On Saturday, May 9, Fox Sports will air a nationally televised MLB game on FS1.

Brice Matthews and the Houston Astros (14-22) take on Elly De La Cruz and the Cincinnati Reds (20-15) on Saturday, May 9, at 4:00 PM ET on FS1. Connor Onion (play-by-play) and Tom Verducci (analyst) will provide commentary for Astros-Reds.

Right now, the Astros are fourth in the American League West. The Astros were crushed by the Dodgers, 8-3, in the opener of a three-game series between the clubs that played in the 2017 World Series on Monday evening in Houston. Astros DH Yordan Alvarez possesses a big bat, hitting 12 home runs so far on the season (3rd in the American League). Cincinnati, on the other hand, is currently on a losing streak with Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Cubs marking the team’s fourth consecutive defeat. The Reds trail the Cubs by three games for first place in the National League Central. Cincinnati’s offensive attack in 2026 includes rising star shortstop Elly De La Cruz, who has scored 27 runs on his own accord entering this week’s play.

Baseball Night in America: Cardinals vs. Padres or Mets vs. Diamondbacks — Saturday, 7:00 PM ET (Fox):

Baseball Night in America, Fox Sports’ marquee weekly MLB primetime series, continues this Saturday, May 9, with regional coverage of two National League matchups, beginning at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT on Fox. Check your local listings or the bottom of this article for further details about which game you will be getting on your local Fox station.

This week’s BNIA game selections include the Cardinals at the Padres from PETCO Park in San Diego, California, and the Mets at the Diamondbacks from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

Three-time MLB All-Star Fernando Tatís Jr. and the San Diego Padres, who hold a record of 20-14 and currently sit in second place in the National League West, will host Victor Scott II and the St. Louis Cardinals, boasting a record of 21-14, this Saturday, May 9, at 7:15 PM ET (4:15 PM PT) on the Fox broadcast network. Fox Sports’ and current primary Padres television announcer Don Orsillo (play-by-play) and Eric Karros (analyst) will call Cardinals-Padres from PETCO Park in San Diego, California.

The Cardinals have played good baseball over their last 10 games, going 7-3 in that stretch (including a series sweep over the Pirates and a series win over the Dodgers). St. Louis began this week on a winning note, defeating the Brewers 6-3 on Monday night at Busch Stadium, thanks to DH Ivan Herrera’s 3-RBI night. This Padres series is part of a seven-game road trip the Cardinals will be on, as they will visit the Athletics for three games after the San Diego series concludes. San Diego is struggling to find consistency following an underwhelming 2-4 homestand (with series losses against the Cubs and White Sox). The Padres dropped a close game to the Giants, 3-2, on Monday night, despite home runs from Ramón Laureano and Jackson Merrill. The Padres are only 1.5 GB behind the Dodgers for the top spot in the National League West.

Marcus Semien and the New York Mets (13-22) travel to the desert for this Saturday night game against Corbin Carroll and the Arizona Diamondbacks (16-17) on Saturday, May 9, at 7:15 PM ET (4:15 PM MST) on the Fox broadcast network. Fox Sports’ Adam Amin (play-by-play), 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski (analyst), & Emmy-Award winning reporter Ken Rosenthal (field reporter) will call Mets-Diamondbacks from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

It has been a miserable start for the Mets in 2026, as the team is still trying to get its act together following a pitiful 12-game losing streak earlier this season. A team that was expected to contend for the National League East title now finds itself in the basement of the division. However, the Mets did start the week right, with a 4-2 win over the Rockies in Denver on Monday afternoon, thanks to Carson Benge’s third home run and Mark Vientos driving in two of the four runs. Home is where the heart is. For Gabriel Moreno and the slumping Diamondbacks (losers of four straight), maybe this week’s six-game homestand can allow them to cook at their home ballpark (where Arizona has gone 9-6 so far). The Diamondbacks were off Monday, after getting swept by the Cubs at Wrigley Field over the weekend. They will welcome the Pirates for a three-game series from Tuesday through Thursday, before the Mets series this weekend.

Clubs in contention over in the National League square off this weekend as Freddie Freeman and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers tussle with rookie standout JJ Wetherholt and the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, May 2, at 7:15 PM ET (6:15 PM CT) on Fox, highlighting this week’s Major League Baseball coverage on the Fox Sports family of networks. Reds vs. Pirates — Saturday at 4:00 PM ET on FS1:

FS1 steps up to the plate with a Saturday afternoon presentation of National League Central division opponents, as Dane Myers and the NL Central-leading Cincinnati Reds head on the road for a divisional matchup against rising rookie Konnor Griffin and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, May 2, at 4:00 PM ET on FS1. Fox Sports’ Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Tom Verducci (analyst) will call Reds-Pirates.

Previously, the Pirates took two of three in a three-game series against the Reds from March 30-April 1, outscoring Cincinnati 16-8 in those two victories. The Reds lead the NL Central with a 19-10 record. The Pirates, however, are 3.5 GB at 16-14. For the first time in over a decade, both the Reds and Pirates are contenders at the same time. In 2013, the Reds and Pirates both qualified for the playoffs as Wild Card teams and famously met in the Wild Card game (which Pittsburgh went on to win). 

Reds rookie first baseman Sal Stewart is impressing plenty of people during his brief time in the Majors. Entering this week, he has belted nine home runs, driven in 29 runs (which leads the league), and has produced an outstanding .291/.385/.602 slash line.

“Baseball Night in America”: Dodgers vs. Cardinals or Rangers vs. Tigers — Saturday at 7:00 PM ET on Fox:

Prime Time Baseball airs on the Fox broadcast network on Saturday, May 2, at 7:00 PM ET. This week, Fox plans to regionalize two matchups across the country (check your local listings or the bottom of this article for additional information). The game choices for this week’s “Baseball Night in America” include Dodgers vs. Cardinals or Rangers vs. Tigers.

Two-time World Series champion Shohei Ohtani and the two-time reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers participate in National League action against Iván Herrera and the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, May 2, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. Fox Sports’ Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst), & Emmy Award winner Ken Rosenthal (reporter) will call Dodgers-Cardinals from Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Dodgers & Cardinals will be meeting for the first time this season with this three-game series this weekend. Last year, the Cardinals took four of six from the Dodgers, including a series victory in early June at Busch Stadium (the site for this Saturday’s matchup). The two-time defending champion Dodgers face a St. Louis team trying to get back in National League playoff contention. St. Louis has missed the postseason in each of the past three years (their last playoff appearance was back in the 2022 season).

Despite missing their star shortstop Mookie Betts due to an oblique injury, the Dodgers are finding ways to fill the void en route to a tie for the second-best record in Major League Baseball (20-10; alongside NYY also 2010), only behind Ozzie Albies and the Atlanta Braves (21-9). Third baseman Max Muncy leads the Dodgers with nine home runs on the season. Center fielder Andy Pages has knocked in 25 runs so far (team-high).

American League action is on the docket as Brandon Nimmo and the Texas Rangers go up against Spencer Torkelson and the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, May 2, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. Fox Sports’ Adam Amin (play-by-play), 2005 World Series champion AJ Pierzynski (analyst), & 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright (analyst) will call Rangers-Tigers from Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.

The Rangers and Tigers compete against each other for the first time in 2026. Last year, the Rangers won the season series vs. the Tigers, 4-2. And now, the two clubs meet for the first time this year, with both teams in tight divisional races at this juncture of the season. The Tigers are barely holding on to first place in the AL Central, with the Guardians close on their heels. As for the Rangers, they are 1.5 GB behind the Athletics for first place in the American League West.

Can the Tigers finally claim an AL Central division crown? Detroit has not won the AL Central since 2014, despite making the playoffs the past two seasons as a Wild Card team. With an entertaining rookie in Kevin McGonigle, veterans Gleyber Torres and Javier Báez, and a seasoned manager in A.J. Hinch, among others, the Tigers seem primed to finally take the top seat in the American League Central in 2026.

The four-second-round series will kick off over two days, with two games each on Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, with coverage on either NBC/Peacock or Peacock/NBCSN. The Knicks dispatched the Hawks in six games to advance to Round 2, while the 76ers outlasted the Celtics in a hard-fought seven-game first-round series (featuring a 3-1 comeback from Philadelphia in the process). Of course, Brunson and Maxey are the leading actors for their respective clubs. NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Grant Hill (analyst), NBA veteran Robbie Hummel (analyst), and Ashley ShahAhmadi (reporter) call Game 1 of 76ers-Knicks from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Two loaded Western Conference squads off in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals as Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs (2nd Seed) host Jaden McDaniels and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, May 4 at 9:30 PM ET on Peacock and NBCSN. San Antonio eliminated Portland in five games to advance to this round, while Minnesota defeated Denver in a six-game series to reach the semifinals. The Wolves are still without star guard Anthony Edwards (left knee hyperextension/bone bruise) to begin Round 2. If Edwards were able to return during this series, Ant vs. Wemby would be must-see television! The teams meet three times during the regular season, with Minnesota claiming victory in two of them. The Spurs are in the playoffs for the first time since 2019. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, look to go to their third consecutive Western Conference Finals. NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon (play-by-play), three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner Jamal Crawford (analyst) & Jordan Cornette (reporter) call Game 1 of Timberwolves-Spurs from FrostBank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Two Central Division rivals try to take the next step towards reaching the NBA Finals as Evan Mobley and the Cleveland Cavaliers (4th Seed) play Game 1 of their Eastern Conference series against Tobias Harris and the Detroit Pistons (1st Seed) on Tuesday, May 5, at 7:00 PM ET on Peacock and NBCSN. Both teams are obviously very fatigued following a seven-game series. The Pistons became just the 15th team to overcome a 3-1 series deficit with their seven-game series victory over the Magic in the First Round. As for the Cavaliers, they were able to knock out a decent Raptors squad featuring Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett in seven games in Round 1. And now, these teams are just four wins away from the Eastern Conference Finals. The returning team of Noah Eagle, Grant Hill, Robbie Hummel & Ashley ShahAhmadi provides commentary for Game 1 of Cavaliers-Pistons from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

A star-studded Western Conference Semifinals begins on Tuesday, May 5, at 8:30 PM ET on NBC and Peacock as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (5th Seed) go into Oklahoma City to match up with 2024-25 Kia NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (1st Seed) in Game 1 of their highly anticipated duel. During the regular season, the Thunder swept the season series, taking all four meetings from the Lakers. Of course, Oklahoma City continues its drive towards becoming the first repeat champion since the Warriors back in 2018. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 33.0 PTS during the Thunder’s first-round sweep of the Suns. Can he continue to score in bunches against the Lakers in this series? LeBron James, obviously, is still making winning plays and giving 100% effort during his age-41 season. Should be a fantastic series here! NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller (analyst), & Zora Stephenson (reporter) will call Lakers-Thunder Game 1 from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Following Tuesday’s Cavaliers-Pistons and Lakers-Thunder Conference Semifinal series openers, the Conference Semifinal continues with at least one game on every night through Monday, May 11, with ABC, ESPN, NBC/Peacock, Peacock/NBCSN, and Prime Video responsible for carrying second-round broadcasters on over-the-air television, cable, or streaming.

• Prime Video welcomes the WNBA to its sports portfolio with a 31-game schedule this summer.

• Prime will stream weekly doubleheaders on Thursdays (most weeks) and select Saturday games.

Prime Video recently announced its regular-season schedule for the 2026 WNBA season. The schedule features 30 exclusive games, plus the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship and postseason coverage for the first time ever. Prime’s coverage of the historic 30th WNBA season begins with a doubleheader on Thursday, May 14, when the Minnesota Lynx go up against No. 1 draft choice Azzi Fudd and the Dallas Wings at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT. Prime’s opening night continues with the New York Liberty competing against the expansion Portland Fire at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT.

Prime Video’s 2026 coverage will feature WNBA on Prime Pregame, a 30-minute show before every game, live from Amazon Studios in Culver City, California. In between doubleheaders, Prime keeps the studio coverage going with The Crossover. Also, after every game on Prime, stay tuned for WNBA Nightcap, a postgame show featuring highlights, player interviews, and in-depth breakdowns with the studio analysts. The studio features an analyst rotation with plenty of basketball experience and original perspectives, bringing invaluable championship-level insights.

Allie Clifton, who also serves as one of the NBA on Prime’s reporters, will lead Prime’s studio coverage throughout the 2026 season. Joining her in the studio will be three-time WNBA champion and current NBA on Prime analyst Candace Parker, Hall of Famer Cynthia Cooper, and fellow Hall of Famer Swin Cash. Keep in mind that Parker and Cooper will split their time between the studio and calling games throughout the season. To complement analysts Parker, Cooper, and Cash, Prime Video has also added current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Lindsay Harding, 12-year WNBA veteran Ty Young, and five-time WNBA All-Star Teresa Witherspoon to make select in-studio appearances during the 2026 WNBA regular season.

Play-by-play commentators Michael Grady, Lisa Byington, and Mike Watts lend their voices to Prime’s 2026 WNBA coverage. Cooper, Parker, sports broadcasting veteran LaChina Robinson, and current Duke women’s basketball coach Kara Lawson serve as game analysts. Morgan Ragan, JayDee Dyer, Britney Eurton, and Kayla Grey will rotate sideline reporting assignments throughout the season.

Some of the brightest and transcendent players in the sport serve as the backbone for Prime Video’s 2026 WNBA coverage: Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (eight games), Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty (seven games), 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings (six games), Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream (five games), & four-time league MVP A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces (four games).

Four of the eight Fever Prime games occur in the first month or so of the WNBA season. Notable early-season Fever games on Prime include May 28 (at Valkyries), June 4 (vs. Dream), June 11 (vs. Sky), & June 18 (vs. Dream). The first Fever-Dream matchups will be exclusively streamed on Prime.

Prime Video televises the WNBA’s Commissioner Cup Championship, presented by Coinbase, the league’s in-season tournament, on Tuesday, June 30 (7:30 PM ET).

• NBC Sports announces the complete 2026 WNBA regular-season lineup across NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN.

• The WNBA is back on the NBC broadcast network for the first time since 2002 and debuts on Peacock this summer. It features 22 games across NBC Sports’ platforms.

For the first time since 2002, WNBA games return to NBC, with Peacock making its debut as a WNBA broadcaster. • Season Tip-Off: NBC’s coverage of the 2026 WNBA season commences with a Tip-Off doubleheader on Sunday, May 17, airing on NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN. In the first matchup, four-time WNBA MVP and two-time Finals MVP A’ja Wilson, along with the defending champion Las Vegas Aces, will travel to Atlanta to compete against the Atlanta Dream and Angel Reese, who will make her home debut at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, at 1:30 PM ET on NBC and Peacock. • WNBA Debuts on “Sunday Night Basketball”: Sunday Night Basketball debuts for WNBA coverage on Sunday, July 12, with a highly anticipated matchup as Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever battle the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces from MICHELOB ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, NV, at 9:00 PM ET on NBC and Peacock. Prior to Las Vegas winning its 2025 WNBA Championship, these teams met in the semifinal round, where Las Vegas eliminated Indiana in five games (3-2). In the second of two Sunday Night Basketball matchups, the Fever meet the Sky on Sunday, August 23 at 7:00 PM ET on NBC and Peacock.

• New Teams: The 2026 season introduces two new WNBA clubs — the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo — as the league expands to new markets and grows the sport. The Golden State Valkyries appear three times on NBC platforms in 2026, including May 31 (vs. Aces), June 15 (vs. Sparks) & August 17 (at Wings). Portland gets its first NBC appearance on May 25 vs. the Liberty, followed by a late-season contest against the Sparks on August 2. Toronto receives two national windows on Peacock and NBCSN — July 20 (vs. Aces) and August 10 (at Dream).

• NBCUniversal’s 2026 WNBA regular season lineup includes five games each from the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and 2025 WNBA Playoffs semifinalist Indiana Fever. Furthermore, the New York Liberty, Atlanta Dream, and Dallas Wings each appear four times.

Once regular season play ends, NBC Sports platforms will carry WNBA Semifinal games and the 2026 WNBA Finals. NBC and Peacock carry WNBA Finals Games 1 and 4, with Peacock exclusively streaming the remaining games.

Commentators and Production:

NBC will use several commentators for its WNBA coverage during the 2026 season. In the studio, Cheryl Miller and Sue Bird will serve as studio analysts. Maria Taylor and LaChina Robinson team up to fill the studio host gig during the season. LaChina Robinson and Sarah Kustok will call games as analysts during the season. Noah Eagle, Michael Grady, and Zora Stephenson form NBC’s play-by-play announcer rotation for WNBA coverage. Reporters covering the WNBA on NBC Sports’ platforms include Caroline Pineda, Jordan Cornette, and Ashley ShahAhmadi.

Highlights:

• CBS will air 20 games during the 2026 season, with game coverage on Saturdays and Sundays (weekends).

• CBS begins its 2026 WNBA coverage with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 23 — Lynx vs. Sky (1:00 PM ET/12:00 PM CT) & Sparks vs. Aces (8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT).

• Eight games to receive primetime windows on CBS, an expansion of CBS’s commitment to televise WNBA games in primetime.

• A pair of New York Liberty vs. Indiana Fever matchups.

• A day/night doubleheader on Saturday, June 27, beginning with the Phoenix Mercury taking on the expansion club, the Toronto Tempo, at 2:00 PM ET, followed by the Los Angeles Sparks facing off against the Indiana Fever at 8:00 PM ET.

With the historic 30th WNBA season set to begin next month, CBS Sports has announced its 20-game regular-season schedule for 2026. As usual, CBS airs WNBA games on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). CBS Sports has televised WNBA games on the CBS broadcast network every season since 2020, so CBS is entering its 7th season of WNBA coverage.

The 2026 WNBA on CBS schedule begins on Saturday, May 23, as Courtney Williams and the Minnesota Lynx visit Skylar Diggins and the Chicago Sky at 1:00 PM ET. Then, in primetime, Kelsey Plum and the Los Angeles Sparks travel to Las Vegas to face three-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces at 8:00 PM ET. Most games will be preceded by the WNBA Tip-Off Show, a studio show featuring host Jenny Dell, analyst and WNBA Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, and former WNBA standout Renee Montgomery.

Play-by-play commentator Jordan Kent, analyst Isis “Ice” Young, and reporter Tiffany Blackmon form CBS’s lead WNBA commentary team, with additional announcers throughout the season for select games.

Jackie Young and the defending-champion Las Vegas Aces have seven WNBA appearances on CBS this year, while Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have four on CBS in 2026. Two notable Fever matchups are against Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty on June 6 and July 18.

The Dallas Wings, who have two recent WNBA Draft No. 1 overall picks on their squad in Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers, are scheduled for three WNBA on CBS appearances.

Highlights:

• ESPN’s 30-game schedule highlights the WNBA’s historic 30th season.

• A new programming block, called “Women’s Sports Sundays,” debuts on Sunday, June 21, with Liberty vs. Sparks, featuring two of the original WNBA franchises.

• Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and the Indiana Fever will appear 10 times across ESPN platforms, followed by the Liberty with eight, the Aces with five, and the Lynx and Sky getting four games each.

• Once again, WNBA regular-season coverage is shared between ABC and ESPN. ESPN has 17 games, while ABC has 13 matchups on broadcast television.

• Following regular-season action, Disney platforms will televise two first-round series and one semifinal series.

ESPN and ABC, in coordination with the WNBA, announced the 2026 WNBA regular season schedule. ESPN, which has televised WNBA games annually since the league’s inception in 1997, celebrates its 30th season of WNBA coverage in 2026. The 30-game schedule starts on Saturday, May 9, with increased coverage across ABC and ESPN. The league’s best squads, top-tier superstars, and rising stars will be featured throughout the WNBA season.

The 2026 season is the first year of an 11-year media rights agreement between ESPN, The Walt Disney Company, and the WNBA that runs through the 2036 season, fortifying ESPN’s role as the league’s primary home for regular-season games, playoffs, and the Finals.

During the 2026 season, ESPN and ABC team up to present 30 WNBA regular-season games, including the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game from Chicago. Coverage starts with regular-season games presented by Google Pixel and continues through the 2026 WNBA Playoffs presented by Google Pixel, which features up to 11 games.

Star-Studded Opening Weekend Action:

ESPN’s regular season coverage begins on Saturday, May 9, with a WNBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax doubleheader on ABC and Disney+.

The action tips off at 1:00 PM ET when Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings visit Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This matchup has some of the WNBA’s most notable young stars. The last four WNBA No. 1 overall picks are set to be featured in this game — Aliyah Boston (2023), Caitlin Clark (2024), Paige Bueckers (2025) & Azzi Fudd (2026). Clark plays in a game for the first time since July 15 of last season, while the Wings start a new era as Fudd, Bueckers, and four-time WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale share the basketball floor for the first time. The Fever are led by Clark, Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, the WNBA’s No. 3-ranked scorer last year. 

The doubleheader resumes at 3:30 PM ET as Kahleah Copper and the Phoenix Mercury battle four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before the game starts, the Aces will hold a ring ceremony in honor of the team’s 2025 WNBA championship. Las Vegas starts its pursuit of winning four WNBA championships in five years. As it stands, Las Vegas is just the second team in WNBA history to win three championships in four seasons (joining the Houston Comets, who won four consecutive titles from 1997-2000). The Aces feature four-time WNBA All-Star Jackie Young, Wilson, and six-time WNBA All-Star Chelsea Gray. The Mercury is led by six-time WNBA All-Star Alyssa Thomas — the WNBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles — alongside four-time WNBA All-Star Kahleah Copper and DeWanna Bonner, who rejoined the Mercury franchise during the 2025 campaign.

New in 2026:

• Expanded 30-Game Schedule: ESPN and ABC will broadcast 30 WNBA games this season, the largest number of WNBA regular-season games Disney has ever presented, allowing additional time to feature the league’s top teams and stars.

• Women’s Sports Sundays: With ESPN no longer carrying “Sunday Night Baseball”, the network has decided to replace some of those former SNB windows with a new programming block called “Women’s Sports Sundays”, a franchise that will showcase some of the league’s most anticipated matchups throughout the summer months. One of these games is Liberty vs. Sparks on Sunday, June 21, featuring two original WNBA franchises. “Women’s Sports Sundays” will run for nine Sunday nights and include 12 matchups, including one doubleheader on Sunday, August 16. 

• 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend: The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will take place at Chicago’s United Center on Saturday, July 25, marking the first time that this arena has hosted the event. ABC will televise the All-Star Game in primetime for the third consecutive season. Additionally, ESPN will televise the 2026 Kia WNBA Skills Challenge and WNBA State Farm 3-Point Contest during WNBA All-Star Weekend.

WNBA Countdown, presented by Google Pixel, ESPN’s WNBA pregame show, is back again this year with at least 24 editions before game broadcasts, an increase of 10 shows (from 14) over last season.

• Blockbuster Appearances: The Fever, led by Clark and Boston, make 10 appearances across ABC and ESPN this season. The Liberty is scheduled for 8 games across ABC and ESPN, followed by five appearances from the Aces. The Lynx and Sky each receive four appearances across Disney platforms this season. 

• Playoff Rematches Renew Rivalries: Five games will focus on rematches from the 2025 WNBA Playoffs, including Phoenix vs. Las Vegas (May 9, Finals rematch), Indiana vs. Atlanta (June 20 and August 16, First Round rematches), Indiana vs. Las Vegas (July 5, Semifinals rematch), and New York vs. Phoenix (August 1, First Round rematches), bringing some heated playoff intensity into regular season matchups.

• New Era in Dallas: The Wings will appear in several national broadcasts as the 2026 top overall draft pick, Azzi Fudd, teams up with the 2025 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, Paige Bueckers. Notable moments include the opening weekend game at Indiana on May 9 and a primetime clash in New York on July 7.

• Reconfigured Dream Squad Takes Center Stage: In 2026, the Atlanta Dream made headlines by adding two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese, who now joins fellow All-Stars Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. The team will participate in significant matchups, including Reese’s debut against her former team, the Chicago Sky, on June 9, which will be broadcast on ESPN, as well as several games against Indiana.

• Contender Clashes Make Schedule Noise: A high-profile matchup between New York and Minnesota (July 11, ABC) has two of the league’s contenders, while Indiana plays Las Vegas (July 5, ESPN) in a semifinal rematch between clubs with star power.

• Expansion Clubs: The Golden State Valkyries, who made their WNBA debut in 2025, participate in a key game on June 6 on ABC against Las Vegas. New teams will be appearing on ESPN platforms, including the Toronto Tempo, featuring two-time WNBA champion Sandy Brondello, hosting the Fever on August 18 (ESPN), and the Portland Fire, returning for the first time in more than two decades, facing the Mercury on August 16 (ESPN).
