  • CBS' #1 NFL crew of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst), & Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter) returns for the 6th straight season
  • Week #1 Announcer Assignments unveiled for all "NFL on CBS" crews
With the 2022 NFL season set to begin in less than a month, CBS Sports officially revealed Tuesday their NFL commentator roster. This includes the crews set to call the games each week, and the studio team to provide pregame, halftime, and postgame (when applicable) coverage for the games each week.

Veteran play-by-play commentator Jim Nantz, analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and longtime CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson will again compromise CBS's #1 NFL team. Nantz, Romo, and Wolfson will be on the call for CBS' marquee NFL game each week, plus CBS' Thanksgiving (Bills/Lions) and Christmas NFL coverage (Broncos/Rams). Their assignments also include the AFC postseason and the AFC Championship Game. Nantz, Romo, & Wolfson enter their sixth season together as CBS' top NFL crew.

As a showcase to the consistency and firmness of CBS' NFL announcing roster, all broadcast teams for the "NFL on CBS" will reprise their roles for the 2022 NFL season. Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst), & Evan Washburn (reporter) form CBS' #2 NFL crew for the third straight season.

Former NFL referee Gene Steratore serves the official rules expert for the NFL on CBS.
