Welcome to the Week 15 NFL on CBS: Field Pass! For this week's version of the Field Pass, we will discuss the NFL on CBS schedule during Week 15 on Sunday, December 15. Plus, you can find this week's NFL on CBS broadcast schedule, commentator lineup, and distribution splits!

With just four weeks remaining in the regular season, CBS Sports is set for a must-see Week 15 doubleheader on Sunday, December 15 with one matchup drawing plenty of interest nationally (of course, that is the Bills vs. Lions matchup from Detroit). From 12:00 PM ET to 7:30 PM ET, CBS has seven and a half hours of football-related programming planned for your enjoyment this Sunday.

As we look at CBS's schedule for Week 15, they have six games on this doubleheader Sunday. In the early afternoon timeslot (1:00 PM ET), you have the following matchups: Chiefs at Browns, Ravens at Giants and Dolphins at Texans. Later in the afternoon, for the national doubleheader window at 4:25 PM ET, the game lineup is as follows: Bills at Lions, Colts at Broncos and Patriots at Cardinals.

As an additional bonus for this Sunday, CBS is sending the "The NFL Today" pregame show on the road for the second time this season as the guys will be in Detroit for the highly anticipated Bills vs. Lions clash.

Furthermore, both CBS AND Fox have doubleheaders this week! (In case you haven't figured that out yet.)

In summary, this Sunday is a very important one as the journey towards Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans continues. With that introduction out of the way, let's get started in the detailed analysis and breakdowns for this week's NFL on CBS regionalization article.

| Pregame: "The NFL Today" live from Detroit, Michigan - 12:00 PM ET:
Start your football Sunday on CBS with a special edition of "The NFL Today presented by RAM Trucks" at 12:00 PM ET. This week, host James Brown, analyst and Hall of Famer Bill Cowher, analyst and three-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt, analyst and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, analyst and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson and insider Jonathan Jones report live from Detroit ahead of a game with paramount importance as the Bills battle the Lions.

On this week's "The NFL Today" show, Lions head Dan Campbell joins the program from Ford Field to discuss his NFC-leading Lions and their forthcoming contest with Bills. Also, Tyreek Hill is scheduled to have a pregame chat with the studio crew ahead of Dolphins-Texans. Lead NFL on CBS play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz stops by to give his thoughts ahead of the Bills at Lions matchup.

| NFL on CBS Doubleheader: Game #1 - 1:00 PM ET (Chiefs at Browns, Ravens at Giants, Dolphins at Texans):
At 1:00 PM ET, CBS is set to head to the stadiums for the first game of the national doubleheader. CBS will regionalize three games during this window, including: Chiefs at Browns (Primary; 67% of Markets), Ravens at Giants (20% of Markets) & Dolphins at Texans (13% of Markets). I will preview each of these games in greater detail.

Patrick Mahomes and the two-time defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) continue their quest for a three-peat against 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns (3-10) on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Kansas City has won their fair share of nail-batters in 2024, including last week's 19-17 win over the Chargers on "Sunday Night Football". In addition, last week's victory over the Chargers gives the Chiefs their 9th consecutive AFC West title. The Chiefs are seeking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. 🎙 Sunday's Chiefs-Browns broadcast team on CBS consists of play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle, analyst Charles Davis and sideline reporter Evan Washburn.

Lamar Jackson and the well-rested Baltimore Ravens (8-5) play against Malik Nabers and the New York Giants (2-11) on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Ravens took Week 14 off after a 24-19 loss to the Eagles in Week 13. The Giants have had a miserable 2024 campaign, as New York has dropped nine straight contests coming into this one (their last win came on October 6 at the Seahawks), including a tough 14-11 loss to the Saints at home last Sunday. This is a important game for Kyle Hamilton and the Ravens, as they try to keep pace with the Steelers (10-3) for first place in the AFC North & at least keep the #5 seed in the AFC playoff picture (if all else fails). Ravens QB Lamar Jackson fell to 23-2 versus NFC teams in the game vs. the Eagles two weeks ago (the only other NFC loss prior to Philadelphia was against the Giants in 2022). 🎙 Sunday's Ravens-Giants game will be televised on CBS, as Andrew Catalon calls the play-by-play action alongside analyst and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty and analyst and three-time Pro Bowl running back Tiki Barber. Reporter AJ Ross handles sideline reporting duties.

Two AFC playoff contenders share the NRG Stadium field as Calais Campbell and the Miami Dolphins (6-7) line up against Derek Stingley Jr. and the AFC South leading Houston Texans (8-5) on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Dolphins have rebounded following a horrible 2-6 start, as the team has won four of their previous five games, including last week's 32-26 overtime win over the Jets at Hard Rock Stadium. The Texans, following a downcast 23-20 win over the Jaguars two weeks ago prior to the team's bye (with Azeez Al-Shaair's nasty hit on Trevor Lawrence being the obvious storyline), return to the field for the first time in a while. The Dolphins try to get to the .500 mark and keep their postseason hopes alive, as the team really can't afford any more slip-ups the rest of the way. Danielle Hunter and the Texans can wrap up the AFC South with a win and a Colts loss this weekend. Spanning the previous three weeks, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa became the first player in NFL history with at least 40 pass attempts, 300 passing yards and no interceptions in three straight outings. If Houston can get a AFC South title this week, Texans HC DeMeco Ryans would become the sixth head coach to win two straight division championships, joining Jim Caldwell, Jim Harbaugh, Matt LaFleur, Sean McVay and Mike Tomlin. 🎙 The legendary play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan calls Sunday's Dolphins-Texans encounter on CBS alongside game analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Green and reporter Melanie Collins.

NFL on CBS Doubleheader: Game #2 - 4:25 PM ET (Bills at Lions, Patriots at Cardinals, Colts at Broncos):
The Week 15 Sunday slate on CBS continues at 4:25 PM ET with the national doubleheader window. Just like the early window, CBS will have three games to regionally distribute throughout the country. Of course, the "lead" game is Taron Johnson and the Buffalo Bills (10-3) visiting David Montgomery and the Detroit Lions (12-1) in a meeting of two top teams (Primary; 86% of Markets). The other late afternoon games on CBS include: Colts at Broncos (7% of Markets) and Patriots at Cardinals (7% of Markets). We will look ahead to these Sunday 4:25 PM ET matchups on CBS and give you an idea of what to pay attention to while you enjoy the game.

Dion Dawkins and the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills (10-3) face a tough test this week against Jameson Williams and the NFC-leading Detroit Lions (12-1) on Sunday, December 15 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. The Bills' seven-game winning streak came to a screeching halt last week with a heartbreaking 44-42 loss to the Rams out in Inglewood, Calif. The Lions continue to roll, as the team has put together 11 straight wins for the first time in the team's franchise history after a tight victory over the Packers 34-31 in Week 14 on "Thursday Night Football". Despite Buffalo already clinching the division, this game holds high importance for them, as they continue to look up at Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs for the top seed in the conference (Kansas City is up by two games; Buffalo holds head-to-head tiebreaker). The Lions look to stay at the top of the NFC, as Detroit continues to make their case for being the best team in football. The Bills can become the fifth team all-time to score 30 points in eight straight games during the course of a single season, joining the 2000 Rams, 2007 Patriots, 2010 Patriots & 2013 Broncos. The Lions top the NFL with 32.1 points per game this season. 🎙 Sunday's Bills-Lions showdown will be nationally distributed on the CBS airwaves, with the lead team of Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (reporter) on the broadcast call.

Stakes are high in this late-season AFC battle when Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts (6-7) compete against Courtland Sutton and the Denver Broncos (8-5) on Sunday, December 15 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. The Colts are coming off an important 25-24 win over the Patriots on December 1 before Indianapolis took a week off to prepare themselves for the upcoming stretch run. The Broncos are currently riding a three-game winning streak, with a 41-32 win over the Browns back in Week 13 serving as the most recent victory during this period. A win for Indianapolis is basically a must, as they trail Denver by two games for the final AFC Wild Card spot. A win for Denver this weekend will allow Denver to clinch a winning record and remain in the top seven in the AFC. Colts QB Anthony Richardson has six touchdowns during his previous two games on the road (three passing, three rushing) as the Colts became the first team since the 2022 Jets to win consecutive road games with a game-winning touchdown in the final minute of regulation. Broncos LB Nik Bonitto ranks tied for second in the NFL with a career high 11 sacks this season and has a tackle for loss in each of his past 10 games. 🎙 Spero Dedes (play-by-play), Adam Archuleta (analyst) and Aditi Kinkhabwala (reporter) will provide commentary for Sunday's Patriots-Cardinals game on CBS.

Kyle Dugger and the dismal New England Patriots (3-10) try to place a monkey wrench into Kelvin Beachum Jr. and the Arizona Cardinals' (6-7) potential plans on Sunday, December 15 at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. The Cardinals are reeling somewhat, as the Cardinals on an untimely three-game losing skid enter Week 15's home game vs. New England. The Cardinals NEED to get back on track this week, especially considering how good the Rams & Seahawks are. In other words, Arizona MUST win this game against an inferior Patriots team to keep their NFC West division hopes alive and look to stay firmly in the NFC Wild Card hunt. 🎙 Sunday's Patriots-Cardinals game will be nationally televised on CBS, as play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy joins analyst and former NFL kicker Jay Feely, analyst and former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker, and sideline reporter Amanda Balionis for the game broadcast.
