bills, Rams, Chiefs, Eagles, and Seahawks, Monday Night Football will have each of the top 10 Super Bowl favorites, including the 49ers (vs. Commanders, Week 6). Joe Buck (play-by-play), Troy Aikman (analyst), Lisa Salters (reporter) & Laura Rutledge (reporter) return for their second full season as the lead announce team for Monday Night Football. Buck and Aikman start their 25th NFL season as broadcast partners, extending their record as the longest tenured NFL broadcast duo ever. Salters kicks off her 15th season as an MNF sideline reporter, continuing her run as the longest tenured sideline reporter in the show’s 56-year history. Rutledge continues her groundbreaking coverage of the NFL and college football.
Peyton and Eli Manning Come Back for Sixth Season:
Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli is back for Season 6, with a 12-game slate beginning with Broncos vs. Chiefs in Week 1. The brothers will be part of ESPN’s Super Bowl LXI offering, marking their 13th game of the season. The remaining schedule of games will be announced before the start of the regular season in September.
ESPN will televise one preseason game — Raiders vs. Texans — Thursday, August 20 at 8:00 PM ET (7:00 PM CT local).
Super Bowl LXI
ESPN’s 2026-27 NFL lineup is taking place during the company’s year-long “Year of the Super Bowl” initiative, a 12-month, multi-platform celebration of America’s biggest sporting event, which ESPN will broadcast for the very first time. Super Bowl LXI will be simulcast on both ESPN and ABC.
