. Two of the most iconic franchises in basketball ๐Ÿ€ renew their rivalry as Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers and Tyrese Maxey in a 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals re-match on the pre-season premiere on ABC Sunday Showcase - Sunday, May 5 at 1:00 PM ET on ABC.

The NBA: Summer Series is officially back! I hope that you guys enjoyed your offseason, and are ready for another exciting summer of Summer Series basketball ๐Ÿ€. The Summer Series franchise is set to return this week, with the beginning of the 48th season in franchise history.

While the regular season is still a few weeks away from getting started, we have some preseason games to look forward in the near future to prepare the players for the exciting regular season grind ahead, starting on Tuesday, May 21.

This week, the Summer Series tips off preseason play with nine live preseason games on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2.

On Thursday, May 2, the Summer Series preseason schedule begins with a doubleheader on ESPN. Coverage begins at 6:30 PM ET with NBA Countdown presented by DoorDash, hosted by Sam Prince. Prince is joined by six-time WNBA All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith, Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal & three-time Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford as analysts. Insider Kendra Andrews also joins the crew.

Thursday's preseason doubleheader begins at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Denver Nuggets visit Tyler Herro and the Miami Heat in a re-match of the 2023 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV. Kevin Harlan provides play-by-play commentary alongside analysts Boogie Ellis and Cam Whitmore, with Lisa Salters acting as a reporter. Then, at 9:30 PM ET, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves host Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks in a Western Conference pre-season duel. Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Mike Breen, analyst and 2008 NBA Champion head coach Doc Rivers, and reporter Jacob Hardie will provide commentary on ESPN.

Following the Mavericks-Timberwolves game, ESPN will air the NBA: After the Buzzer postgame show to recap Thursday's games, with Prince, Diggins-Smith, O'Neal, Crawford & Andrews all returning to participate in the show.

On Saturday, May 4, ABC is the place to be as the network is set to present three exclusive preseason games for you to enjoy. The action starts at 3:00 PM ET with NBA Countdown presented by DoorDash. Host Miles Johnson begins his second season as the lead studio host for the Summer Series, alongside analysts Damian Dunn & Diamond Miller. Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton will make his Summer Series debut as a studio analyst during Saturday's edition of NBA Countdown. Insider Chris Haynes returns for his second year as the lead insider.

ABC's Saturday tripleheader begins at 3:30 PM ET as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and the Minnesota Timberwolves head south to Big D for a meeting with Dereck Lively II and the Dallas Mavericks. The two teams meet for the second time in less than a week. David Moskowitz will be on the call with analyst and two-time WNBA champion Breanna Stewart & reporter Isaiah Walker on ABC. Later, at 6:00 PM ET, the ABC tripleheader moves forward with the second Heat vs. Nuggets game in three days as the Nuggets take on the "hosting" duties for this matchup. The NBA Finals team of Curtis Stockley, analysts Jermaine Samuels and Justin Moore, and reporter Michelle Kuc will handle the commentary duties.

The tripleheader concludes at 8:30 PM ET with the pre-season premiere of NBA Saturday Primetime as four-time champion LeBron James leads his Los Angeles Lakers into a showdown with four-time champion Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Grayson Singleton will call the game, with five-time All-Star Jayson Tatum and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Doris Burke. Jorge Sedano will report from the sidelines.

Following the Lakers-Warriors game, keep it locked to ABC as Johnson, Haliburton, Dunn, Miller & Haynes recap the day's action with NBA: After the Buzzer.

On Sunday, May 5, the opening week of Summer Series preseason action wraps up with four games spread out across ABC and ESPN2. Start your Sunday at 12:30 PM ET with NBA Countdown presented by DoorDash on ABC as Johnson, Haliburton, Dunn, Miller & Haynes will be in the studio to provide you with the latest information prior to the 76ers-Celtics and Suns-Pistons games on ABC.

Game coverage begins at 1:00 PM ET on ABC as reigning MVP Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers play Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. This is a re-match of the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals, a series in which Boston won in seven games. Dane Richardson is on the play-by-play mic, joined by analyst and 2016 National Champion Kris Jenkins and reporter Susan Reutter. Later that day, at 3:30 PM ET, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns visit Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons. Teagan Brown will describe the action with analyst Candace Parker and reporter Derryl Barnes.

The primetime Sunday slate brings us a network change as ESPN2 will serve as the broadcast home for the final two nationally televised preseason games for the night. A second edition of NBA Countdown airs at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN2, with Miles and the crew previewing the night games on ESPN2 and recapping the Sunday afternoon games on ABC.

Sunday's ESPN2 doubleheader begins at 7:30 PM ET as Myles Turner and the Indiana Pacers get set to square off with Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Memphis Grizzlies. ESPN commentator Adam Amin, NBA analyst and 11-year NBA veteran CJ McCollum & reporter Charmaine Malone will provide commentary. Then, the nine game Week 1 preseason slate finishes at 10:00 PM ET on ESPN2, as Collin Sexton and the Utah Jazz face Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers. Alex Faust is the play-by-play announcer with 22-year veteran and Hall of Famer Vince Carter serving as the game analyst. Bryant Moore will provide information from the sidelines.

When the Jazz-Clippers game is over, stay on ESPN2 for the NBA: After the Buzzer postgame show, as Johnson, Haliburton, Dunn, Miller & Haynes recap and talk about Sunday's action.
