2021 NBA Playoffs: First Round Television Schedule and Announcers

Welcome to the start of the 2021 NBA Playoffs! 

Did you watch the State Farm Play-in Tournament these last few days!? They were fun and exciting. Warriors vs. Lakers on Wednesday was a good one, with the Lakers winning it 103-100 to claim the West's #7 seed (and a first-round series with Phoenix). Lakers forward LeBron James hit a game-winning shot for the Lake Show with less than a minute to ago. Then on Friday, the Grizzlies squared off with the Warriors at Chase Center in San Francisco. Grizzlies PG Ja Morant erupted to the tune of 35 POINTS as the Grizzlies beat the Warriors 117-112 in overtime, ending Golden State's season.

Congrats to the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers & Memphis Grizzlies for locking down the final four spots in this year's NBA Playoffs.

And now, all 16 teams have now determined for this year's NBA Playoffs.

The 2021 NBA Playoffs will begin with first round action with the 16 teams that qualified.

The playoffs are set to begin on Saturday, May 22 with a quadrpleheader on ESPN and ABC. First, at 2 PM ET on ESPN, Jimmy Butler and the (6) Heat visit Giannis Antetokoumnpo and the (3) Bucks for Game 1. Miami vs. Milwaukee is a 2020 NBA Playoffs re-match. Then, at 4:30 PM ET on ESPN, Luka Doncic and the (5) Mavericks visit Staples Center for a meeting with Kawhi Leonard and the (4) Clippers in Game 1 of their best-of-7 playoff series. Dallas vs. LA Clippers is also a 2020 NBA Playoffs re-match. In primetime, at 8 PM ET on ABC, Game 1 pits Kevin Durant and the (2) Brooklyn Nets vs. young star Jayson Tatum and the (7) Boston Celtics. The Saturday opening day slate of playoff games ends with a Northwest Division Game 1 clash at 10:30 PM ET on ESPN. Damian Lillard, Carmelo Anthony and the Portland Trail Blazers lock up with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

The playoffs continues on Sunday, May 23, with 4 games across the networks of ABC and TNT. ABC will have the Game 1 showcase in Phoenix between LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers and Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns. TNT will have a tripleheader on Sunday. Starting with Russell Westbrook's Wizards vs. Joel Embiid's 76ers in Game 1 at 1 PM ET. Then, Trae Young and the Hawks take on RJ Barrett and the Knicks in Game 1 at 7 PM ET. The opening weekend ends at 9:30 PM ET with Grizzlies vs. Jazz.

You can catch the first round of the NBA Playoffs on the networks of ABC, ESPN, TNT and NBA TV. In addition, regional sports networks can also air games featuring their local teams in the first round, sans any/all televised games on the ABC broadcast network.
