Hi, everybody! Welcome to the Week #8 edition of the NBA: Summer Series — Full Court Press! In this week’s edition, we will discuss the seven national games scheduled for this week. The primary focus is the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup, which begins the Knockout Round phase with four Quarterfinal games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Saturday will feature two Semifinal games from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Prime Video will televise all of the action.
Next, we will present a capsule of each broadcast partner’s weekly schedule overview and highlights. This press release will then conclude with the weekly schedule. I hope you enjoy. I should mention that this week marks the midway point of the 2026 NBA: Summer Series regular season schedule.
π½ NBC/Peacock/NBCSN (1 game):
Peacock and NBCSN will nationally televise this week’s Peacock NBA Monday game on Monday, August 3, at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT.
⮞ Suns (13-10) vs. Timberwolves (15-8) — Monday, 8:00 PM ET on Peacock/NBCSN:
Jalen Green and the Phoenix Suns (13-10) travel to Target Center in Minneapolis for a matchup versus Naz Reid and the Minnesota Timberwolves (15-8) on Monday, August 3, at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT on Peacock and NBCSN. Monday’s game is a crucial one, as the Wolves and Suns are currently involved in a race for the sixth Seed in the West (a seed that guarantees you an automatic playoff berth).
Monday’s Suns-Timberwolves game is the next scheduled edition of “On the Bench,” an innovative production by NBC Sports. This exciting format assigns one analyst to each team, placing them courtside to fully engage with the action and provide insights directly from the bench.
Currently, the Timberwolves and Suns hold the sixth and seventh positions, respectively, in the Western Conference standings. The Timberwolves have made impressive strides, reaching the Western Conference Finals for the past two seasons.
Noah Eagle (play-by-play) will call the Suns-Timberwolves game, while Austin Rivers and Jordan Cornette will serve as the “On the Bench” analysts. Rivers will focus on the Suns, while Cornette will cover the Timberwolves.
Monday’s live coverage begins at 7:00 PM ET on Peacock and NBCSN with “NBA Showtime presented by Wingstop”. NBC Sports’ Ahmed Fareed will host, joined by two-time WNBA Champion Renee Montgomery, three-time WNBA Champion Breanna Stewart, 12-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul, and five-time NBA All-Star Devin Booker. Following the game, NBA Showtime will recap the action.

Prime Video (6 games):
Prime Video is going to be busy, as the streaming platform is set to televise six games (with all of them being Emirates NBA Cup Knockout Round games). Prime Video will have Quarterfinal doubleheaders on Tuesday (August 4) and Wednesday (August 5), followed by a Semifinal doubleheader from Las Vegas on Saturday (August 8).
The 2026 Emirates NBA Cup Knockout Rounds begin with a Tuesday night quarterfinal doubleheader (August 4) on Prime Video.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinal | (E4) Heat vs. (E1) Magic — Tuesday, 7:00 PM ET on Prime Video:
Tyler Herro and the Miami Heat (4th Seed) visit Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic in the first of two East Quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday, August 4, at 7:00 PM ET on Prime Video. The winner advances to Saturday’s semifinals, while the loser is eliminated.
Miami possesses one of the quickest offenses in the NBA, as they completed Group Play with a 3-1 record and the lone Wild Card spot from the Eastern Conference. “We wanna play fast, we wanna play with pace,” said Heat forward Bam Adebayo recently. “And we’ve built a team to sustain that.” The Heat have averaged 122.3 points per game so far this season. Orlando, on the other hand, finished Group Play with an undefeated 4-0 record and locked up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic accomplished that largely without their star forward Paolo Banchero, who missed three of the four Group Play games.
Eric Collins (play-by-play), former NBA veteran Dell Curry (analyst), & Kristina Pink (reporter) provide commentary for the Heat-Magic East Quarterfinal contest.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinal | (W4) Suns vs. (W1) Thunder — Tuesday, 9:30 PM ET on Prime Video:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the defending NBA: Summer Series champion Oklahoma City Thunder (1st Seed), winners of 15 consecutive games, seek their franchise-record 16th consecutive win when they host Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns (4th Seed) in the West Quarterfinal of the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup on Tuesday, August 4, at 9:30 PM ET/8:30 PM CT on Prime Video.
Phoenix aims to become the first team since the Portland Trail Blazers on July 1 to defeat Oklahoma City, which would send the Thunder packing from the Emirates NBA Cup. Suns F Dillon Brooks’ relentless on-ball pressure and sharp basketball intelligence have significantly bolstered the Suns’ defense. With him at forward, they managed to challenge the Thunder closely in their last encounter, losing 123-119. “This is what Dillon brings to the table. He plays with immense effort every single night, and he dedicates himself to improving his game,” remarked Suns coach Jordan Ott. “He embodies the spirit of a true competitor.”
Oklahoma City is pretty familiar with playing in high-pressure stakes games. Last year, Oklahoma City reached the Emirates NBA Cup Championship Game, ultimately losing 97-81 to the Bucks. Why is the margin of 16 important? Well, Oklahoma City will set franchise history if they can beat Phoenix on Tuesday, snagging their franchise-record 16th consecutive win (something that no previous Oklahoma City Thunder team was able to pull off successfully). Plus, OKC played in two do-or-die Game 7s last in the playoffs, vs. Denver in the West Semifinals and vs. Indiana in the NBA Finals, and went on to win both of these games.
In the booth, play-by-play commentator Kevin Harlan and analyst Jim Jackson team up for Suns-Thunder, with Allie Clifton manning the sidelines throughout the evening.
Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 PM ET with NBA on Prime Pregame Presented by CarMax. Taylor Rooks will serve as host, alongside three-time WNBA champion Swin Cash, fellow three-time WNBA champion Candace Parker, 17-year NBA veteran Rudy Gay, 2019 NBA Champion Kyle Lowry, and insider Chris Haynes. After the Suns-Thunder game, stay tuned for NBA Nightcap presented by Wayfair, starting at 12:00 AM ET on Prime Video.
Quarterfinal action from the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup Knockout Rounds continues on Wednesday, August 5, with Knicks vs. Raptors at 7:30 PM ET followed by Spurs vs. Lakers at 10:00 PM ET, both exclusively streaming on Prime Video.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinal | (E3) Knicks vs. (E2) Raptors — Wednesday, 7:30 PM ET on Prime Video:
Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks (3rd Seed) participate in Atlantic Division play versus Brandon Ingram and the Toronto Raptors (2nd Seed) as both teams fight for a semifinal berth in the East Quarterfinal on Wednesday, August 5, at 7:30 PM ET on Prime Video.
The Knicks are in the Knockout Rounds section of the Emirates NBA Cup for the third straight year, looking to advance to the Semifinals for the first time ever, while the Raptors seek to make a resounding statement against their division foe. The Knicks have gone 7-1 over their past eight games to currently sit 2nd in the East at 16-7. The Raptors permitted an NBA-best 100.8 ppg in Group Play while holding teams to 40.9% shooting during the four Group Play games.
Michael Grady (play-by-play), two-time NBA champion Brent Barry (analyst), & JayDee Dyer (reporter) will call the Knicks-Raptors East Quarterfinal matchup from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinal | (W3) Spurs vs. (W2) Lakers — Wednesday, 10:00 PM ET on Prime Video:
De’Aaron Fox and the San Antonio Spurs (3rd Seed) square off against the NBA’s leading scorer, Luka DonΔiΔ, and the Los Angeles Lakers (2nd Seed) in the final Quarterfinal game on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT, exclusively on Prime Video.
In this matchup, we will see two of the top three highest scores in the brief history of the NBA Cup. De’Aaron Fox has averaged 31.6 PPG in Cup games, while DonΔiΔ has put up 32.6 PPG in Cup games. The Lakers & Spurs have been consistently good this year, maintaining top-five positions in the West standings, despite injuries significantly impacting both teams thus far. The Lakers finished 4-0 in group play, becoming the first team in the Western Conference to advance. San Antonio’s youth movement proved to be the difference, as they defeated Denver in the last Group Play game.
Veteran play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle, analyst and former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy, & longtime reporter Cassidy Hubbarth form Prime’s broadcast team for the Spurs-Lakers West Quarterfinal contest.
Pregame coverage begins at 7:00 PM ET with NBA on Prime Pregame Presented by CarMax, led once again by the fabulous Taylor Rooks. Rooks’ group of analysts includes five-time NBA All-Star John Wall, Senior NBA writer Zach Lowe, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, and two-time NBA All-Star Tyrese Haliburton. Chris Haynes rounds out the crew as the show’s insider. NBA Nightcap, starting at 12:30 AM ET, features player interviews, highlights, and in-depth analysis from Rooks and the team.
The 2026 Emirates NBA Cup continues with a Semifinal Saturday doubleheader on Prime Video this Saturday, August 8.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Semifinal | (E3) Knicks vs. (E1) Magic — Saturday, 4:00 PM ET on Prime Video:
Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks (3rd Seed) take on Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic (1st Seed) in an Emirates NBA Cup East Semifinal matchup from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, August 8, at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT on Prime Video.
Saturday marks the fourth time that the Magic and Knicks have played this season, with the Magic leading the season series 2-1. Over the last two seasons, the clubs have evenly split 10 matchups. But this time, a Cup championship berth is at stake. One of the best offenses in the league is paired against one of the best defenses in the league. “It’s two good basketball teams,” said Magic guard Desmond Bane. “Two teams that are trying to do something big in the Eastern Conference.”
Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Stan Van Gundy (analyst), Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade (analyst), & Cassidy Hubbarth (reporter) will provide commentary for Magic-Knicks from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
⮞ π Emirates NBA Cup Semifinal | (W3) Spurs vs. (W1) Thunder — Saturday, 8:00 PM ET on Prime Video:
Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs (3rd Seed) battle Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder (1st Seed) in an Emirates NBA Cup West Semifinal game from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, August 8, at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT on Prime Video.
Wembanyama and the Spurs look to establish themselves as a legit West contender not only this year, but for many years to come. 24-1. Oklahoma City tied Golden State for the best start in NBA history earlier this week. Last year, Oklahoma City achieved plenty of notable marks — an NBA-best 68-14 record, a +12.9 point differential, a first-ever Kia MVP for star G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and of course, an NBA championship. Now, can Oklahoma City get back to the Emirates NBA Cup Championship Game for the second consecutive season?
Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Stan Van Gundy (analyst), Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade (analyst), & Cassidy Hubbarth (reporter) will provide commentary for Spurs-Thunder from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A full day of Emirates NBA Cup semifinal coverage begins at 3:00 PM ET on Prime Video with a special on-site edition of NBA on Prime Pregame Presented by CarMax. Hosted by Prime Video’s Taylor Rooks from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, she is joined by a pair of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers, Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash, three-time NBA champion Udonis Haslem, six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin, and insider Chris Haynes. The crew will provide bridge coverage in between games with “The Crossover” (6:30 PM ET-8:00 PM ET) and will wrap up the night with “NBA Nightcap presented by Wayfair” (10:30 PM ET-11:30 PM ET).
