Following its inaugural season in 2021-22, Turner Sports returns to provide NHL coverage with the NHL on TNT for the 2022-23 NHL season. TNT marks their second season covering the NHL. The network has a 62-game regular season offering for hockey fans to enjoy.

Some notable things to take away from TNT's schedule this year includes the Colorado Avalanche kicking off their season at home with a banner raising plus hosting the Colorado Blackhawks on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 9:30 p.m. (ET), the 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins from Boston's Fenway Park on Monday, Jan. 2 at 2:00 p.m. (ET), regular doubleheaders on Wednesdays & the coverage of Sunday NHL games later in the season.

The 2022-23 season will wrap up with Turner's first-ever presentation of the Stanley Cup Final. In addition to the Stanley Cup Final, Turner Sports will provide national coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs including the First Round, Second Round, & the Conference Finals.

TNT will showcase the league's brightest stars during the course of the regular season. The New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, for example, have seven TNT appearances each. The Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Colorado Avalanche will each appear on TNT six times.

TNT's opening week coverage features top-tier NHL storylines, starting with the great Alex Ovechkin - the No. 3 scorer in NHL history - and the Washington Capitals welcoming in Patrice Bergeron and the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. (ET). Then later, TNT will play host to Colorado's 2022 Stanley Cup champion banner raising ceremony before the Avalanche take the ice to host the visiting Colorado Blackhawks at 9:30 p.m. (ET).

Wednesday nights are the main focus for TNT, as the network is slated to air games on 27 Wednesdays throughout the 2022-23 NHL season. The network has two doubleheaders on special nights during the month of November. Up first, a special Election Night doubleheader on Tuesday, November 8, starting with the Oilers vs. Lightning (7:30 p.m. ET) game followed by Predators vs. Kraken (10:00 p.m. ET).

Later in November, TNT has a special Black Friday night doubleheader on Friday, November 25. The first game sees a longtime Pennsylvania hockey rivalry renewed as the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Philadelphia Flyers at 5:30 p.m. (ET). The second game features the Tampa Bay Lightning on home ice vs. the St. Louis Blues at 8:00 p.m. (ET).

Beginning in March, TNT will add four weeks of Sunday afternoon NHL coverage to its lineup. These Sunday games will be shown during the months of March and April.

TNT has the rights to the Winter Classic for the second straight year. The 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2 at 2:00 p.m. (ET) as the Pittsburgh Penguins battle the Boston Bruins from Fenway Park in Boston (home to MLB's Red Sox).
