Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving πŸ¦ƒ! I can't believe we are now at the start of yet another holiday season. I certainly want to wish you and your family a safe and delightful Thanksgiving and joyous holiday season. Meanwhile, welcome into this special Week 13 edition of the NFL on CBS: Field Pass. This week sees a double feature, as Thursday's Thanksgiving game (Bears-Lions) and Sunday's doubleheader will be included.

CBS will have a grand total of six games this week when you factor in Thanksgiving Day and Sunday afternoon. On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28), two NFC North rivals meet up on Turkey Day as David Montgomery and the red-hot Detroit Lions (10-1) host rookie wideout Rome Odunze and the slumping Chicago Bears (4-7) at 12:30 PM ET on CBS.

Then, on Sunday, December 1, CBS continues Week 13 coverage with a doubleheader featuring five games. In the early window (1:00 PM ET), we have Steelers at Bengals, Chargers at Falcons, Colts at Patriots and Titans at Commanders. Later on, the entire nation gets a NFC vs. AFC matchup on CBS as Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles (9-2) oppose reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at 4:25 PM ET.

For this week's edition of the NFL on CBS: Field Pass, we will have all of the pertinent information that you need to watch and consume the game during this Thanksgiving week (Thursday & Sunday), including announcer assignments, distribution, and television schedule. I hope you enjoy this week's presentation and let's proceed onwards!

We begin our NFL on CBS tour this weekend on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 with a full-national game matchup (Chicago vs. Detroit) surrounding the third annual "John Madden Thanksgiving" celebration.

Beginning at 12:00 PM ET on CBS, CBS previews the Thanksgiving Day game (as part of the "John Madden Thanksgiving" celebration) with a special Thanksgiving Day edition of "The NFL Today". Host James Brown leads the program, joined on-set by a renowned panel of football experts - analyst and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson, analyst and Hall of Famer Bill Cowher & analyst and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan. Jonathan Jones completes the on-air roster as the "insider", providing the scoop on timely NFL league news.

CBS televises the first of three "John Madden Thanksgiving" games at 12:30 PM ET as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the struggling Chicago Bears (4-7) try to slow down the unremitting force, better known as Jahmyr Gibbs and the Detroit Lions (10-1). The bottom is falling out in the Windy City, as the Bears have fallen short in five straight games following a surprising 4-2 start, including last Sunday's crushing 30-27 OT loss to the Vikings. In the Motor City, things are pretty damn good, as the Lions have won NINE (!!) straight games (obviously, the longest winning streak in the league) to find themselves at 10-1. Last week, the Lions defeated the Colts 24-6 in Indianapolis. Obviously, the Bears HAVE to win on Thanksgiving Day to keep their fading Wild Card hopes alive. As for the Lions, Jared Goff and his team have an opportunity to clinch a postseason berth with a win and some help from some other teams across the league this week. The Bears play on Thanksgiving for the 38th time (20-15-2) and the Lions appear on Thanksgiving for the 85th time (37-45-2) dating back to 1934. The Bears have won three straight Thanksgiving games over the Lions (2018-19, 2021). Believe it or not, the Lions haven't won on Thanksgiving since 2016. πŸŽ™ CBS will televise the Bears vs. Lions clash on Thanksgiving to a national audience, as Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Tony Romo (analyst) & Tracy Wolfson (reporter) call a Thanksgiving game for the eighth consecutive year together.

Following the conclusion of the Bears vs. Lions Thanksgiving Day contest in Detroit, CBS Sports plans to wrap up the Thanksgiving action with a special postgame show at 3:30 PM ET with James Brown, Nate Burleson, Matt Ryan, Bill Cowher & Jonathan Jones.

The Week 13 Thanksgiving weekend CBS slate continues with a second helping of football on Sunday, December 1, featuring a doubleheader (involving Eagles vs. Ravens as the centerpiece).

Sunday's Week 13 must-see doubleheader starts off in the studio with the traditional airing of "The NFL Today" at 12:00 PM ET on CBS. For the second time this week, James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill CowherMatt Ryan, Jonathan Jones appear on a pregame show to preview what's happening in just a few minutes.

CBS will make the move from the studio to the NFL game venues for the first game of the national doubleheader at 1:00 PM ET. Four games are regionalized in this window, including Steelers at Bengals (66% of Markets), Chargers at Falcons (17% of Markets), Titans at Commanders (10% of Markets) & Colts at Patriots (7% of Markets). We will talk about each one of these four early CBS matchups in further detail.

DeShon Elliott and his Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) try to remain in the first place in the AFC North against Tee Higgins and a desperate Cincinnati Bengals (4-7), trying to keep their postseason dreams alive, on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Steelers suffered a major bump in the road with a stunning 24-19 loss to the Browns in a snow globe last week on "Thursday Night Football". Before the Browns game, the Steelers had won five straight games. The Steelers check in as the #3 seed in the AFC & the AFC North leader entering Week 13. The Bengals are falling off a cliff, as the team dropped three of four before the team's Week 12 bye week (including a 34-27 loss to the Chargers in Week 11 on "Sunday Night Football"). And now, the Bengals are running out of time to salvage their season. The Bengals can't afford to lose any more games if they have a shot to make the playoffs this season. Steelers QB Russell Wilson completed 21 of 28 attempts for 270 yards & TD vs. 0 INT's with season best 116.7 rating last week vs. the Browns. Steelers LB Patrick Queen aims for his 5th in a row with 7+ tackles. Bengals QB Joe Burrow passed for 356 yards & 3 TD's vs. 0 INT's with 98.4 rating in Week 11, 5th game this season with 3+ TD passes & 4th game with 300+ pass yards, both tied-most in the NFL. Bengals S Geno Stone led team with season-high 9 tackles in Week 11 vs. the Chargers. πŸŽ™ Play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle, analyst Charles Davis and reporter Evan Washburn provide commentary from Cincinnati's Paycor Stadium.

Khalil Mack and the Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) head to Atlanta to duel with Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons (6-5) in a game that means a lot for both sides on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Chargers had been on a roll recently (winning four straight games), before last week's 30-23 loss to the Ravens on "Monday Night Football". Despite the Ravens loss, the Chargers are in a pretty good spot in Week 13 as they have one of three AFC Wild Card spots. The Falcons are well rested entering Sunday's home game vs. the Chargers. The Falcons last played on Sunday, November 17, getting crushed 38-6 by the Denver Broncos (Week #11). The Falcons are currently the #4 seed in the NFC, seeing that they currently lead the NFC South. Since entering the league in 2020, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has 19,627 passing yards and can surpass Jameis Winston (19,737 passing yards) for the second most passing yards by a player in his first five seasons in NFL history. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson ranks fifth in the NFL with 1,142 scrimmage yards this season and his seven games with at least 100 scrimmage yards, tied for the second-most in the league this season. Chargers RB Gus Edwards rushed for his first touchdown of the season last week vs. the Ravens. Falcons S Jessie Bates III had a pass deflection, forced fumble and led the team with 10 tackles in Week 11 vs. the Broncos. πŸŽ™ This week's Chargers at Falcons broadcast team on CBS features play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan, analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Green and sideline reporter Melanie Collins.

Calvin Ridley and the Tennessee Titans (3-8) look to place a monkey wrench into Bobby Wagner and the Washington Commanders (7-5) plans for postseason play as the two sides meet in interconference play on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. For Tennessee, this season has been a complete disaster as the team starts Week 13 with a poor 3-8 record and is basically eliminated from any postseason hopes. The Titans, did shock the Texans last week, winning 32-27 down in Houston. The Commanders are trying to stop the bleeding, as the club is on a three-game losing streak, including last week's 34-26 loss to the Cowboys. Despite Washington's recent turbulence, the Commanders still have a postseason spot right now, as they own the #7 seed in the NFC (the final playoff spot). Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (rookie) has 2,613 passing yards and 556 rushing yards this season and become the fourth rookie quarterback in NFL history with at least 2,5000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards, joining Robert Griffin III (2012), Kyler Murray (2019) and Cam Newton (2011). Last week, Titans RB Tony Pollard rushed for 119 yards and scored one touchdown vs. the Texans. In Week 12, Titans K Nick Folk made three field goals vs. the Texans. Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. has 70+ scrimmage yards in 3 of his past 4 games. πŸŽ™ Play-by-play commentator Andrew Catalon, analyst and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty, analyst and three-time Pro Bowl running back Tiki Barber and reporter AJ Ross are set for Sunday's Titans at Commanders CBS presentation.

Longtime AFC foes renew their rivalry as Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts (5-7) take a trip to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough to confront Kyle Dugger and the New England Patriots (3-9) on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. This is a big game for Indianapolis, as they trail Denver by two games for the final AFC Wild Card spot & two games behind Houston for the AFC South lead. This is a classic case of the team needing to do their job and beat up on the inferior opponent. Last week, the Colts suffered a 24-6 loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions. As for New England, Jerod Mayo's squad has had an awful season and they are facing potential elimination from the postseason a loss combined with some other things this weekend. The Patriots lost 34-15 to the Dolphins last Sunday. Colts LB Zaire Franklin compiled 13 tackles last week vs. the Lions. Since 2023, the Colts have scored at least 20 points in 21 games, which ranks tied for fifth in the NFL. Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez scored his first touchdown when he returned a fumble 63 yards for a touchdown last week vs. the Dolphins. Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson 55 yards this week against the Colts to move past former Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount into 10th place on New England's all-time list. πŸŽ™ Sunday's Colts-Patriots game will be nationally televised on CBS, as play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes joins analyst and former NFL safety Adam Archuleta and reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala for the game broadcast.

At 4:25 PM ET, the entire country (100% of the Markets) will see an exciting national doubleheader game on CBS featuring two Super Bowl contenders as Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles (9-2) collide with Kyle Hamilton and the Baltimore Ravens (8-4). The Eagles are red-hot, winners of seven straight contests entering Week 13. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley put on a dazzling display last week vs. the Rams in Inglewood, as the Eagles running back scored TWO 70-yard tuddies and put up 302 scrimmage yards (including 255 rushing yards) in a 37-20 win. The Eagles have the #2 seed in the NFC & first place in the NFC East (a comfortable lead over the second place Commanders). The Ravens rebounded from a tough division loss to the Steelers in Week 11, by vanquishing the Chargers 30-23 last week on "Monday Night Football". Ravens QB and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson accounted for three touchdowns in Week 12 vs. the Chargers. The Ravens are currently the #5 seed in the AFC, just a half-game behind the Steelers for the AFC North division lead. The Eagles rank second in the NFL with 2,127 rushing yards (in 11 games, 193.4 per game) while the Ravens rank first in the NFL with 2,162 rushing yards (in 12 games, 180.2 per game). With Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (1,649 scrimmage yards, leads the league) and Ravens RB Derrick Henry (1,421 scrimmage yards, second-most in the NFL) set to meet in Week 13, the MVP conservation will certainly be shaped by what happens in this matchup between two of the top runners in football. πŸŽ™ Sunday's Eagles vs. Ravens high-stakes matchup will be seen on CBS, with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz, analyst and former NFL quarterback Tony Romo and reporter Tracy Wolfson following the action on the field.
