2019 - 2020 NBA on ABC Schedule

* NBA on ABC Returns for the 18th Straight Season.

* NBA on ABC to Broadcast the Most Marquee Games of the Season including: Christmas (Wednesday, December 25), NBA Saturday Primetime & NBA Sunday Showcase.

* At least five (5) appearances by the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors & Philadelphia 76ers

* NBA Christmas Day slate on Wednesday, Dec. 25 is highlighted by the Los Angeles Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers game (8 p.m. ET), preceded by the two-time playoff re-match between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors (5 p.m. ET).

* NBA Saturday Primetime to debut on Saturday, January 18th with 2 games: Clippers @ Pelicans during the day (3:30 p.m. ET) and the actual real "first" game, Lakers @ Rockets, during primetime (8:30 p.m. ET).

* LeBron vs. Steph: The Lakers will visit the Warriors on Saturday, February 8. This match takes place just one weekend prior to All-Star Week in Chicago.

* Last Saturday Night Game: On Saturday, April 11, the Saturday night slate ends with a elite and intriguing match from the Western Conference: Warriors vs. Clippers.

* NBA Sunday Showcase to debut on Super Bowl Sunday (Sunday, February 2) as Zion's Pelicans take on Harden's Rockets at a special start time of 2 p.m. ET; remaining 5 Sunday games will start at 3:30 p.m. ET.

ABC will return to provide NBA coverage this season for the 18th straight year. ABC will be the home of 18 (technically, 19, if you count LAC/LAL on Christmas), regular season NBA broadcasts during the forthcoming season.

ABC's 2019-20 coverage will start on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25) with three exciting matchups. The action tips at 2:30 p.m. (ET) as the reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokoumpo and the Milwaukee Bucks clash with Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. Then at 5 p.m. (ET), Jordan Poole and the Golden State Warriors play host to Russell Westbrook and the Houston Rockets. The slate wraps up at 8 p.m. (ET) (notice the half-hour "gap"), when the aforementioned Clippers-Lakers matchup is set to occur.

Then, the schedule picks up again on Saturday, January 18th. The NBA Saturday Primetime series returns for the fifth straight season with a robust slate filled and chocked up with the league's best teams and most spellbinding matchups. Nine "Saturday Primetime" games are scheduled throughout the year. That day, Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans host Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers at 3:30 p.m. (ET). That night, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers visit James Harden and the Houston Rockets at 8:30 p.m. (ET). "The Jump", hosted by Rachel Nichols, will air on ABC at 8 p.m. (ET), leading into each Saturday Primetime contest. The Jump will be on-site at each Saturday Primetime game.

On Sunday, February 2nd, the NBA Sunday Showcase series returns once more this year. The first matchup is New Orleans at Houston at 2 p.m., with NBA Countdown airing at 1:30 p.m. (ET). Following this special match, the Sunday series reverts back to its normal 3:30 p.m. (ET) airing, with NBA Countdown airing beforehand starting at 3 p.m. (ET).

    A holiday tradition continues on Wednesday, December 25, when ESPN and ABC combine to exclusively televise all five NBA Christmas Day games amidst 15 consecutive hours of event and studio coverage. This year marks the 18th straight season of ESPN’s NBA Christmas coverage and it will once again be led by an unparalleled lineup of play-by-play voices, analysts and reporters across platforms. All games and shows will also stream via the ESPN App.

    ESPN’s Christmas Day NBA game coverage will include a production open starring Grammy Award-winning musician John Legend, who also stars in ESPN’s Christmas marketing campaign “Christmasketball.” To learn more, visit ESPN Press Room.

    Pregame platforms
    NBA Countdown, hosted by Maria Taylor, will tip off ABC’s Christmas coverage at 2 p.m. with a 30-minute show prior to the Celtics vs. Raptors game. This marks the first NBA Christmas for the new NBA Countdown team. Analysts Jalen Rose and Jay Williams, along with ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, will join Taylor on the set. Taylor’s sit-down interview with Giannis Antetokounmpo will air in full on NBA Countdown and throughout ESPN’s Christmas coverage. In the interview, Antetokounmpo discusses how he would guard himself, among other topics.

    Later in the day, The Jump – hosted by Rachel Nichols – will debut its ABC on-site pregame show from 7:30-8 p.m. at Staples Center leading into the Lakers vs. Clippers broadcast. NBA Champions Paul Pierce and Scottie Pippen will join Nichols courtside for the one-hour show. Nichols’ sit-down interview with Clippers star Paul George will air throughout ESPN’s Christmas coverage, including on The Jump. In the interview, George discusses playing on Christmas in his hometown for the first time.

    Hoop Streams – ESPN’s digital NBA pregame show – will make its Christmas debut at Staples Center from 7:30-8 p.m. preceding the Lakers vs. Clippers broadcast. The show will emanate from inside the Staples Center, featuring host Cassidy Hubbarth and analysts Kendrick Perkins and Amin Elhassan. Hoop Streams is available on the ESPN App and ESPN’s Twitter and YouTube platforms.

    A special Christmas edition of ESPN’s First Take will air from 10-12 p.m. Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Molly Qerim will preview the full Christmas Day slate.

    ESPN Radio will also broadcast an NBA Christmas Day doubleheader. Sean Kelley and analyst P.J. Carlesimo will describe the Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors game, while Marc Kestecher and analyst Jon Barry will call the Los Angeles Lakers vs. LA Clippers broadcast. Every NBA Christmas Day game will also be televised by ESPN Deportes.
