League Division Series Game 1 Previews — Saturday:
🔘 ► (AL #6) Chicago White Sox vs. (AL #2) Cleveland Guardians — ALDS, Game #1 — Saturday, 1:00 PM ET on TBS:
The Division Series begins in Cleveland, as Chase Meidroth and the Chicago White Sox (No. 6 seed) visit seven-time MLB All-Star José Ramírez and the Cleveland Guardians (No. 2 seed) in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 PM ET on TBS. This is the first postseason meeting between these two teams.
Alex Faust (play-by-play) provides commentary for the White Sox-Guardians series, alongside 1986 World Series champion Ron Darling (analyst) and sideline reporting from Lauren Jbara (field reporter).
The White Sox clipped the Guardians in the season series, 7-6. Six of these games were determined by one single run, and a couple of them required extra innings to decide a winner. Cleveland picked up four wins in nail-biters. Typically, home runs are something good in postseason play. The White Sox hit 211 home runs (5th in MLB), while Cleveland smashed 162 (27th in MLB). Cleveland acquired Jo Adell and Nathaniel Lowe at the trade deadline this year. Cleveland has an edge on the mound, with Parker Messick as the Game 1 starter and Gavin Williams getting the Game 2 nod.
🔘 ► (NL #3) Atlanta Braves vs. (NL #2) Los Angeles Dodgers — NLDS, Game #1 — Saturday, 4:00 PM ET (1:00 PM PT) on Fox & Fox One:
The National League Division Series begins on Saturday afternoon (October 3), when Ozzie Albies and the NL East champion Atlanta Braves (No. 3 seed) take on Mookie Betts and the defending two-time World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (No. 2 seed) at 4:00 PM ET on Fox and Fox One. These teams meet for the first time since the 2021 National League Championship Series.
Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst), & Ken Rosenthal (field reporter) will hold announcing duties for the Braves-Dodgers series.
🔘 ► (AL #4) New York Yankees vs. (AL #1) Tampa Bay Rays — ALDS, Game #1 — Saturday, 6:30 PM ET on TBS:
In primetime, Ben Rice and the New York Yankees (No. 4 seed) battle Jorge Mateo, Junior Caminero and the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays (No. 1 seed) in Game 1 of the best-of-five Division Series on Saturday, October 3 at 6:30 PM ET on TBS. This is the second playoff meeting between the Yankees and Rays, with Tampa Bay toppling New York during the 2020 COVID-19 run towards the World Series (American League Division Series).
Brian Anderson (play-by-play), Jeff Francoeur (analyst) & Lauren Shehadi (reporter) will have the call throughout TBS’s coverage of the Yankees-Rays ALDS.
Tampa Bay won seven of 13 regular-season meetings between the clubs in 2026. Tampa Bay took the first four meetings before the Yankees showed up down the stretch. The Yankees took four of the final five head-to-head showdowns. The starting pitcher role is a key for this AL East matchup. The Rays have Freddy Peralta, Nick Martinez, and Drew Rasmussen. The Yankees have Cam Schlittler, Max Fried, Gerrit Cole, and Carlos Rodón. With the Yankees likely to start the 24-year-old star in Game 2, can Tampa Bay take Game 1 behind Rasmussen and make a statement in this ALDS?
🔘 ► (NL #4) San Diego Padres vs. (NL #1) Milwaukee Brewers — NLDS, Game #1 — Saturday, 8:30 PM ET (7:30 PM CT) on FS1 & Fox One:
To wrap up the Division Series Saturday lineup, Fernando Tatís Jr., Manny Machado and the high-octane San Diego Padres (No. 4 seed) get ready to match up with 2021 World Series champion, three-time MLB All-Star William Contreras and the top-seeded Milwaukee Brewers (No. 1 seed) on Saturday, October 3 at 8:30 PM ET/7:30 PM CT on FS1 & Fox One. For the first time ever, San Diego and Milwaukee collide in a postseason setting with a National League Championship Series berth on the line.
Adam Amin (play-by-play), World Series champion Adam Wainwright (analyst), fellow World Series champion AJ Pierzynski (analyst), & Emmy Award winner Tom Verducci (field reporter) will be on the microphone throughout the Padres-Brewers NLCS.
The Padres went 4-2 against the Brewers during the regular season. Milwaukee took the series vs. San Diego in May up in Milwaukee, followed by a San Diego sweep over Milwaukee at Petco Park in August. Pitching and scoring first will be the primary highlights ahead of this series. The Brewers have the electric NL Cy Young candidate Jacob Misiorowski, followed by a great No. 2 in Logan Henderson. The Brewers possess a wonderful bullpen, matched by the Padres’ depth and versatility, led by one of the best closers in the game, Mason Miller.
Games will turn late early, and whichever team scores first in these Division Series games will likely go a long way in deciding a game winner (and eventually, a series winner). Led by two-time Gold Glove winner Fernando Tatis Jr., San Diego found their offensive mojo in the last month and swept past the Cubs in the Wild Card Series. Milwaukee’s lineup is solid, too. The team that SCORES first consistently might find themselves in the National League Championship Series.
Following the openers of the Division Series, live coverage of the Division Series continues every day through at least Wednesday, October 7. If additional games are needed beyond three, they will be played between Thursday, October 8 and Saturday, October 10.
