The NHL on ABC returns for its second season on the air during the 2022-23 season following a near two decade hiatus of televising NHL games.
The network has a 15-game regular season schedule this season, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 11: Lightning vs. Stars (1 p.m. ET) & Capitals vs. Bruins (3:30 p.m. ET). ABC's coverage, however, will begin a week earlier on Saturday, Feb. 4, with coverage of the 2023 NHL All-Star Game from FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
ABC is set to air their first-ever Stadium Series game telecast on Saturday, Feb. 18 when the Washington Capitals play the Carolina Hurricanes at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina, the home field of the North Carolina State (NC State) Wolfpack. The Capitals vs. Hurricanes game will start at 8:00 p.m. (ET).
The network will show 1 tripleheader (Apr. 8), 4 single games (Feb. 18, Mar. 18, Mar. 25, Apr. 1), and 4 doubleheaders (Feb. 11, Feb. 25, Mar. 4 and Mar. 11) during the regular season. All of ABC's regular season telecasts will air on Saturday afternoons/evenings.
