The 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO marches ahead with the beginning of the Second Round on Monday, May 5. This follows an exciting weekend to wrap up First Round game action, with two Game 7's on the docket - Avalanche vs. Stars (Saturday) & Blues vs. Jets (Sunday). Let's talk about each one of the four second round series across the National Hockey League.
We drop the puck 🏒 on the Second Round on Monday, May 5 with a primetime Eastern Conference matchup on ESPN. At 8:00 p.m. (ET), Sam Reinhart and the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers continue their title defense against William Nylander and the Toronto Maple Leafs during Game 1 of their best-of-seven Semifinal series. 🎙 Mike Monaco (play-by-play), Ray Ferraro (analyst), & Emily Kaplan (reporter) take the ESPN call from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
Then, on Tuesday, May 6, ESPN brings you live coverage of two more Second Round, Game 1 contests. The Tuesday night doubleheader starts at 7:00 p.m. (ET) as Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes clash with Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
