Highlights:

• ESPN’s 30-game schedule highlights the WNBA’s historic 30th season.

• A new programming block, called “Women’s Sports Sundays,” debuts on Sunday, June 21, with Liberty vs. Sparks, featuring two of the original WNBA franchises.

• Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and the Indiana Fever will appear 10 times across ESPN platforms, followed by the Liberty with eight, the Aces with five, and the Lynx and Sky getting four games each.

• Once again, WNBA regular-season coverage is shared between ABC and ESPN. ESPN has 17 games, while ABC has 13 matchups on broadcast television.

• Following regular-season action, Disney platforms will televise two first-round series and one semifinal series.

ESPN and ABC, in coordination with the WNBA, announced the 2026 WNBA regular season schedule. ESPN, which has televised WNBA games annually since the league’s inception in 1997, celebrates its 30th season of WNBA coverage in 2026. The 30-game schedule starts on Saturday, May 9, with increased coverage across ABC and ESPN. The league’s best squads, top-tier superstars, and rising stars will be featured throughout the WNBA this season.

The 2026 season is the first year of an 11-year media rights agreement between ESPN, The Walt Disney Company, and the WNBA that runs through the 2036 season, fortifying ESPN’s role as the league’s primary home for regular-season games, playoffs, and the Finals.

During the 2026 season, ESPN and ABC team up to present 30 WNBA regular-season games, including the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game from Chicago. Coverage starts with regular-season games presented by Google Pixel and continues through the 2026 WNBA Playoffs presented by Google Pixel, which features up to 11 games.

Star-Studded Opening Weekend Action:

ESPN’s regular season coverage begins on Saturday, May 9, with a WNBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax doubleheader on ABC and Disney+.

The action tips off at 1:00 PM ET when Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings visit Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This matchup has some of the WNBA’s most notable young stars. The last four WNBA No. 1 overall picks are set to be featured in this game — Aliyah Boston (2023), Caitlin Clark (2024), Paige Bueckers (2025) & Azzi Fudd (2026). Clark plays in a game for the first time since July 15 of last season, while the Wings start a new era as Fudd, Bueckers, and four-time WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale share the basketball floor for the first time. The Fever are led by Clark, Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, the WNBA’s No. 3-ranked scorer last year. 

The doubleheader resumes at 3:30 PM ET as Kahleah Copper and the Phoenix Mercury battle four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before the game starts, the Aces will hold a ring ceremony in honor of the team’s 2025 WNBA championship. Las Vegas starts its pursuit of winning four WNBA championships in five years. As it stands, Las Vegas is just the second team in WNBA history to win three championships in four seasons (joining the Houston Comets, who won four consecutive titles from 1997-2000). The Aces feature four-time WNBA All-Star Jackie Young, Wilson, and six-time WNBA All-Star Chelsea Gray. The Mercury is led by six-time WNBA All-Star Alyssa Thomas — the WNBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles — alongside four-time WNBA All-Star Kahleah Copper and DeWanna Bonner, who rejoined the Mercury franchise during the 2025 campaign.

New in 2026:

• Expanded 30-Game Schedule: ESPN and ABC will broadcast 30 WNBA games this season, the largest number of WNBA regular-season games Disney has ever presented, allowing additional time to feature the league’s top teams and stars.

• Women’s Sports Sundays: With ESPN no longer carrying “Sunday Night Baseball”, the network has decided to replace some of those former SNB windows with a new programming block called “Women’s Sports Sundays”, a franchise that will showcase some of the league’s most anticipated matchups throughout the summer months. One of these games is Liberty vs. Sparks on Sunday, June 21, featuring two original WNBA franchises. “Women’s Sports Sundays” will run for nine Sunday nights and include 12 matchups, including one doubleheader on Sunday, August 16. 

• 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend: The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will take place at Chicago’s United Center on Saturday, July 25, marking the first time that this arena has hosted the event. ABC will televise the All-Star Game in primetime for the third consecutive season. Additionally, ESPN will televise the 2026 Kia WNBA Skills Challenge and WNBA State Farm 3-Point Contest during WNBA All-Star Weekend.

WNBA Countdown, presented by Google Pixel, ESPN’s WNBA pregame show, is back again this year with at least 24 editions before game broadcasts, an increase of 10 shows (from 14) over last season.

Additional 2026 Schedule Highlights:

• Blockbuster Appearances: The Fever, led by Clark and Boston, make 10 appearances across ABC and ESPN this season. The Liberty is scheduled for 8 games across ABC and ESPN, followed by five appearances from the Aces. The Lynx and Sky each receive four appearances across Disney platforms this season. 

• Playoff Rematches Renew Rivalries: Five games will focus on rematches from the 2025 WNBA Playoffs, including Phoenix vs. Las Vegas (May 9, Finals rematch), Indiana vs. Atlanta (June 20 and August 16, First Round rematches), Indiana vs. Las Vegas (July 5, Semifinals rematch), and New York vs. Phoenix (August 1, First Round rematches), bringing some heated playoff intensity into regular season matchups.

• New Era in Dallas: The Wings will appear in several national broadcasts as the 2026 top overall draft pick, Azzi Fudd, teams up with the 2025 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, Paige Bueckers. Notable moments include the opening weekend game at Indiana on May 9 and a primetime clash in New York on July 7.

• Reconfigured Dream Squad Takes Center Stage: In 2026, the Atlanta Dream made headlines by adding two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese, who now joins fellow All-Stars Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. The team will participate in significant matchups, including Reese’s debut against her former team, the Chicago Sky, on June 9, which will be broadcast on ESPN, as well as several games against Indiana.

• Contender Clashes Make Schedule Noise: A high-profile matchup between New York and Minnesota (July 11, ABC) has two of the league’s contenders, while Indiana plays Las Vegas (July 5, ESPN) in a semifinal rematch between clubs with star power.

• Expansion Clubs: The Golden State Valkyries, who made their WNBA debut in 2025, participate in a key game on June 6 on ABC against Las Vegas. New teams will be appearing on ESPN platforms, including the Toronto Tempo, featuring two-time WNBA champion Sandy Brondello, hosting the Fever on August 18 (ESPN), and the Portland Fire, returning for the first time in more than two decades, facing the Mercury on August 16 (ESPN).

2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO: Conference Semifinals (Second Round) Television Schedule and Commentators

• The 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO continue Saturday, May 2, with the start of the Conference Semifinals at 8:00 PM ET on ABC as the Philadelphia Flyers visit the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.

• Then, on Sunday, May 3, the Avalanche and the Wild drop the puck on their best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinal series (9:00 PM ET/7:00 PM MT puck drop on TNT and truTV).

• Ducks and Golden Knights are set to meet in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time ever following 1st-round series victories for Anaheim & Vegas, respectively. Game 1 is Monday, May 4 at 9:30 PM ET (6:30 PM PT) on ESPN & ESPN App.

• Tage Thompson and the Buffalo Sabres host Nick Suzuki and the Montreal Canadiens in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Wednesday, May 6, at 7:00 PM ET on TNT and truTV.

The 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs presented by GEICO enter the Conference Semifinal round, starting this weekend with at least TWO series openers (Flyers-Hurricanes Game 1 on Saturday night and Wild-Avalanche Game 1 on Sunday night). The Ducks-Golden Knights series opens on Monday night, while the Sabres-Lightning/Canadiens series gets going on Wednesday night. 

On Saturday, May 2, Cam York and the upstart Philadelphia Flyers (M3) visit Taylor Hall and the Metropolitan Division champion Carolina Hurricanes (M1) for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series from the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. This marks the first-ever playoff meeting between these two clubs. Carolina swept Ottawa in Round 1, while the Flyers outlasted the Penguins in a memorable six-game opening round series capped off by York’s game-winning goal in the overtime period of the series-clinching Game 6 on Wednesday night. Flyers-Hurricanes is set for an 8:00 PM ET start time and will be televised on ABC. ESPN on ABC’s Mike Monaco (play-by-play), Ray Ferraro (analyst), & Emily Kaplan (reporter) will provide commentary for the Flyers vs. Hurricanes series opener. Game 2 of this series will be on Monday, May 4, at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN, with the same cast of Monaco, Ferraro & Kaplan returning.

Then on Sunday, May 3, it’s time for the opening faceoff in the second-round series from the Western Conference, as Nathan MacKinnon and the Central Division champion Colorado Avalanche (C1) play Matt Boldy and the Minnesota Wild (C3) in Game 1 at 9:00 PM ET on TNT and truTV. Colorado swept Los Angeles 4-0 in the opening round. Minnesota defeated Dallas 4-2 in their first-round series, with the Wild defeating the Stars 5-2 in the series-clinching Game 6 on Thursday night. The Wild & Avalanche meet for the fourth time in the history of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. TNT Sports’ Brendan Burke (play-by-play) provides commentary alongside analysts Jody Shelley and Darren Pang. Second Round series openers continue on Monday, May 4, as Jackson LaCombe and the Anaheim Ducks (P3) face Jack Eichel and the Pacific Division champion Vegas Golden Knights (P1) in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN. Anaheim & Vegas will contest their first-ever playoff series. The Ducks defeated the defending two-time Western Conference champion Oilers in a six-game first-round series. At the same time, Vegas eliminated Utah four games to two in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The last remaining Conference Semifinal series opens up on Wednesday, May 6, as Zach Benson and the Buffalo Sabres (A1) host Lane Hutson and the Montreal Canadiens (A3) at 7:00 PM ET on TNT and truTV. During the four-game regular-season series, Buffalo and Montreal split the series, with each club winning two games. This is the first Stanley Cup Playoffs meeting between the Sabres and Canadiens since 1998. FS1 opens this Saturday’s MLB on Fox lineup with a matinee matchup between two American League teams. Jose Ramírez and the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians (13-10) look to continue their early success against Ernie Clement and the reigning American League champion Toronto Blue Jays (8-13) on Saturday, April 25, at 3:00 PM ET on FS1. Fox Sports’ Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Eric Karros (analyst) provide commentary for Guardians-Blue Jays.

Brayan Rocchio and the Guardians lead the American League Central entering this brand new week with a 13-10 mark. The defending American League champion Blue Jays try to climb out of the basement of the American League East, as they and the Red Sox are tied for last place in the division with an 8-13 record as of April 20.

This week got off to a rough start for Jose Ramírez and the Guardians, as Cleveland was battered 9-2 by the Astros on Monday evening. However, Cleveland maintains its first-place standing after Detroit’s loss to the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Ramírez, who was named the AL Player of the Week last week, went 1-for-4 with two runs scored in Monday’s loss to the Astros. Cleveland struggled to capitalize with runners in scoring position on Monday, going 2-for-12 in this department.

Davis Schneider and the Blue Jays are wrapping up an extended road trip before coming back home for this weekend’s Guardians series. On this nine-game road trip, the Blue Jays have compiled a subpar 2-4 record, with just one win each in the Brewers series (April 14 - April 16) and the Diamondbacks series (April 17 - April 19). To start this week off, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays face Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels for a three-game set, beginning Monday (April 20) night at Angel Stadium. However, the Blue Jays are fresh off a dominant 10-4 victory over the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon, thanks to the Jays EXPLODING for eight first-inning runs. At least Toronto has something to build off of heading into the Angels series.

Baseball Night in America — Cubs vs. Dodgers or Tigers vs. Reds — Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 PM ET on Fox

“Baseball Night in America”, Fox’s weekly MLB primetime series, resumes this Saturday, April 25, with regionalized coverage of two games starting at 7:00 PM ET on the Fox broadcast network. This week, most of the country will see the Cubs take on the Dodgers while select audiences get the Tigers-Reds interleague duel from Cincinnati. Check your local listings or the bottom of this article to find out which game Fox will be sending to your local market this Saturday.

Two National League rivals square off under the primetime lights as Ian Happ and the Chicago Cubs (12-9) battle Will Smith and the reigning two-time champion Los Angeles Dodgers (15-6) on Saturday, April 25, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. The MLB on Fox lead team of Joe Davis (play-by-play), Hall of Famer John Smoltz (analyst) & Emmy Award winner Ken Rosenthal (reporter) will call Cubs-Dodgers from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

The Cubs begin this week with a 12-9 record. Despite their good start, they find themselves tied for last place in the National League Central (alongside the Milwaukee Brewers). Meanwhile, the defending two-time champion Dodgers (15-6) hold a narrow half-game lead over Fernando Tatís Jr. and the surging San Diego Padres (15-7) for first place in the National League West.

The Cubs clipped the Mets, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon for the team’s fifth consecutive victory. Cubs 2B Nico Hoerner won the game in the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly to score the game-winning run. Cubs P Caleb Thielbar picked up his second win of the season. Before this weekend’s series against the Dodgers, the Cubs will have a four-game series against Trea Turner and the Philadelphia Phillies, running from Monday through Thursday.

The Dodgers fell to the Rockies, 9-6, on Sunday afternoon, marking their second consecutive loss. Two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 at the plate, contributing one run and driving in another. On the mound, Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen struggled, allowing four hits and three earned runs, resulting in his first loss of the season. Currently, the Dodgers are in the midst of a seven-game road trip, with matchups against two of their NL West competitors, the Rockies (in Denver) and the Giants (in San Francisco).

Three-time MLB All-Star Gleyber Torres and the Detroit Tigers (12-10) will visit two-time Gold Glove winner Ke’Bryan Hayes and the Cincinnati Reds (14-8) on Saturday, April 25, at 7:00 PM ET on Fox. Fox Sports’ Adam Amin (play-by-play) and 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright (analyst) will call Tigers-Reds from Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, OH.

Entering this week’s action, the Tigers trail Bo Naylor and the Cleveland Guardians (13-10) for first place in the American League Central. As for the Reds (14-8), they come into this week in sole possession of first place in the National League Central, with a half-game cushion over the second-place St. Louis Cardinals (13-8).

The Tigers fell short against the Red Sox on Monday afternoon, 8-6, concluding their four-game series against Boston with a series split (2-2). Tigers RF Riley Greene had a good performance, going 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring two runs, and driving in another pair. Despite the loss, Detroit’s bats produced 10 hits. Unfortunately, Tigers P Tyler Horton had a rough outing, allowing three earned runs and four hits in just two-thirds of an inning, marking the first loss of his season.

What an exciting time for the Cincinnati Reds! After securing a postseason berth last season, the team is demonstrating early on that its playoff success last season was not merely a fluke. On Monday night, they dominated the Rays with a decisive 6-1 victory, marking their fourth consecutive win in this series opener. First baseman Sal Stewart shone brightly, smashing his eighth home run of the season and surprising everyone with an impressive steal of third base during the game. Cincinnati’s offense came alive in a major way, setting a strong tone for the series. Their current road trip has been nothing short of remarkable, with an undefeated 4-0 record following a weekend sweep in Minneapolis and Monday’s triumph in Tampa Bay. As for Stewart, he appears to be a vital component of the Reds’ future, leading the team in home runs, RBIs, and OPS, while consistently sending any pitch in his vicinity soaring into the stands.
