Welcome to another week of the NBA: Summer Series — Full Court Press! I hope you guys are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. The stretch run of the 2026 NBA: Summer Series regular season continues with the start of the Advil Playoff Push, as teams battle for division championships, play-in spots, and general seeding throughout the league.
Throughout the week, 19 games will be broadcast nationally across the NBA: Summer Series media, including linear television and streaming. Peacock and NBCSN will broadcast this week’s Peacock NBA Monday matchup on Labor Day, featuring an Eastern Conference matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers, with game coverage starting at 8:00 PM ET.

2024 NBA Champion Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics (24-14) square off against 2019 NBA Champion Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers (8-31) during this week’s edition of Peacock NBA Monday on Monday, September 7 at 8:00 PM ET on Peacock and NBCSN.
Michael Grady (play-by-play) will call Celtics-Pacers, alongside game analysts Robbie Hummel and Brian Scalabrine. Hummel, an Indiana native and former star at Purdue, will be assigned to the Celtics, while Scalabrine, a 2008 NBA champion with the Celtics, will be assigned to the Pacers.
The upcoming matchup between the Celtics and Pacers will showcase “On the Bench” coverage, an innovative production approach by NBC Sports. This unique format assigns one analyst to each team, placing them courtside to fully engage with the action. As a result, these analysts will provide real-time insights and information directly from their teams’ benches.
The Celtics open Week #13 third in the Eastern Conference, behind the Knicks and the Pistons. Of course, this season has allowed players to take on bigger roles in the absence of Jayson Tatum, including G Derrick White (18.6 ppg, 5.2 apg) and G Payton Pritchard (16.8 ppg, 5.2 apg). Boston is trying to qualify for the NBA Playoffs for the 12th consecutive season. Brown looks like an MVP, as the 10th-year guard from Cal is averaging 29.5 ppg — a career high.
Live coverage for Monday’s game begins at 7:00 PM ET on Peacock and NBCSN with NBA Showtime presented by Wingstop, hosted by NBC Sports’ John Fanta alongside three-time NBA All-Star Antoine Walker, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning Jr., two-time NBA All-Star Baron Davis, and 2004 NBA Champion Richard “Rip” Hamilton. As usual, Coast 2 Coast Tuesday will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock on September 8, featuring a doubleheader. The Spurs will face the Thunder at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT, followed by Trail Blazers vs. Warriors at 10:30 PM ET/7:30 PM PT.
⮞ Spurs (27-12) π Thunder (33-7) — Tuesday, 8:00 PM ET (7:00 PM CT) on NBC & Peacock:
2024-25 NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (33-7) host 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs (27-12) on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT on NBC and Peacock. San Antonio seeks their fourth consecutive win over Oklahoma City, as the Spurs have previously beaten the Thunder on three separate occasions (including twice in one week - August 18 & August 20).
Veteran play-by-play announcer Tamir Moore, analyst and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, and courtside reporter Zora Stephenson will provide commentary for Spurs-Thunder from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
On August 8, the Spurs defeated the Thunder in the Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinals, giving the Spurs just their second loss of the season at the time. Then, 10 days later, the Spurs won their seventh consecutive game, defeating the Thunder by 20 (their largest loss of the season at the time). A summer statement was made by San Antonio on August 20, winning by 15 points on Oklahoma City’s home court (OKC’s first loss at Paycom Center this year).
Oklahoma City, the best team in basketball, has played 19 teams this year. They went 33-4 vs. 18 of these teams. However, there is one team that OKC hasn’t been able to beat. The Spurs. OKC is 0-3 vs. San Antonio in three head-to-head meetings. “You don’t lose to a team three times in a row in a short span without them being better than you,” said Thunder G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander after OKC’s most recent loss to San Antonio during the Summer Showcase. “We have to get better. We have to look in the mirror – and that’s everybody, top to bottom – if we want to reach our ultimate goal.” Of course, Oklahoma City won the 2025 NBA Finals last year, winning their first title since moving to Oklahoma City back in 2008.
⮞ Trail Blazers (19-21) π Warriors (21-19) — Tuesday, 10:30 PM ET (7:30 PM PT) on NBC & Peacock:
NBA All-Star Deni Avdija and the Portland Trail Blazers (19-21) face two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (21-19) on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:30 PM ET/7:30 PM PT on NBC and Peacock. Warriors G Stephen Curry is averaging 28.8 PPG this season. Curry and the home-standing Warriors host the Portland Trail Blazers, winners of five of their six contests. Currently, both teams would be in the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament if the season ended today.
NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon (play-by-play), three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner Jamal Crawford (analyst) & Ashley ShahAhmadi (courtside reporter) will call Trail Blazers-Warriors from Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Live coverage for Tuesday’s doubleheader starts at 7:30 PM ET on NBC and Peacock, with NBA Showtime presented by State Farm, hosted by NBC Sports’ Maria Taylor, featuring Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, and Tracy McGrady. C2CT will present live NBA doubleheaders on Tuesday evenings across NBC stations across the country during the regular season, with Game 1 typically starting at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT followed by Game 2’s typical start time of 10:30 PM ET/7:30 PM PT. On Friday, September 11, the nation will mark the 25th anniversary of the horrible attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, that claimed nearly 3,000 lives. The World Trade Center in New York was completely destroyed by the attacks. Also, another plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania (80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh). And finally, a fourth plane struck the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the 9/11 families as they mourn this tragic anniversary.
ESPN will televise a special NBA Friday doubleheader, with 9/11 tributes intertwined into the evening’s coverage.

ABC will televise a special Friday night game on Friday, September 11, as the Chicago Bulls visit the Brooklyn Nets at 8:00 PM ET. Friday’s game coincides with the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
On Friday, September 11, the nation will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the devastating attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, resulting in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives.
