As we approach the holiday of Halloween coming up on Monday, that means another season of college basketball is almost here. And the great folks at CBS Sports have just dropped their schedule for the forthcoming college basketball soon. CBS is set to return for their 42nd season covering college basketball action in some capacity. CBS will begin their 2022-23 CBB slate in early December. More details regarding CBS' college basketball plans can be found below by reading below.

CBS plans to start their college basketball schedule on the afternoon of Saturday, December 3 as Oklahoma plays No. 16 Villanova at 12:30 PM (ET) in a very important early-season matchup.

A few weeks later, on Saturday, December 17, the network is scheduled to air a tripleheader with a focus on five CBB teams ranked in the top 20. The tripleheader starts off at 1:00 PM (ET) as No. 2 Gonzaga battles No. 20 Alabama. This Gonzaga-Alabama game serves as the predecessor for the annual CBS Sports Classic doubleheader later that day. The ninth annual CBS Sports Classic doubleheader will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City, home of the NBA's New York Knicks. The first game of the doubleheader takes place at 3:00 PM (ET) as No. 1 North Carolina will do battle against Ohio State. Then, at 5:30 PM (ET) the CBS Sports Classic doubleheader continues as No. 8 UCLA meets No. 4 Kentucky.

Some of the top teams in the nation will make up a significant portion of CBS' broadcast schedule for the 2022-23 CBB season. In fact, 35 appearances by teams inside of the Top 25, with 21 of these schools primed to make appearances on CBS this year. In fact, nine of the top 10 teams in the nation have at least one CBS appearance lined up, including: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Gonzaga, No. 3 Houston, No. 4 Kentucky, No. 5 Kansas, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 Creighton & No. 10 Arkansas.

The Kentucky Wildcats, the No. 4 ranked team, will appear on the CBS television network a whopping five times during the regular season schedule.
