. Cincinnati @ Cleveland -- Kevin Harlan & Rich Gannon
. Tennessee @ Houston -- Andrew Catalon & James Lofton

CBS LATE

No CBS produces the 1st half of the season for TNF while NBC has the 2nd half like last year so Nantz & Romo will have those games also will do Sunday doubleheaders & when CBS does not have doubleheaders their off
DeleteWell, here's the list of which networks will be producing the NFLN only games this year.
DeleteNBC
. Week 2: Houston vs. Cincinnati

. Week 15: Chicago vs. Detroit (Sat.)
CBS
. Week 3: Baltimore vs. Jacksonville, from London (will air online on Verizon90 + CBS locally in Baltimore & Jacksonville)

ReplyDeleteNFL on CBS - Fresh stab at first 4 weeks (And this time, Rene, I am taking your advice!!)
ReplyDeleteWeek 1
1:00 PM ET
. OAK-TEN: Nantz, Romo
. PIT-CLE: Gumbel, Green
. NYJ-BUF: Harlan, Gannon
. BAL-CIN: Catalon, Lofton
. JAX-HOU: Dedes, Archeulta
4:05 PM ET
. IND-LAR: Eagle, Fouts
Week 2 -- Nantz/Romo are doing TNF this week (HOU-CIN). So no Nantz/Romo this week because CBS has the singleheader slate.
1:00 PM ET
. NE-NO: Eagle, Fouts
. BUF-CAR: Catalon, Lofton
. TEN-JAX: Dedes, Archeulta
. CLE-BAL: 7th crew (McCarthy, ??)
4:05 PM ET
. NYJ-OAK: Gumbel, Green
. MIA-LAC: Harlan, Gannon
Week 3 -- Nantz/Romo are doing TNF this week (LAR-SF). Nantz/Romo will do this Sunday this week because CBS has the doubleheader & Catalon/Lofton in Jacksonville for BAL-JAX.
1:00 PM ET
. HOU-NE: Eagle, Fouts
. PIT-CHI: Gumbel, Green
. DEN-BUF: Dedes, Archeulta
. MIA-NYJ: 7th crew (McCarthy, ??)
. CLE-IND: 8th crew (Blackburn, ??)
4:25 PM ET
. CIN-GB: Nantz, Romo
. KC-LAC: Harlan, Gannon
Week 4 -- Nantz/Romo are doing TNF this week (CHI-GB). Nantz/Romo will do this Sunday this week because CBS the doubleheader.
1:00 PM ET
. PIT-BAL: Eagle, Fouts
. BUF-ATL: Gumbel, Green
. TEN-HOU: Harlan, Gannon
. CIN-CLE: Catalon, Lofton
. JAX-NYJ: Dedes, Archeulta
4:25 PM ET
. OAK-DEN: Nantz, Romo
NFL on CBS confirmations (from the 506 Forums)
ReplyDelete. Week 1 OAK vs. TEN - Nantz, Romo & Wolfson
. Week 1 NYJ vs. BUF - Harlan & Gannon
. Week 2 NE vs. NO - Nantz, Romo & Wolfson
. Week 2 BUF vs. CAR - Harlan & Gannon
. Week 3 BAL vs. JAX (London) - Catalon & Lofton
. Week 3 CIN vs. GB - Nantz, Romo & Wolfson
. Week 4 JAX vs. NYJ - Catalon & Lofton
So, it's turns out that NBC will be indeed producing at least Weeks 2 & 3 of Thursday Night Football. Nantz-Romo pick up NE-NO on singleheader weekend (Week 2).
I got it now now with Catalon now teaming with James Lofton does that mean Steve Beuerlein & Steve Tasker will team with Spero Dedes
DeleteActually both Steves could be split up cuz I read Chris Simms wont be with CBS cuz he's now with NBC Sports & will be doing PFT so for Week 3 Carter Blackburn will either team with Adam Archuleta or one of the Steves

What a shocker that Beth Mowins from ESPN is calling a game for CBS
ReplyDeleteIt's really is!
DeleteThese are messed up pairings. Why on earth is Andrew Catalan ahead of Spero Dedes? That should only happen if Spero Dedes dies or quits. Why would the network demote him? I also do not like the demotion to Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein. If they are getting demoted to the 7th spot after being around so long, why is the network even keeping them around? Also, I hate, hate, HATE Jay Feely calling a game. A kicker should not be calling a game, end of story. Well, excuse we Mr. Arg, Howard Cosell, Dennis Miller, and Tony Kornheiser never played and still called games, so you mean to say Feely can not? Well sir, those three were used in Monday Night Football, which emphasizes entertainment to a much much higher degree than the NFL on CBS does now. Plus, they were used in three-man booths with competent analysts who actually played the game. Basically, Jay Feely watched football his entire career, which makes him just as qualified to call games as us because that is what we do (I know, I know, he is more qualified to call a game than you or me, but come on, really, a kicker calling a game?). I hope Jay Feely retires or gets fired for being terrible before he calls the game, but I am not holding my breath. I am really curious about Beth Mowins. To be honest, I do not find women to have voices suitable for calling football games. I think the masculine voice contains more power, suitable for football. Still, I will give her a chance. I can not say she does not belong if I have never really heard a game from her. I think it will be interesting how that goes.

I think you'll see Chris Fischer and Scott Kaplan in select games this year too. Kaplan usually works West coast games like the Raiders Chargers or Rams. Fischer works Dolphins Jaguars or Ravens games.
ReplyDeleteChris Smith that's true. We'll see if that holds up.
DeleteMaybe you'll see Stacey Dales as a sideline reporter this year.
DeleteI predicted right that Chris Fischer was going to be a sideline reporter this year too.

DeleteI'm confused, I just saw that Kevin Harlan isn't on cbs this season. The cbs article showed that he was part of the team this year paired with Rich Gannon again.
ReplyDelete@Chris Smith. Kevin Harlan is with CBS this year, for all accounts. Harlan currently works for CBS, Westwood One & Turner Sports.
DeleteThank don't Wikipedia screwed up
DeleteWHO WILL DO KC VS SEA AND LAC VS LAR IN PRESEASON
ReplyDelete. Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks: Spero Dedes, Dan Fouts and Tracy Wolfson - 8/25 8:00 PM (CBS)
Delete. Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams: Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts and Evan Washburn - 8/26 8:00 PM (CBS)
NOTE: Nantz & Romo were scheduled to do KC-SEA tomorrow night. However, Tony's wife gave birth this week. Nantz was re-assigned to golf. And Dedes and Fouts were called on to replace Nantz & Romo.
Is Melanie Colins going to be the 4th full time sideline reporter or just for select games?
ReplyDelete@Chris Smith - select games I believe. Collins also works CBS' CFB coverage as well.
DeleteNFL is on of the main sports in North America, particularly in the UNITED STATES, but also canada, a lot of men and women are enjoying the game every day. There's no way Catalon covers the Jags 4 weeks straight Week 10 he'll probably call Browns vs Lions & Week 12 Browns vs Bengals as usual
DeleteHarlan and Gannon will maybe do Jax vs ARI in Week 12
DeleteNantz&Romo get BUF-KC which I highly think will be flexed to 4:25? I think it’s a strong possibility at this point barring a collapse from Buffalo
DeleteWeek 13 Hard to see what game Eagle fouts will work maybe NE VS BUF or DEN VS MIA
ReplyDeleteEagle & Fouts may call KC vs NYJ instead with how bad Denver & Miami looked last week & Nantz with Romo will likely call NE vs Buf since obviously everyone wants to see the Patriots
DeleteAlso the Jets despite a losing record they've hung in there with key opponents only to come up short in close games
DeleteConfirmed Nantz and Romo will call Browns vs lions week 9
ReplyDeleteYou mean Bills vs. Jets on Thursday night and Chiefs vs. Cowboys on Sunday. Browns/Lions, which is in Week 10, won't be called by Nantz and Romo. Cleveland is STILL WINLESS!
DeleteI have a question, how do you get the announcer assignments for each week? Just curious
ReplyDeleteHi Chris. The announcer assignments come from the Capsules release from the NFL each week, Twitter, and some newspapers among others.
DeleteCool. Keep this up. I like reading who will call each game and what game or games I will get in my area.

ReplyDeleteI think Tom McCarthy, Steve Tasker & Steve Beuerlein get Browns/Bears at Soldier Field in front of a LOT of empty seats disguised as fans Christmas Eve. Spero Dedes & Adam Archuleta get Jaguars/49ers, while Kevin Harlan & Rich Gannon get Chargers/Jets. Finally, Andrew Catalon & James Lofton get Broncos/Redskins. Educated guesses on my part, and I'd like to think playoff spots might also figure into the equation there.

Per Andrew Catalon on Twitter, they have Titans/49ers week 15.
ReplyDeleteAs what I predicted
DeleteWhy isn't Spero Dedes & Adam Archuleta calling a Week 15 game
ReplyDeleteI think CBS Sports might be using Spero Dedes on one of the two NCAA Basketball games on their air Saturday. CBS has Syracuse/Georgetown & Cincinnati/UCLA this Saturday in college hoops. Dedes might have one of those assignments. I also think they have 1 less NFL game with Greg Gumbel, Trent Green & Jamie Erdahl working Saturday night's Chargers/Chiefs' game in Kansas City on NFL Network. That might also explain why Beth Mowins & Jay Feely got the Dolphins/Bills' game in Buffalo Sunday. Educated guesses...Nothing more, nothing less.
ReplyDeleteThat's somewhat surprising despite they could also use Brad Nessler for CBB Coverage along with the dreaded Carter Blackburn
DeleteThat's true. Let's also not forget that Verne Lundquist is still in the picture...For NCAA Basketball, I mean. Lundquist may have retired from the "SEC on CBS", but he's still a very capable basketball voice, as well as Brad Nessler. Jim Nantz may be the lead voice of the "NCAA on CBS" in addition to the PGA & "NFL on CBS", but he doesn't call a LOT of college hoops until tournament time in March.
DeleteLundquist usually doesn't start calling college basketball games until the end of February leading into the NCAA Tournament

Buf vs Mia McCarthy/Beuerlein/Tasker
Hou vs Ind Mowins/Feely
Oak vs LAC Nantz/Romo
KC vs Den Harlan/Gannon
Catalon & Lofton will be calling Jaguars vs 49ers next week
ReplyDeleteIt'll be the third straight 49ers' game for Andrew Catalon & James Lofton, not to mention the "NFL on CBS" for that matter. Those 2 worked the games at Soldier Field 2 weeks ago as the Niners beat the Bears & they won again at the end Sunday over the Titans. I thought I also read something that Spero Dedes & Adam Archuleta have been assigned the Broncos/Redskins' game this Sunday. That probably means the trio of Tom McCarthy & the 2 Steves, Beuerlein & Tasker, or the duo of Beth Mowins & onetime ex-Bears' kicker Jay Feely get the Browns/Bears' game this Sunday. Process of elimination?
ReplyDeleteYes McCarthy & the awful Steve's are calling the disaster Browns vs Bears
DeleteIt's not often that we get a game called by Tom McCarthy locally in Chicago. I'm definitely familiar with his national work calling NFL & NCAA Basketball Tournament games on Westwood One along with NCAAB games that air on CBS Sports Network. I know he's also the voice of the Philadelphia Phillies. I think McCarthy will do a nice job, and it'll be a homecoming of sorts for Steve Tasker. He was quite the special teams standout at Northwestern. I'm sure McCarthy will mention that along with Steve Beuerlein playing his college ball at Notre Dame. It's a bad football game, but they'll try to make the most of it.
DeleteMcCarthy is a pretty good play by play for football along with his Phillies duties also he's an okay basketball announcer but Steve Beuerlein is an awful announcer & has been for a while I like Tasker more than Beuerlein so you'll enjoy McCarthy but not so much Beuerlein
DeleteConsidering how lousy the Browns & Bears are going into this game Sunday, a great deal of the conversation Tom & the 2 Steves will discuss will regard the 2 starting QBs in rookies Mitch Trubisky & DeShone Kizer. When also considering that Steve Beuerlein is one of the former quarterbacks turned "NFL on CBS" analysts on CBS Sports Network's "NFL Monday QB" with host Adam Schein Mondays during football season, that's probably the only reason to watch. Which of the 2 rookie QBs has more long term upside.
ReplyDeleteFor me I say Trubisky cuz he's a better accurate thrower than Kiser even though most of Trubisky's throws are short passes & he takes care of the football something Kiser hasn't done all season long but Trubisky will get better once next season comes around
