FOX Sports continues their coverage of the 2024 Major League Baseball ⚾ season with a doubleheader on Saturday, June 8, with national coverage of the London game between the Phillies and the Mets in the afternoon (1:00 PM ET) followed by traditional Saturday night "Baseball Night in America" regional coverage later on that evening (7:30 PM ET).
As previously mentioned, FOX will have a special Saturday afternoon broadcast this weekend, as Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies take on Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets from London Stadium in London as the teams play in the 2024 London Series. The 2024 London Series features the Phillies and the Mets playing two games at London Stadium over the course of two days (with Sunday morning's game being shown nationally on ESPN at 10:00 AM ET). The Phillies (as of Thursday, June 6) are tied with the New York Yankees for the league's best record at 44-19. The Phillies recently swept out the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers in a three-game series. The Mets are fresh off a three-game sweep of their division rivals, the Washington Nationals.
Multi-sport commentator Adam Amin will have the play-by-play microphone for FOX's London Series broadcast, joined by a pair of World Series champions -- 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski and 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright. Reporter Tom Verducci handles field reporting duties throughout the broadcast.
Then, later that night, FOX will have the traditional "Baseball Night in America" primetime window, starting at 7:30 PM ET. Most of the country will see a blockbuster matchup as Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers take on Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees as two of the league's most prominent brands square off in the Bronx, with FOX's lead crew of Joe Davis, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal on the call.
Other viewers across the country (less than 10%, as LAD/NYY is essentially a national broadcast due to the markets and star power) will see Tyler Freeman and the Cleveland Guardians take on Tim Anderson and the Miami Marlins. Jason Benetti and Eric Karros will provide commentary from Miami.

The Dodgers-Yankees game will be seen by about 90% of the country.
ReplyDeleteNot much respect for the Guardians, might have been a good idea to just put the Guardians at Marlins game on FS1.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Especially going up against a much-anticipated game in Dodgers-Yankees, you would hope that FOX would find a better game, or better yet, make Dodgers-Yankees a national audience game.
