CBS Sports Prepares for Biggest Regular Season in 2021 with over 100 Regular Season Games

Expanded NFL Schedule Provides CBS with additional Sunday afternoon games.

CBS Sports, home of the "NFL on CBS" and the package to air American Football Conference (AFC) games, announced their 2021 NFL season schedule. CBS will enter their 62nd season televising NFL games. With the NFL expanding its season to 17 games, beginning with this upcoming 2021 season, CBS will benefit from this new change.

The "NFL on CBS" is home to some great up-and-coming quarterbacks, including Lamar Jackson (Baltimore), Justin Herbert (L.A. Chargers), Josh Allen (Buffalo), Baker Mayfield (Cleveland), and Tua Tagovailoa (Miami), to name a few. Rookie quarterbacks Trevor Lawerence (Jacksonville) and Josh Wilson (N.Y. Jets) began their NFL journeys.

This season, CBS Sports will have 10 national NFL doubleheaders at 4:25 PM, ET / 1:25 PM, PT. In addition to this, CBS will have a London game with Dolphins vs. Jaguars in Week 6, televise the Raiders vs. Cowboys Thanksgiving game in Week 12, and feature four postseason contests this year [AFC Wild Card, 2 AFC Divisional games & AFC Championship].

CBS Sports is scheduled to begin their NFL regular-season coverage on Sunday, September 12th.

With the NFL's decision to expand the season to 17 games, CBS Sports will have 10 doubleheader windows this season for the fans to enjoy. The 4:25 PM (ET) slot is the NFL's most-rated game/timeslot each week. Key doubleheader games include Browns at Chiefs (Week 1, September 12th), Cowboys at Chargers (Week 2, September 19th), Steelers at Packers (Week 4, October 3rd), Cowboys at Patriots (Week 6, October 17th), Seahawks at Packers (Week 10, November 14th), Ravens at Steelers (Week 13, December 5th), Bills at Buccaneers (Week 14, December 12th) and Steelers at Chiefs (Week 16, December 26th).

The "NFL on CBS" annual Thanksgiving game in 2021 takes place live at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This year's game features the Las Vegas Raiders taking on the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, November 25th at 4:30 PM (ET). In addition, the "NFL on CBS" presents early-morning action from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. That game, scheduled for Sunday, October 17th, is a Week 6 clash between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars at 9:30 AM (ET).

CBS's 2021 schedule features 12 Patriots games, 11 Raiders games, 10 Chiefs and Steelers games, 9 Bills, Ravens, and Browns games. Plus, team appearances from the NFC: 4 Bears and Eagles games, 3 Buccaneers, 49ers, Cowboys, Seahawks, and Washington Football Team games.

CBS' regular-season coverage over 18 weeks is followed by four postseason games. AFC Wild Card game on either Saturday, January 15th, or Sunday, January 16th. 2 AFC Divisional games over the January 22-23 weekend. And Finally, the AFC Championship game is on Sunday, January 30th.

Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst), and Tracy Wolfson (reporter) return to lead CBS' announcing teams.

In addition, CBS will also televise a preseason game on Sunday, August 29th at 4:00 PM (ET) as the Dolphins visit the Bengals in Cincinnati.
